Yes this was eye opening for me. I've been uncertain on ways to use intersect so this was a revelation. And yes I'd love to have a better understanding of camera raw. Thanks for this.
I've used ps for over 20 years and have never once opened LR. I will now this is great and I can see this helping with selling my woodworking. Thank you!
Very nice. Almost skipped this one because I consider myself well versed at the masking tools, but your tips on rim lighting of the subject and additional lighting of the deck area put this a step above. Beautiful final image and brilliant example. Glad I didn't skip this. Thank you!
Intersect is a very powerful tool. I especially like to use it with the luminosity slider which makes it act very similar to " blend if " in Photoshop. Using this method gives a more realistic look to painted highlights 😊
I don’t use Lightroom, but I do use Camera Raw in Bridge or PS a lot. I’m not a photographer, so I’m not editing my own pics. Rather, I manage a website for a charity and generally receive pics taken by regular people on their phones. Most are taken with no regard for the framing, background, light, etc. So I do my best to “fix” them to make them usable. Tips like these are really valuable. Thank you!
Thanks for yet another helpful and easily understood video. I might have to watch it a few times to get my head around intersecting but I can see how this technique will help my gig photos, often shot in appalling lighting conditions!
Great technique for applying a nice rim light to the model. It's not totally convincing in this instance however, especially when you consider the direction of the shadow fall from the building! Where is the perceived light coming from?
You missed the point. It’s a Lightroom masking tutorial. But my imaginary light is coming from a mono light on camera right with a bounce card behind model on camera left.
Colin, nobody has addressed the change made to PS 24.1 where they removed the "delete and fill" option using the lasso tool. Can you please have a look and address this? Lots of punters have asked you guys but nobody has taken the time to address it. Cheers mate.
Thanks for the support. Sort of, sort of not. It’s loosely based on the original course, but it’s all new from scratch, to make it even better than the last one. :)
