Camping with wildlife is one of our favourite things to do. I'm not sure if it's just that we grew up in South Africa, but getting the opportunity to share an area with wild animals is one we jump at every time.
However, there are a very different set of rules when it comes to camping with wildlife and one needs to take extra precautions to ensure one's safety and the safety of the wild animals around you.
In this video we look at the 9 things you should NOT do when camping with wildlife.
Encountering wildlife when camping is an inevitability - it's best to be prepared so when this happens, you're not surprised.

Been speaking to a hunter, mostly you want to climb a tree. Unless its a bear - they climb trees. This of course applies to Polish forests, the African wildlife is a different pair of shoes. The cable tie on the tent is brilliant, never would have thought of that.

Where I live in Colorado USA, the two main scary wildlife is bears and mountain lions, both of which climb super well... 😬

An elephant falling trees middle of the night at your camp, you would just hear the tree cracking hitting other trees breaking branches making its way to the ground! Now you would start praying😂 after that loud landing.

In North America all you really have to worry about is bears. The best solution to that is to just put all your food somewhere else, tying it in a tree several hundred yards away is what I do

I prefer lions roaring or rumbling at camp that way you know how there movement is, the louder the sounds the closer they get.
