Go here for what not to make in SMBX via levels: • What Not to Make in Su... What Not to Do/Make in SMBX World Map Bad things tend to happen on a World Map... which will be a thing to go around it.
On the unfitting music segment, I think the Ice World music fits quite well with the Bowser's Valley kind of aesthetic if you're going for an eerie feeling.
remove the lava lake/ocean (and probably the lava rivers), and yeah, you've got more of a "creepy"/eerie, horror-styled ruins-like world map (still missing fog, but can't have everything).
"Inconsistent pipe warps" True in most cases, but there are exceptions. Just like you would expect inconsistent doors in a Ghost House level, you most probably would expect inconsistent warps in a Ghost World. Or at least, it would fit the theme, thus be more than OK. EDIT: As long as in the end, there IS a way out of the mess. Endless loops you are trapped in forever are of course not acceptable.
While I agree with "Very long pathways", there are actually means to make it OK. For example, take The Great Maze. It has a huge pathway overworld maze. Or some other episode (I don't remember its name) which had insanely long pathways across loads of different world zones but was decorated close to perfection. With the right scenery decoration, even the longest pathways don't get boring. (After a certain length, it's very hard to keep it interesting though.)
In reality, Ice land fix in ice worlds (duh), and ghost house-or-like-this world(to make scary)...and...uh...the lava world...with this music...i think it have "fixed"... have given a better scary look to the world...
As someone who just started making a world with smbx do pathways load automatically after you place the tiles or do you need to do something? Also how do i add levels? I know, beginner questions :)
If you look how other episodes did it like The Invasion 2, you can see how indivitual levels are placed in, if you grab an object you can see how the level has a title and a linked level inside it, and also how the exit is laid out too for that level to use it.
Here is a recommendation. *EPILEPSY WARNING.* The part with the pipes was dones so fast that it actually hurt me when I do not have Epilepsy, and I was able to take the banned pokémon episode that was banned for the same reason easily. (I watched the Porygon episode without pain, yet you pressed the "jump" key way to fast for it to be considered safe.) Otherwise, nice video.
