I am sooo happy you mentioned the APEA predictor exam. I just took it and I was in the yellow at-risk middle area. I thought I was ready to take the AANP exam but now my confidence is totally crushed. My exam is in 3 weeks. I feel a littel more confident after watching your video. Thank you :) (Also, I have watched all of your exam prep videos with the "dump sheets", very helpful! thanks!)
I have taken both the FNP & ACNP exams (ANCC). For FNP, I did the Fitzgerald 2-day online live review and felt it was worth every penny. I was well-prepared for boards and passed easily. Just follow the lectures with your workbook and everything you need to know is there. I did Barkley's 2-day online review for ACNP. I felt the material was a bit dry since it wasn't a live course where I could interact, like with Fitzgerald. However, the information was spot-on. Everything we covered was on ANCC. I also highly recommend the Barkley's DRT practice exams. You get 2 attempts for the exam. Take the test cold, no prep. It will give you a print out of your weak & strong areas. Use that as a guide to study. Focus on your weak areas. No need to study what you already know! I felt this was extremely useful. When I took the DRT exam the 2nd time, I passed all categories. My board exams were a breeze after preparing this way. A few days before the FNP, I watched quite a few Cohen Review videos on RU-vid. I also worked with a guy me and friends got referred to…I found her information to be helpful. I also recommend the RU-vid channel Dirty Medicine. His channel is geared towards USMLE test takers, but many of the concepts are the same. His mnemonics for remembering diabetes medications and anemias are fantastic! Good luck with boards 🙂
I also did the ACNP and FNP certs..I did the masters first with ACNP was an ICU nurse so decided to do that one but now I know I could have got FNP and stayed in my ICU then I got my DNP and did FNP..I passed both on first try,,I did Fitzgerald for my ACNP and study on my own with FNP and got a perfect score with my FNP (was only a NP for 1 year)..I think some people just have a lot of anxiety because a lot of them are very smart but going into an exam with anxiety will make you fail..I pictured in my mind the exam was a great preceptor I had who asked alot of questions so I put myself in the bedside scene while answering my questions and it helped alot too..🙏🏿👩🏾⚕️❤️
I also used Barkley for my ACNP along with the ANCC review and passed the ANCC with ease. I am now preparing for my AANP for my FNP and I am currently using Barkley again along with Leik and Brittani. I thought about doing ANCC for FNP as since I used them for my ACNP but my friends all took AANP and highly recommend I take that one as well. So we shall see how it goes next month. 🤞🤞🙏🙏🍀🍀. Good luck to all those testing.
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than her studies after writing the AANP test last month she passed and i failed, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got help from Mr marcus
Posting here for all you nervous future NP’s this channel is sooooo worth investing your time in! Like so many of you I was desperate to seek out as much information as possible regarding the AANP. I completed the Hollier review, read LEIK lord knows how many times and practically memorized Latrina Walden’s bronze crash course. I can say this channel provides accurate, concise information that correlates well with all the resources I used. I PASSED my exam today and say this channel helped me so much in addition to all my other resources. The test is like they say fairly straightforward and if you but in the hard work a very fair exam. You can do this! Brittani thanks so much girl you helped a ton!
I definitely wouldn't stress your self out trying to memorize the entire immunization scheduling, however I do believe there are a few you should know going in. Specifically those that haven't changed/ don't intend to change. For example, hep B & Tdap are good to be familiar with.
What did you get on your predictor? I got 60% and feel devastated 😢. I will be completing remediation 2 weeks before the end of my last semester. I was so upset and went and spent on Fitzgerald and leik book 😅
Thank you for the information. I think some of these test backs make things harder than needs be, especially FNP mastery. I am not a fan of FNP mastery.
Oh my gosh.. I did the APEA ...and got 50% was terrible. felt like down. I purchased Fitzgerald.. I don't know if I did the right choice? People said that cohen or Sarah M ? which one should I pick?
Thank God. I am testing tomorrow and I have taken two predictors and did worse on the second than the first and was feeling discouraged. I am thankful I found this.
Oh my goodness - just did one of Barkley's DRT exams and did miserably and I can 110% say it knocked me down pretty hard.. hearing you say they're bad predictors just made me much better!
@@nursedeenice9873 He help with some questions and answers which you will see on your exam day i will advice you to call him for a help and you really need to study the materials he will give to you
You are a lifesaver!!!!! I just scheduled my exam I am so nervous. Do you recommend any of the live webinars like APEA or Leik?? Thank you so much for all these helpful tips.
I took mine last month and I passed. I was nervous too. I worked with one guy I was referred to by a fellow student who he had help in her preparation. I also watched RU-vid videos and used some books. I Wish you luck.
Thank you for this! I take my AANP tomorrow and todays plan is to re-watch all of your videos. I have been very discouraged until now because of a APEA predictor exam I failed terribly.
This is going to sound dumb but I have always had a problem remembering classifications some are easy because I have health with them forever but I need a better way to remember them does anyone have tips.
My school required the APEA predictor test. When I was in nursing school, I didn't really like getting out of the testing center and everyone in the class would be whispering and asking what score everybody got. I didn't really like this at the time because I'm generally a private person and have never cared about sharing my scores with anybody. After the predictor test, though, I was curious how I did compared to everybody else. I knew that my score was above the national average but I felt like it was lower than I thought it would be. Being an online school I don't have classmates to see how they did to see if I'm either not doing good at all or if I'm doing good.
Thanks for the suggestions. I listened to you and did not take another predictor exam, already took two (one required) and, did not make the recommended score to pass the boards. Agree it hurt my confidence. I also scheduled a massage two days prior to my exam. Great idea, Brittani. Passed the first time. Thumbs up for your help.
Believe me ,what ever you do never give up finally I've become an FNP on my 3rd attempt , I can’t believe I almost gave up after not making it for the 2nd time ,fortunately for me I was recommended to a tutor by my friends
*_I tried Fitzgerald, youtube, Barkley and associates and some others and still failed 4 attempt. I feel so frustrated don't know what to do anymore._*
@Jason Gilbert I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than her studies after writing the AANP test last month she passed and i failed😢, i asked her how she did it, just found out she got help from Mrs Amelia
@aliana The 3 C's of Life is: choices, chances, Changes You must make a Choice to take a Chance or your life will never Change. Amelia helped me and two of my friends pass the exam few years ago you're lucky I still have her info
