The RN says she still gets emotional... I didn't even know the patient, and I'm getting emotional 😭 I love the nurse's compassion to be with her at the end.
I had been an RN for over 30 years. From Critical Care, Emergency Room, Cardiac Step-down, Med-Surgical , Occupational and Hospice. I learned so much from my patients in Hospice. Memories that will last me a lifetime and I miss all of them I cared for!
Thank you so so much. You’ve helped my fears and anxiety of losing a loved one and facing it when it’s your time. My wish is and has always been to not die alone.
As a Healthcare Aide yes Nurses are amazing however working in Palliative care over 12 years the number of residents I've watched pass to the other side😪We've had volunteers sit with those who had no family. Before Covid, things we're easier in a way. Now it makes it more difficult. There are happy things in my job, heartbreaking moments, and I remember this one time I had this confused resident. The resident started singing "Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog" and I started singing along with them. The resident passed in the following week but I always remember that😄
