WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS NEW MASTER DUEL EVENT? 

Nah if Konami made actual constructed decks that showcase the three archetypes, this would’ve been an amazing event

Correction: You can choose between which flavor of brick you would like to build your house out of.

The worst part isn't the short event, or the bad rewards. It's that the decks are just unplayable. The best way to get wins is to try a bunch of times until your draw the 3 card combo in your deck and your opponent bricks

not gonna lie that loop was cleaner than my scooping to kashtira after my zones are locked.

This duel trial wasted a good 40 minutes of my life because I kept bricking with the synchrodeck.

Reminder that this event is most likely just an extra thing they're trying out and does not replace the normal ones which have gem rewards.

I honestly think a "duel trial" should be the best 3 decks in master duel competitively as loaner decks to give a better analysis for future banlists.

I think they were just testing the waters of introducing smaller events with big events. I like the idea of playing for packs, I think 10 wins for five or 15 wins for ten would have been better. It might have also been better if it were an exclusive pack that you can't get normally that's a mish mash of some current popular deck cards or have it be a mix of old nostalgia cards. Either way I'm glad the game is making effort to expand the kind of events they introduce

It's so funny how the utopia deck is just miles better than the other two. Needing named materials is such a huge detriment to a strategy, it is unreal. While heroes have to wait to get a way to fuse their stuff and draw the 2 correct materials, and the yusei deck has to get the correct levels + a named tuner on the field, the Yuma deck just summons 2 4s, and either starts equipping zexal weapons from there, of if you were lucky, you rank it up once.

Nothing like playing a bunch of bricky decks filled with one-of's to make me want to experiment! I really liked the joke of how they put majestic dragon in the yusei deck, like I'd somehow be able to summon it. And My spright pack was all commons. 10/10

Also, I’m pretty sure it’s fairly clear which deck(s) are better, right? Fusion as a whole is so limited, and they have only 1 copy of each card, polymerzation included. The synchro boss monsters are lacking a bit in the power department, especially with Majestic being unable to stick around. Meanwhile, xyz is made for summoning level/rank 4 monsters, and has a lot of cards that can take advantage of that. Going by stats as well, Utopia is very much so in the lead with all of the ZW cards they have access to, and I believe removal is sparse, but I might be wrong since I only played 3 games of this.

I love how MBT mastered the translation loop. Mostly you can here the transition loop

I tried this at first with the synchro deck and kept bricking and being able to do absolutely nothing. When I would have been able to FINALLY summon Stardust, my opponent surrendered and after that bricking again. I switched to the XYZ one and after getting this "reward" I can only say that event sucks.

Me after getting 3 wins: "That's it?"

It looks like they have an idea of what they want to do, but they have no clue on how they want to actually execute it.

I genuinely like this event but yeah they really should up the rewards for it. I never even knew sealed deck formats were a thing until this exact event and I've been playing many different CCGs for years.

As someone that returned to playing since I stopped in 2009, I like this event as it's simpler and I can learn about the cards and practice the different summoning

Honestly this was a fun event. The decks definitely needed balancing though. XYZ was by far the best deck and on the other side you have Heroes where half the deck is bricks for fusions except you can't even fusion cause you're playing 2 unsearchable fusion spells.

1) The decks were horrendous. I played the synchro deck and couldn’t out a “neo spacian hummingbird” with 800 atk for 4 turns. My opponent had 12700 LP. 2) But the XYZ deck has easy ways to summon Utopia and equip it with those ZW pieces. 3) Either you play a Synchro deck, loaded with bad tuners and ungeneric synchros, so that “Armory Arm” is the best option, because it is a 1000 atk equip spell. The other option is hero, whose best card is Bladeedge. A fusion deck with E-Hero Avian and a bunch of normal and a single polymerisation. Or you play XYZ, which can easily summon a 6000 atk monster with trap and monster negation.

I actually had a lot of fun playing this event. Got way more wins than losses with the Synchro deck and had some great moments and interactions.

I pulled normal and rares only from my pack... After nearly killing myself trying to make one synchro with yusei's "Deck"

I freaking love it, it's perfect can jump in and play with no need to stick around it's refreshing this is a fun escape from the traditional yugioh format that no other event has presented me

I'd like to take a moment to say: I love this style of shorts where the end perfectly loops into the first words. The event is fun for what it is, getting to play such "peak Yugiboomer duels". Strangely satisfying, when you brick to no end, somehow still survive and suddenly make a comeback on turn 15 thanks to a godly topdeck. Also had a fun one, where I did like 14k damage because of Double or Nothing and 4 equips/ attack boosts. BUT I really hope there will be more in terms of events this month. For now we have these 3 rounds of those trial thingies, each lasting a few days and probably each with a single pack as reward...sounds a bit less then the regular 3k+ event-gems per month. Hits especially hard since we have all those anniversary sales going on right now.

It could have been better if the decks they gave you weren't literal toilet water. It took me an HOUR to win 3 times cuz I kept bricking HARD.

Honestly glad this event is only 3 games long. The decks are full of bland negate attack/cant be killed by battle once style cards that they're a slog to play. That and utopia is just objectively the best of the 3.

So glad I only had to fight two hero mirrors and a synchro when Prisma and Grand Mole where glued to my hand all 3 games but only 1 fusion chance that was Darkbright for game

It feels less like a event and more like an experiment

There is a lot of fun to be had but SOOO much room for improvement

Maybe if the xyz deck wasn't so clearly the best deck of the format this event could've been interesting.

I used the synchro one for 3 wins, 1 was a surrender, another also surrendered once I had junk gardna, then the last one surrendered when I was able to attack with 2 monsters.

If you were to tell me some intern churned this thing out in 5 minutes, I’d believe you. Least this one can basically be done in 20 minutes. There’s that as an upside.

The event almost reminds me of dueling my brother years ago with our “Has the same name/star/type” piles. Not exactly…. exiting but very nostalgic

This event basically translates to whoever doesn't brick first wins. I played 3 duels in a row with each deck and every time I managed to brick. Either I got a hand full of spell cards I couldn't do anything with or a hand full of spells and one monster. Even I can make a more consistent deck than the precons in this event and that is really saying something.

Seriously though, I'm gonna yell it from the mountaintops for the umpteenth time: INTRODUCE BEST OF 3 MATCHES!

When this was first announced i was excited, because in the normal events i can only play the loaner decks as i don't have the time nor gems to build a good deck within the limitations just for this time. And of course it gets frustrating running into people who obviously have the better decks because well... not all loaner decks are good. And now we get this measly reward which actually is kinda sad, but still i would love more events like this happening just because its a breath of fresh air of running into the same decks 90% of the time on ladder

I was stuck in like a 20 turn stalemate between a beefed up Utopia and my shooting star dragon and it was so boring

Got lucky. Won 3/3. Pulled absolutely nothing. never looked bad

I should see if my locals have sealed structure format. Because I suck at deck building

this event is basically just pray you draw grand mole but it still takes 16 turns

This event was so fun for me, it's just so sad that it's short

I picked the Stardust deck. Everyone played the same deck, and all my opponent's surrendered soon after I summoned my first Synchro monster. It had so much potential.

I picked the Zexal deck, two people insta scooped, the third I just ranked into Utopia and equipped all the weapons from my hand and hit a dopple warrior token for game. After stalling with Cowboy burn and gogogaga cards.

In that one pack i manage to pull the missing exosister martha

Hope they never do an event like this. Lack of variety sucks too and it all comes down to who draws better there's literally no skill involved

Just cleared the event with Hero’s 3 wins, 0 loses even stared down a quesar with 4 attacks

I loved this event. My first game went 20 turns and I came back to win with 200lp and beat the synchro deck with the heroes. It was the most refreshing duel I’ve ever had on this site. I played it a bunch. It felt like old yugioh

It was pretty worth since I got 2 URs in the free pack

i am still waiting for tag team duels hope we will get it someday

Playing an utopia deck with mosters below lvl 4 and only being able to change their lvl by using some 3 turn setup and only if u dont brick. Also this might be the best one of the 3 decks

i only completed this when 2 consecutive opponent surrendered

this event unironically is the first event i seriously grind in months

Only deck I played against (and as) is Xyz. Waiting for the next wave to be a bit more diverse (I know I’m not helping it lol)

Actually mtg arena has the same type of event occasionally. Usually only worth 50 coins and a rare wildcard. It's just a lil pop up, play if you want but you're not missing out by passing on it.

Ok, just a small correction, this is not a real event, we will have another event with the regular prizing (3100gem+some) but this is just a short something that will get for the whole month, if i remember right 1 minievent each week, so it is jist a bonus thing

Kinda want a rival duel event. Like, Yugi vs Kaiba or Jaden vs Zane. Each player chooses 1 side and can't change it. Then they play against a player who chose the rival deck. MD counts the total wins of all players of each side and the side with most wins do receive an extra price. I mean, the rivals are limited and they would need to make decks that have current cards but are still focused on the play style of the characters (GX chars mainly do focus on fusion so no xyz etc allowed in the loaner decks but the decks could have current monsters or spell traps that do support the main play style)

The stardust one is literally unplayable. I think the hero one is the best.

I wont lie, brick fest is actually super fun, sure it long and unoptimal, but my first match being a hero mirror was probably the most invested I've been in a duel in a long time.

I won a playmat at nationals for the structure deck event was super fun

It’s really challenging to actually win 3 times with these decks. I went 68 turn one duel from both players getting our one combo off then throwing bricks at eachother

It basically has no rewards, but sins it came out play at least a couple of duels per day. its kind refreshing after 20 runic splight matches, even if the utopia deck its clearly the better one

I think if it was more like the other events and had a sort of "win x times win this many gems" it would be a lot more rewarding. Maybe some better decks, but it still has potential.

It was weird playing 2012 format to get a spright pack and unlocking power Pro royals after... weird event

An anime based deck is a pretty good concept especially if they make actual viable decks , i like the idea of putting every card into 1 copy but some decks desperatly need some key cards like junk synchron or utopia or stardust...

Duel Trial has a lot of potential to be a sampler of decks much like the Loaners in Festivals without being power crept by the collections of players allowing for a proper "try before you buy." The thing that tanks the whole operation is the decks are poorly made and unrepresentative of how they play in Master Duel Standard Format along with the extremely lackluster reward and short campaign.

I went with the elemental hero deck for lolz cause i looked at the other 2 and was like the xyz one is defiantly the most consistant the synchro could make plays if opened up right then I ended up going 3-0 wins with E heroes against one synchro and two xyzs

At first I thought it would be fun to have a slower event, where it kinda felt like you were in the anime. But nah, you have to commit 5 cards to summon stardust dragon and and it goes away with neo mole

I kinda like it, played my 3 games got reqard got out. Its a nice change of pace and got to play some like ramped up version of a 2014 starter deck

As a first version i think its fine, it Was fun at least, playing with the 5d's theme in the backround

This feels like PTCGO Structure torneys you had to do to get coins early on... except you can play with the Heliolisk structure deck, the meostik deck or the Tag team charizard deck. Damn I wonder which one is the best deck! (Spoiler: it's the zard one, a big guy who nukes with low settup is insane)

I got a glossy Spright Elf from it so worth it I guess. Deckbalance was ass though, Utopia with an ZW armament was basically an ftk in this event

This event was everything I wanted and asked for. Im so dying to play the game but just done want to deal with trying to construct a full deck and I love knowing the full cards in my opponents deck BUT then they made the decks almost unplayably bad and no rewards.

I actually won all 3 games in a row with Utopia because I figured being a basic rank 4 xyz deck that it would be the most consistent, and I was right.

It'd be cool if they let you play one of the constructed decks then after x wins/points you get to keep it

I'm probably in the minority, but I think that event was more aimed towards casuals/anime fans. I know I enjoyed playing slower games and feeling like an MC. I used Heroes mainly and other than 2 games where I bricked, I had fun with it. Side note. One of my bad games had me open with 2 traps and 3 polys then drawing 2 more after that

I made a point to get my three wins with the Jaden deck lol, I would love them to just retrain the Original Elemental Heroes with a Flame Wingman Retrain boss monster.

if they made the decks actually good then it might have been more fun but Jesus talk about brickfest.

The sad thing is, none of the decks have anything resembling draw cards. And the Utopia deck is the one that is the least DOA with bricks.

The stardust deck is the brickiest deck I've ever played, and it's insane how quickly the Utopia deck can snowball.

I personally love the event. Takes me back to when I was pirating yugioh in middle school. I really just wish it had more to it. Like this would reset after each three wins and dive you a random pack.

I was excited about the event at first, but having only 1 ofs in each deck makes the duels incredibly swingy. Drawing too many tuners/not enough, drawing odd levels in the XYZ deck, getting the wrong names in the HERO deck 😮‍💨 Make the loaner decks actually good and we've got a really cool format on our hands

Worth it for me. I got a glossy UR and 2 SR for dusting from the pack.

"Try out" what? A dogshit highlander anime deck that doesn't actually function? Sure, you've really sold me on building these decks!

It should be a pack every 3 wins maybe up to like 30 wins
