I have a sneaky suspicion that her EU trip a month ish ago was related to this 👀 hoping for Cult Beauty/Space NK since they are in the UK but have international shipping but my money is on Boots as a distributor for the UK Would happily part with a good chunk of my money if Naturium comes to the UK/EU 🙌🏻
Thank you Susan for this comprehensive video on skincare and highlighting how PERSONAL skincare can be. I love love LOVE your brand and I have been using it since the day you launch. You have handled your challenges starting your brand very professionally. For a brand owner to be transparent and honest about skincare and promotes other brands, is a breath of fresh air and peace. I can’t Thank you enough. Hope to meet you one day. Have a nice day ahead! 🙏🏼😇
"Is it possible to use too much HA?" If you live in a dry climate and have dry skin, YES. I just tried the Isntree HA watery essence and my cheeks hurt. I knew that I needed to continue staying away from dedicated HA serums. Seems like the only thing I can lock it in with that's occlusive enough is literal Vaseline
Yes! If a product emphasizes its HA, I won’t buy it and I have dry skin! I wish the beauty tubers understood that HA can actually dry out the skin depending on your environment (and skin type)
@@SusanJ-jt5ny I follow the advice of a dermatologist. There are tons of videos by people that haven't studied the science of skin care. There is everything from bad to dangerous advice/information.
@@sandijohnson4630 Even derms on youtube gush about HA. Two in particular, perhaps because they live in humid climes-Houston and Seattle by way of Hawaii
@@SusanJ-jt5nyThat's true. And that is why it's important to have an evaluation by a dermatologist first. HA is excellent for my skin. But not every product works for every person.
HI Susan! I So wish I could show u my medicine cabinet. I have now tried almost everyone one of your skin care products. And they are allllll Bomb. I'm 49 normal to dry in winter. Your plant based cream and rice cleanser have won my heart. I never miss a day on those. I'm kind of excited to have almost every product from your line. And once the budget allows me, I will have them all once I get your body wash. Anyways, ladies don't think on these products and so inexpensive. Susan, I don't know how u did this, but u did girl. Xoxo dana from pa
The only mix I do is my retinaldehyde with my moisturizer. I never experienced sensitivity or flakiness this way, and it was a method recommended by a dermatologist 😊
Puberty. Christ, I barely remember it. Menopause. Well. I remember that. Unfortunately back in the puberty days, there was the drugstore, and NOXEMA. No getting me a skincare routine. Instead I washed my face with Noxema. I guess I was worried about acne, but I never really had more than the occasional pimple. I shudder when I think of cleansing with Noxema. Oh, and mom was a nurse, for crying out loud. In my early 30s I started getting catalogs from a company called DHC, and I started mail ordering their Deep Cleansing Oil. Still using that today. It's bombe.
Sooo informative. What about copper peptides and vit c. Heard you can’t layer them together. Can I do one in the morning then the other mid day? Or is that too much? Thanks
A very helpful video. Thank you so very much. Though dear I have some questions that would be glad if you help me. I'm using a salicylic acid cleanser, then the Pixi glow tonic toner (which consists glycolic acid), and then Vit C. They are in low percentage but yet I'm wondering it is good and alright to use them this way? Also dear is there any problem to use a Niacinamide contained product (more or less than 2% on a serum or sunscreen) after applying Vit C? Thank you again for the video. 🌷
Hi Susan, sure am enjoying your products! They feel so good, gentle, yet effective! *My question is this - as you just said all your skincare then retinol last. I just heard a couple of weeks ago from a very popular skincare brand that after cleansing, toner/essence, retinol applied first (providing skin can handle it of course) makes it more effective. I’m confused* Thank you in advance for addressing this question. ❤️
It is more effective to use it before moisturizing. She's speaking about prescription strength. Sometimes to avoid sensitivity while trying to acclimate to high strength retinoid, you can use it after moisturizer. For example, I'm using prescription strength and layer it before moisturizing. But in the winter, I put it on top of moisturizer so it wouldn't be as harsh if my skin was already feeling a bit dry. People also do this if you're first starting prescription strength and it's too strong at first. Again this is different for everyone depending on what your skin tolerates
Well, I can't put on sunscreen and work out. No way. Not even Micellar Water will remove my European SPF. This stuff is rock solid. I would have to do a full on double cleanse to start my skin care if I just slapped on SPF to get sweaty. My skin is super dry. Super reactive. Super Sensitive. Did I say reactive? I mean, a double cleanse in the evening, god that took years to get to. I cannot scrub it off in the morning and start over, as that is a recipe for two weeks of inflamed skin. So. I work out in the morning, inside. Then I shower, layer on my Vitamin C, Lactic Acid and all, and then SPF, get dressed, throw on a hat, and go outside for 4.5 miles of walking, wearing a 20lb. vest. Yep. You bet I sweat. I come home and peel off my clothes, put on more SPF, wait a while and then do makeup. Yes, my bra is wet, who cares? I'm actually clean for like 20 minutes a day. Sweaty and smelly the rest of the time, thanks to my super sensitive 58 year old skin. But I will NOT go outside without SPF on. So that means all of it is on: HRT cream, body lotion, deodorant, Vitamin C, Lactic Acid, CoQ10 serum, AND, the final thing: La Roche Posay UVMUNE 400 Invisible Fluid, with the chemical that protects all the way to 400nm, where ALL SPFs everywhere fall down and FAIL. That chemical is Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate. With peak absorption at like 392 nm. I'm looking at you, Zinc Oxide. Read that and WEEP.
I like your use of the word "enthusiast" instead of "influencer." I know that when people watch RU-vid channels, they are being influenced, but when the channel creator calls themself an "influencer," to me it seems rather arrogant.
But if the thinner product contains oil like many serums, even toners, and then you have a (gel) moisturizer for instance ?? Which comes first? Because the oil in the toner will prevent absorbtion of the moisturizer
Thank you for this video! I have a question that I have had for a while. I use Tretinoin through curology and have for years. I also do use glycolic and salicylic acids (my skin is thick and breakout prone). I can’t seem to get past the flakey skin. It is constantly with me. I exfoliate to remove, but it is back the next day. How do I balance what i need to turn over cells and having smooth, non-flakey skin? Please if you could offer any guidance, it would be so appreciated!
Hi! Hope you’re doing well. Have you tried to just cleanse moisturise & use spf for 3-4 days? Maybe buffer the tretinoin with a moisturiser for a few days!
Sandwich your tretonion in between two moisturizers, first one light, second one heavier. How often do you use aha/bhas? should only use them 1-2x a week. If you’re using them more than 1-2x a week that could also be the cause of your dry, flaky skin
Speaking of layering products, how about hydrating toner & exfoliating liquid? Which one should go first if I use both and both happen to have same light texture..?
I think either way, the products will make their way into your skin and work. But I tend to use my exfoliators first, let them dry down, and then move onto anything hydrating. I want to exfoliant closest to my skin to really make sure I’m getting everything out of it. I also like to let my exfoliant dry a little so then the hydrating toner rehydrates my skin before moving on with my routine. I do not like to put my exfoliant on damp skin. Whatever makes your skin feel good is what is best for you!
Hello! Can u help me with deciding? I was gifted with Christian Breton undereye cream called Cellular Eye Lift Cream. Most reviews I read was positive and when I use it I think I see good outcome... but then this cream has mineral oil and alcohol listed and when I read about it, people wrote that it should be avoided. So, I cant decide what to do. Its pretty pricey and it looks like Christian Breton mostly makes eye creams with additional skin care. Ingredient list: Aqua (Water) • Glycerin • Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil) • Propylene Glycol Diethylhexanoate • Squalane • Glyceryl Stearate • Propylene Glycol • Dimethicone • Phenoxyethanol • Cetearyl Alcohol • Bisabolol • Tocopheryl Acetate • Butylene Glycol • Triethanolamine • Carbomer • Methylparaben • PEG-40 Castor Oil • PEG-8 • Propylparaben • Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate • Caprylyl Glycol • Disodium EDTA • Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract • PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether • Panthenol • Hedera Helix (Ivy) Leaf/Stem Extract • Phytic Acid • Sodium Hyaluronate • Escin • Sodium Polyacrylate • Ruscus Aculeatus (Butcherbroom) Root Extract • Ammonium Glycyrrhizate • Centella Asiatica (Hydrocotyl) Leaf Extract • Potassium Phosphate • Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract • Sodium Citrate • BHA • Biotin • Citric Acid.
So delighted seeing my broker talked bout on RU-vid, This was exactly how I got recommendation bout Mr Greg Gonzalez, At First I was a bit skeptical but eventually I gave him a trail with my little investment and I got huge profit.
Hi, can you please tell me if my rutines are ok? Night routine: Cleansing, toner Bioderma sebium, essence Zwyer skin perfecting essence with caviar, serum Vichy liftactiv B3, undereye serum Christian Breton liftox serum, Skincian Ageless overnight Retinol powerbalm, undereye La roche-posay Redermic Retinol, then I wait 20-25min and spray my face lightly with Lierac hydragenist and use moistruizer Huxley fresh and more (vit. E) with Caudalie vinosource overnight recovery oil and undereye Christian Breton cellular eye lift cream. Twice a week I use roller with spiies(?) Dunno how to call it. It helps with better absorbing products and when I use it I add vichy booster with hyaluronic acid. For morning: Cleanser, toner Mario Badescu alpha grapefruit cleansing lotion, Nip+Fab vitamin C fix, La roche-posay pure vit. C10 serum, Tony Moly Collagen emulsion, undereye cream Ch. Breton against blue light dark circles&puffines and moistruizer Vichy liftactiv collagen specialist with SPF25 (in summer I use Dr.Jart Water Drop and then Vichy cream with SPF50). Should I deffinitely drop something? I reseaeched about mixing retinol with b3 and then vit. E and it seems ok. And vit. C with collagen and hyaluronic acid. But still Im not sure since Im not cosmetologist. I will be very greatefull for help! Thanks!
To be honest, both routines look overwhelming! It looks like you’re using more than one Vitamin C product at the same time. Only need to use one at a time. First figure out what you’re trying to do: deal with acne, age spots, wrinkles, melasma, dry/oily skin or just maintaining what you have? Then use products that target your areas of concern. Keep your routine simple. A good cleanser, good moisturizer (good doesn’t mean expensive), Retinol, exfoliant, and sunscreen is all you really need. Only use an ex-foliant a few times a week, preferably at night and retinal is also best at night. Alternate using them, don’’t need to use them at the same time. And MOST important of all is sunscreen! Even indoors. Of course you can add serums or anti-oxidants but shouldn’t add more than a couple. If you use too many at once you’re more likely to encounter irritation and will have a harder time determining which products caused it and which products actually work. Introduce them one at a time, at least a month apart to see if the product causes irritation or you can see improvement in your skin. Read the ingredient list of your products. Know which ingredients are beneficial for YOUR skin and which ones aren’t. Hope this helps!
