Sometimes it isn't about taking responsibility, sometimes it could be certain neurodivergent tendencies, where the subject may experience burnouts, overstimulated, and especially if the subject's presence in other's lives is healing to them. Heck even healthcare workers barely have enough mental energy to look after themselves sometimes. Point is, a drained person isn't in a position to be of help ,or assistance, or even good company to anybody not even themselves. It isn't necessary a lack/lag, umless maybe if seen through societal standards aka the matrix, or a cynical view point, but not innerstanding of value of what their presence, or rather addition, does for a group, partnership, family, which is possibly balance:)
