This happened to me in 5th grade. My teacher gave me a snack, and I trusted her because she knew about my allergies. I was eating them and walk up to her and go "wow, these are the best gluten free oreos Ive ever had, where did you get them" and she realized what had happened and made me spit them out, i was sick for days. Now I dont trust things that taste really good.
Somehow my body gives me sensitive skin and no allergies just chemicals I have to avoid anyway I’m so sorry you have to miss out on stuff but good thing fruits and vegetables exist I could eat tomato’s for days straight
SAME!! In 5th grade my teacher gave me a cookie but the difference is that she said right in my face that it was gluten free, so I trusted her. After like, an hour I feel sick and have nausea so I supect that it might be gluten, but the others are like "Nah, that must be the muffin you eated for breakfast", even if I eat that muffin LITERALLY EVERYDAY and it never happends this. So we go downstairs for lunch and I start vomiting, so I call my mom to take me home, and since I didn't have a fever, she came with the conclusion that the cookie I eated must have had gluten. The next day my other theacher blames me for not checking the ingredients, even if the teacher who gave me the cookie literally didn't care to check if it had gluten or not and just assumed it was. Now I don't trust anyone when they give me something even if they say it's gluten free, I want to check the ingredients myself and if I can't see them because there isn't the container I just don't eat it out of fear
I made gf cup cakes for the first time last week and had to go cry afterwards. It had been… about 6 years. I used the GF King Arthur yellow cake mix and Duncan Hein’s GF buttercream frosting. I bought a set of piping tips and bags for the next time lol
I had a similar situation a few days ago 😂 we had family over for Father’s Day and my mom made brownies. There was a brownie batter bowl on the counter and me being the chocolate addict I am I took a huge spoon full and I was like omg! This taste like the real stuff. Then my mom turns around and says that’s the regular. As a teen with celiac I’ve been dying the past few days
I check labels and when I know I don't have to constantly check labels but I grabbed something a gluten free section in the freezer section like everything next to it was gluten free and mist of that brand is and then I had a feeling I was like wait this doesn't say gluten free on it. It was a day after I age them sadly
