It's not about being left wing or right wing - parties aligned to both sides may be equally stupid. It's about responsibility and actually helping the citizens of their countries rather than brawling each other for ideological differences to gain more votes. It is one thing to be patriotic, being against illegal immigration, standing against appeasement policy and being a faithful follower of some religion.
