What a positive attitude this raid group has! No one gets pissed that a mechanic gets messed up, they laugh it off and move on. This is the ideal raid experience!
For real. During the most recent tomestone event, I started a party for 10 runs of P1N. To this day, I still don't know why everyone left after 6 runs and then I joined a party started by someone that left and they immediately disbanded. Felt a little hurt that day, ngl.
Helps that they started months after the release and there was literally no point in sweating it, even more so with multiple players already knowing the fights inside out.
The 10S "guidance" you got was so beautiful. I feel like letting you die at least once to each mechanic - especially the really interesting ones like Tank Golf - was important to preserve The Savage Experience(tm)

I mean it does help a lot that Shen has access to guides that were tweaked across a few weeks and a group with great gear, but it is still impressive. Especially P10S, that fight is just "mechanic->body check->mechanic->body check" until the fight ends. And P11S being a striking dummy fight where three deaths is basically a wipe. P9S and P12S are pretty kind comparatively
I don't deny she is good at games. but she was carried by 7 bis people as well. my static has done the same thing with someone new, 3 days and they got all of them done.
just wanted to pop in and say you're one of the main reasons why i gave ffxiv another chance. before i came back to the game in march of this year, i had a super sour experience with someone i used to be friends with yapping in my ear to play a class i had no interest in playing whatsoever (black mage), but now im doing what i wanted to from the get go (dragoon) and im actually enjoying the game. so thank you for that.
It always sucks when someone forces you to try and play their way or what they want you to play. I started on Black Mage and I love it, but I know it's not for everyone. Glad you're enjoying Dragoon and XIV, though!

You’re ff14 videos despite possibly being spoilers for me are what got me into ff14 even before I was even able to play it. Now I have reached the end of heavensward 2 months in and am loving it. Thank you Shen!
For those confused: Shen did an alliance raid first (multiple encounters with 24 players), then an extreme (hard version of a “trial”, which is 1 fight against 1 boss with 8 players), and then savages (harder than an extreme, bread and butter of FFXIV raiding)

I did Asphodelos and Abyssos, and honestly, Savage raiding CAN be fun, as long as everyone in a group is roughly on an equal footing competence-wise, and you don't involve IRL relationships, because that shit gets messy.
I genuinely cannot tell if you enjoy or hate 10. So basically its about standard for the 10 experience. OH MY GOD SHE WAS TAUGHT TO STAND INSIDE THE BOSS FOR P12S LINE CHEESE! You have no idea how many wipes I've seen because the tanks insist on standing on the edge...

I started playing because I saw a video of yours around 2 years ago, I think it was the Titan UwU video. I'd been a fan of your content for a good 5 or 6 years now and occasionally lurked during a stream if I have time. I just decided to try the game out after seeing that Titan video, it just looked like a fun game to me. I don't think I even realized it was Final Fantasy. The game hooked me from the start. Over the last 2 years I've put around 1200 hours in and cried for at least a third of that. I'm just now getting into doing the harder content and doing crafters. Thank you for ruining my life with this game, it's been wonderful.

While I want to get back into FF14, I feel like I'll _never_ do savage content. It seems like too much planning/forethought/coordination for my ADHD-addled brain. Even looking at that stuff feels incomprehensible to me.

Never done current/ higher raids on ither game but Id do ff14 raiding any day over the bloody mess that is WoW's. Closest ill do is farm the older raids for glam's and mounts and that's it. also 10/10 dick smasher 9000 mechanics, would ride again.
I almost thought this was 7 years ago, holy shit I was about to have an existential crisis because it genuinely feels like you lose track of time as you get older. Also, I wish I could be in a chill group like this. All my past experiences have been rough so I decided to somewhat step away from the endgame scene (but I still play obviously). Its a dream of mine to have my Destiny raid team hop to FFXIV but they're not interested sadly

Yes it does! There are a variety of Extreme trials and Savage raids available to you in free trial. I recommend looking at Party Finder to see if anyone has a party up for them. You won't be able to make your own party, but you'll be able to join ones that have already been made. Extreme trials are challenging but not too hard. If you want more of a challenge, you can run Extreme trials at "minimum item level, no Echo", also known as MINE. Savage raids are a bit of a step up from Extreme, and you can also run those at MINE for extra challenge.
As a zero brain cell tank main tomboy who plays a male OC whom I love very much, and who can't wait to get into endgame raiding once I can finish MSQ, this video has rapidly become a comfort video for me this past week.
I would absolutely do savages, extremes, and even ultimates, but that would mean I'd have to "main" a class and "learn" its moveset. No thanks, I'd rather not know just how badly I've been playing all classes interchangably
