TL1-Unseen by us TL2-The timeline we are watching - Thawne had already gone to 2016 and returned back to his time and pieced together everyone’s identities -He goes to 2000 to kill kid Barry and erase the flash -He’s stopped by 2024 who also stops a younger flash from intervening. -He saved kid Barry and so thawne kills Nora instead. -This is what creates the paradox/new timeline in which he loses his speed because the OG flash’s origin has been altered by him and TL2 2024 Barry. -Now he has to become the catalyst for the flash getting his speed which would result in him get his speed. -He takes over wells body because of what he learned about 2016. -S1 plays out. He needs Barry to become fast enough to generate the the speed force to open a time portal. -But in doing so he becomes the very reason why 2024 knew to tell his younger self to stop. 2024 Barry was pulling the strings the entire time. That’s why thawne offered him a chance to save his mom. He knew that if Barry did it then it would create a paradox because of 2024 Barry purposely letting him kill his mom and saving his younger self. Thawne eventually gets erased and this cycle continues all because TL2 2024 knew all this would happen. Nora death then becomes a set point in that timeline and it HAS to happen in order for everything that happens before it and after it to happen. Now it’s basically a cycle that has no real beginning nor end. Thawne basically killed himself

This show never made much sense to begin with, the entire episode is claiming Barry doesnt know why Thawne is in this time period, when he should already know, it claims that Nora dying is a fixed point in time, but Nora dying is a Flashpoint Paradox in of itself, Thawne in S1 already explained that our Barry is the result of an altered timeline. The only explanation that would make all of this make sense, is if this S9X10 Barry is the OG Barry and we are seeing the true origin of the show, what really happened before the show started.

I just realised you're completely right. In season 1 Barry is the more immature and, passionate, and impulsive one while Thawne is experienced and calm for most of it. In season 8 Thawne is the more passionate, immature and angered one and Barry is the more mature and experienced one. It has been proportionately reversed across the show. Wild.

There is no such thing as a "new Crisis timeline" for Thawne. Crisis happens in 2024 in the OG timeline. Thawne is from 2400 something. Thawne is already from long after Crisis so it wouldn't matter to him when it happens.

@@bistay9157 The Negative Speed Force only makes Thawne himself immune to timeline changes and only really if he's the one making them. It does not however make his entire timeline immune to changes. Save for his memories the pre-season 1 timeline is completely gone in every way. Simply making sure Barry becomes the Flash would not have restored things to how he knew them.

Secondly, I think that Nora’s death wasn’t a fixed point yet because somewhere in the flash season 1-3, they elaborated that it takes time for the timeline to cement, so I think thawnes plan was to lure barry in a flashpoint kind of situation while he gets to go back home, therefore creating 2 separate timelines, but then again, due to CW lazy writing, they wont elaborate abt the subject.

It's only fixed in the sense that NOW that the new timeline Thawne created by killing her has "hardened" if you prevent her death you prevent yourself from preventing her death. Because it's been 15 years, where Barry's Flashpoint was only like a few weeks. Why Barry didn't lose his speed immediately like Thawne did is beyond me but yeah you're right most of the writing is so whack. Like when they "fixed" Flashpoint. For one. Why not stop yourself from creating the Flashpoint instead of preventing that from happening in the first place? Oh because then they'd never go back to "fix" it? Makes sense until the Barry that caused it faded out meaning he never becomes the Barry that "fixes" it. @@sutharnisarg right. The only way any of this works is if, in this version of events, season 2 barry never came back to stop thawne, and post-flashpoint thawne never came back to kill Nora again. That would mean that the events of and leading up to flashpoint no longer exist, and the only evidence that they ever did exist is in the changes made to the main timeline as a result of flashpoint and in Barry's memories of the pre-flashpoint main timeline and the alternate timeline, the same way that the original timeline where nora lives no longer exists, but we know that it did at one point because thawne remembers how things played out in that timeline.

I've been thinking about this too. It makes more sense if they stopped S2 barry from saving his mom. Maybe they go back to the porch and s2 barry fades and s3 barry takes over? Thawne could have just been taunting him about killing his mother but means letting his original self kill Nora. Then he runs to Legends S2. That's my theory anyway.

After all with his mother alive in the OG timeline he never became the flash, Wally did, and this comment says that Barry’s mom dying wasn’t as big a deal as the OG Wells dying. Thawne replaced Wells in the timeline to keep Barry as the flash and get back to his time eventually. But if not replaced, Wally may have once again become the flash.

You can't change the year a Fixed Point happens. That's a pretty huge detail whether time travel is involved or not. Nora doesn't die in 2000 in the original timeline and where's it's guardian? Every Fixed Point has a guardian. but also no, Wally did not become the Flash in the OG timeline, he was the Flash in Flashpoint, which makes no sense in any way. They just pulled that out of their ass so they had a reason to give him powers.

@superavenger63 Our Season 9 Barry is now the OG Barry post crises since due to crises along with all the earths,every timeline was erased as well including the OG timeline.Then Earth-Prime was created by Oliver which only had one single timeline and no other alternate timelines.This single timeline is basically the show’s timeline that we are seeing from season 1.Oliver could’ve made the Earth-1 original timeline but since he did not want to change anything major in the Earth Prime timeline,he made the Arrowverse timeline back again and made it the original timeline so it was not a timeline made by Eobard Thawne killing Barry’s mother but a timeline that was there since the dawn of time.And the reason I am saying that Earth Prime has one single timeline,even though Barry has time travelled countless times creating alternate timelines,is because in this Earth-Prime timeline all screw-ups of Barry are now points that are always supposed to happen meaning they are now fixed points.This means that all the mistakes of Barry that we are seeing from season 1 are not mistakes anymore post crises and the timeline is intact which was not the case in the Earth 1 timeline which had countless alternate timelines.

No, Barry was not supposed to die punching the satellite. He was GOING to if Nora hadn't helped but that doesn't happen in the original timeline. Cicada escaped. He was "the one that got away". He becomes the Flash at a later time than he does in S1 and he was supposedly smarter and stronger than the main Barry. In the original timeline Barry's daughter Nora doesn't exist. She only exists in this timeline because her grandmother was killed.

Now with this episode the cycle starts again and its so good seeing lots of barrys at the same time
