@@alprofit Hey Al. Love the work. Any chance you could do a story on the OJ/Fargo connection? OJs buddy was running a non violent coke ring for close to 20 years. I think it was 20 years. That's about when he opened his first bar.
You gotta remember that in the early days of The NOI a large portion of the FOI were recruited while in prison. You didn’t have a lot of Doctors and Lawyers in the NOI back then. It was a lot of former street dudes. Reformed thugs. They weren’t afraid of the Italian Mafia in the least. Ali was like thee only big name boxer not controlled by the Mob.
@@alprofit I'm a Michigan resident Higgins elementary Wilson Junior high School and then move to the suburbs graduated from Edsel Ford high School in 1978. Join the military . Vernor highway . ✌️
Great read I’m not a big reader but got it at the airport to read on the plane and couldn’t put it down. It would make a quality movie or even better a series
A story you might want to look into is professional wrestling's Jerry "the King" Lawler's kid Brian Christopher(aka Brian Lawler) who died while being held in Hardeman county jail under very mysterious circumstances. The story is too long to explain here, but going just from memory Brian Christopher had a habit, gets popped for driving under the influence, he was no stranger to county jail, had a personal beef with some c.o.'s, they set up a fight to teach him a lesson, Christopher got the better of fight, further infuriating officers and then he is found hanging in his cell and as i recall, he wasnt facing serious time where a person might decide to "opt out". The whole thing doesn't seem to add up. And some of them Southern county jails are run like little fiefdoms. I know Jerry Lawler filed a lawsuit against Hardeman county and the sheriff of Hardeman county.
Ali would never let someone take a fall for him ever , he stood ten toes down, Ali was the greatest , but non the less I been rocking with you for years now
John Sutton ALSO needs a documentary, fascinating to get the perspective of an African American in law enforcement (especially at the Federal level) and what that must have been like.
They really left him stinkin'😔I would put my money on the Mafia and his lady definitely was complicit in it. She just happened to go on a trip, only returning back once the deed was done.
We had boxing matches called smokers at Nottaway prison in Virginia in 2004. We also had basketball matches against out of state inmates from Connecticut that guards used to bet on at Wallens ridge super max in 2003.. we had slippers on and they had js on
Speaking of the mob pushing "H" onto the black community, did you ever see that "60 Minutes documentary from back in the late 70's early 80's about corruption in the Chicago PD part of which showed two CPD uniformed officers dealing "H" out of their marked patrol car parked in a lot right on 47th street on the South Side, in fact that lot was right around 47th and Indiana if I recall rightly.
It was a rigged fight. Period. Besides that, he was more powerful than Ali, tho Ali was great, too. The speculation makes for good entertainment, but we'll NEVER know the real truth...🤷🏿♂️
It kind of makes no sense that Sonny Liston had the mobs backing, but the Nation of Islam pressured him to take a dive in the Ali fight? That makes no damn sense, the mob backing down to the Nation of Islam? Is it possible?
Not only did Ali clearly beat Liston in their 1st fight but Listen also CHEATED in that fight when his cornerman temporarily blinded Ali in the middle rounds by putting some substance on Liston's gloves! As for their 2nd fight that KO punch clearly landed on Liston's face and dropped him!
