We're asking the wrong question. The question should not be "why didn't victor tell himself the correct equation." The question should be "why is is necessary for earth to be destroyed so humanity can progress?" Because the unity is an enitity with access to a theoretically infinite universe. So logically, there must be a universe where both earth survives and humanity conquers the stars. Yet in all the New Game plus universes we never see that, nor do we find empty worlds where everything is destroyed. You could just say "hurr durr Bethesda can't write." I think there is more too it.

And to be honest most of these sky scrapers would be gone by then as the materials in that atmosphere like metal would have eroded away leaving only stone structures. Science even says in 10k years if humans went away now. Only old stone structures would remain with the debris of our civilization. SO while our buildings will crumble in 20k years the pyramids will still be standing. Looking wayyyy different but they would still be there.

What blows my mind is how everyone is 'meh/whatever' about Earth by the time of the game events. It's not like Earth is missing or just a myth like in Battlestar Galactica or isaac Asimov's Foundation's Edge/Foundation and Earth. Also I wonder how many people were left behind on Earth in Starfield. Human numbers seem to be rather low for what was supposed to be a mass exodus.

@jvazacas
@jvazacas 6 месяцев назад
@@thelvadam5113 well it was the artifacts. Humans were told how to bend space, they didn't figure it out. Victor's slate described him talking to himself. That's what happens at Unity. His vision was that of Unity, and he told himself how to use the artifact to create the grav drive.
@thelvadam5113

That's one of the issues with the game. A lot of passion went into this thing. But it's hidden and as a result the game is bland on the surface. The mystery of what killed earth and why, that should be the actual plot of the game. But it's not. Just a side quest that goes nowhere.
@Singeferno
@Singeferno 6 месяцев назад
Maybe he did not know how to solve the Grav-Drive problem, but he thought telling himself would give the other him more time to solve the issue. And in the end, he was right. They did solve the problem, but it was too late. Then, there's the issue of why he did not warn him of what happened. This could also be because he figured his other self would not pursue the technology if he knew the outcome.

He said on a live stream that the videos simply don’t do very well unfortunately. He says he has a bunch of footage for a few more videos that he really wants to make, but aside from that it’ll be waiting until the game becomes more popular. Hopefully between the first DLC and updates it’ll become better and more popular.
@QualityPen
@QualityPen 5 месяцев назад
@@UpperDarbyDetailingDLC and updates won’t fix core structural issues in the game. That takes mods but I can say from very extensive modding experience that mods which refactor quest or world content are rare because they are difficult to make and an absolute compatibility nightmare. I was actually kind of looking forward to Starfield but I returned it after 2 hours and noticing numerous red flags based on previous experience with Bethesda games. I watched for reviews and those red flags I noticed were confirmed and worse than I thought possible. From being railroaded in quests to uninspired uninteresting worlds to nonsensical and physically impossible guns… No thanks. If I ever pick it up, it will be in 5-10 years once the modding community has disassembled and reassembled it. The modding scene is what has made Skyrim and Fallout 4 playable for me. If you enjoy the game stock - I have no idea how you do it, but good for you. I’m not saying you shouldn’t. But me and many others won’t engage with Starfield or Starfield content for a long time because it hasn’t made a good impression with us.

My answer to your question at the end Ox is this, (Spoilers if you haven't finished the game yet) assuming this version of Victor was Starborn, and he'd lived through multiple versions of his own discovery of the grave drive, it must have been the ones where the earth became uninhabitable that the settled systems actually developed into what it is. thus, when his self in this timeline touched the mars artifact and he was able to give himself the calculations for the Grav drive, it's entirely possible he decided to Not give him the grav drive that wouldn't cause the Sputtering of the earth's atmosphere because he knew that for the settled systems to happen Earth had to be lost. this is pure speculation on my part, but that seems to be the most likely answer given the multi-verse they are aiming for. But you have to wonder, what would the settled systems be like if Earth hadn't needed to be abandoned. what would have happened in the Colony war? or would the Colony War have happened at all? that's the biggest issue with Multi-verse anything, you can literally make the case for anything happening.

I always got the impression that Victor did tell him what would happen and even gave himself the choice of not causing the Earths destruction, but doing so would have set back humanities exploration of the rest of the galaxy. Victor just chose to go with the Earth dies and humanity spreads across the galaxy option. My crackpot theory is that it wasn't Victor giving himself information, but whoever was that created the unity, as humanity moving to the stars and the constant traveling through the unity was something that they wanted for whatever reason. Now how would this entity have fooled Victor into thinking it was him giving him the information? Starborn can call on alternate versions of others to fight for them, so having them stand in and tell their other selves what they want to hear shouldn't be outside of the abilities of whoever created the unity.

Q. Why is earth so wiped out after only a couple hundred years!? Somehow losing gravity and an atmosphere destroyed everything down to sand?!?? Several stone pyamids, seriously ?. Bethesda being lazy. What kills me about this game... Bethesda is owned by Micro$oft.... Why don't all of the computers run some sort of of "Windows 10" (You know the last OS you will never need per Micro$oft, wait, there is 11 now hmm). There is no trademark problem and it would imply Micro$oft os so awesome that people still use Windows.

clearly the other Victor Knew and did not tell his self about the "error" because there was none...it was intentional so that Humankind as a whole would be Forced to Leave before they fell victim to themselves. Since Prime Victor has been to more than one universe Id hazard to guess that somewhere along the way a Humanity with a Perfect Grave drive stayed mostly home and died out because they never dispersed.

I like your content and you do it well. I don't like this plot element and the holes in it. It feels thrown together just because Bethesda didn't want to model Earth accurately (which I know would have made the game a few terabytes or more). There's no reason Victor would see another version of himself who knows the far future. He couldn't have encountered another version of himself because he never went to the Unity. It makes no sense the scientists wouldn't have shut off the prototype. It's not adequately explained that the damage to Earth was permanent. It makes no sense this other version of Victor wouldn't give him the fix for the grav drive to prevent the issue in the first place. That would have allowed humanity to expand to the stars and keep Earth alive. Bethesda could have done a better job buttoning up the plot holes or gone with some other reason for not being able to visit Earth at all.
@TheStardustConspiracy
@TheStardustConspiracy 6 месяцев назад
I do wonder if Victor reached the unity when he talked with himself, it could be possible that the reason why the other victor didn’t warn him about the gravity drive error was because he never experienced it on his universe or because he deem necessary to destroy the earth in order to move humanity into the stars.
@GokuBlackRose978

Either way, it was too late, I doubt victor would be able to stop it, seems like he wanted to be left behind incase anyone tried figuring out the truth on How he was able to make the grav drive, good thing too, artifacts are dangerous and imagine dealing with the starborn wayyyy before the exodus, that would suck reallllllllll bad

My guess is that the people from other universes hadn’t solve the problem that caused earth to lose the magnetic field, his other self knew this and warned his this was gonna happen but they hadn’t figured out how to fix it and our universe, the one where game takes or maybe the onces where the emissary or hunter are from were the first ones to do it. When you mess with multiple universes pretty much all the rules go out the window.

Great video as always. Honestly, I think the reason that alternate Victor didn't give Victor the proper way to create a grav drive without destroying the earth is a simple one. Humans are creatures of habit. A majority of the population wouldn't leave earth to explore the universe or move to a different planet if earth was ok. The only way to successfully move humanity from earth into the stars was to destroy earth, giving those creatures of habit no other choice but to embrace the change.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this...but if it was the future (or alternate) version of Victor, he probably gave him the incorrect way to make the grav drives to force the hand of humanity. If they did not have to leave earth, how many would have actually left? This way the best and brightest would be incentivized to leave to save themselves and their families. Just my two cents.

Victor sounds familiar like I've watched him in movies or other games and how deeply buried is the NASA place those towers are very tall irl but we only see the top half of it 200 years later

We need a Whip to drive on moons and other planets. Instead of hoppi ng or worse running due to low gravity

Earth is the perfect example of everything that's wrong with Starfield the most interesting planet reduced to a handful of snow globes...

Seeing a barren, lifeless Earth in Starfield really shook me up more than it should have in a video game.

At this point in the game was the moment I said "f*** this game!" I could probably go into an hour's long rant on the ridiculousness that is Earth in this game, but I'm mostly angry at Bethesda for thinking that this would slide with us. There were better ways to deal with Earth because of a lack of time money or resources.

Ok, the biggest plot hole is no one, but "Victor Issa's" alternate self has figured out time travel, or did that alternate self get an extremely lucky universe hop? Going thru the Unity resets the time when a player exists in the new universe but never seems to throw a player back hundreds of years, so plot device, unbelievable luck? Without the one alternate Victor Issa that wanted to and managed to go back so far in time, the current timeline doesn't exist.

i am convinced there is some way to open up the Pyramid making sounds. there HAS to be something in there! why else would it make a sound that basically screams "Hidden Dungeon Here!" ?? actually, the sound reminds me of the sounds in Apochrypha in Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC.

ponders how much that plush costs to make...how much of the cost goes to Oxhorn and how much goes elsewhere. To be honest Id be more likely to order if I knew. Total cost to me with shipping and tax is just under $40.00 and it askes for a donation on top. I love OX but donate to his patron already. Happy holidays everyone

How on earth are all those landmarks magically there? If the surface is the same one before Earth become a desert than there should be more abandoned buildings stretching thousands of kilometres just like in real life, I get that it would be framerate issue but Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 was able to do it quite literally because it is on Earth, but also it is a scaled down version of their real world states, so to some degree they could of done a better job at making the Earth landscape look like it was once prosperous and largely inhabited by humanity

Exactly, there was nothing to have destroyed every single city on the planet. The atmosphere and magnetosphere are gone removing any possible source of corrosion, erosion and weathering. So what the hell destroyed the cities

I suppose if there's a multiverse in the universe of Starfield, there should be at least one universe where Earth wasn't destroyed.

the question i walk away with is: why are all those snow globes still there on earth? we don't have any secret old world weapons or military prototypes, no trinkets we can loot or anything else, just these damn snow globes, which are actually pretty fragile and they are all just plopped on the ground; by that point there probably shouldn't be any paint or details left on these snow globes due to constant radiation and sunlight my point is, there's so much that could be done with the planet underground bunkers made either by governments or doomsday preppers, secret laboratories or military installations etc. if the underground part of nasa survived the disaster, then so could every other structure deep enough

Something I've wondered about the evacuation of Earth is why the f didn't anyone think of bringing at least some earth animals with them to the stars like I get not bringing big animals like elephants but seriously? Not even cats or dogs?
