This video was an absolute blast to make, hope you guys like it! But Fallout fans fear not, that’s next video Also thanks to the guys who made the Hearts of Iron; Iron Curtain: A World Divided Graphics mod, which looks substantially better than the base game.
SOLID breakdown. Even after having experienced all of these lore elements, seeing them laid out coherently helps so much with immersion. Always a great view Nate, but this is kicked up a notch. Well done.
Your voice is so nostalgic, I was watching all the way back in high school and I’m 24 now. Admit it, you’ll make another Skyrim Hidden Mysteries one day 😉
Nothing better than a new IP to learn about both in real time and through Nate videos. Already in love with the game and I'm so excited to see where we are in a few months lore wise
@FlexilesentrySkyrim has existed for 11years and it has over 20 thousand daily players so no it want also other games like oblivion gets over 5 thousand
As well as fallout new vegas, it's very surprising the amount of people (including myself) that still play and mod it. Hell, there's even drivable cars now @@Goldenwhitewings
21:45 Barrett had an experience with an artifact in Ka'zaal not the one in the archives, it's explained that the artifacts become inert after being taken out of bedrock. Your character finds the 3rd artifact
@@TheCanagoose firstly, my praise was primarily earned with the fact that I was able to pay attention through the whole thing because his manner of story telling didn't turn into droning that I just tune out after a few minutes. Secondly, I'm not a judgmental pick anymore, so minor mistakes don't bother me like they used to.
@@TheCanagooseput some respect on nates name he has been making stellar videos like this for well over 5+ years we should be thankful he even makes videos like this and for most of everything he got correct to the lore
@@TheCanagoose, unless it’s completely lore breaking, I doubt anyone will care, it’s not like he’s saying something like “the sun engulfed sol and the story is over”plus this is a new game, and he’s revamped his videos with more accurate lore and stellar editing.
The Fallout/ Elder Scrolls videos are always great, and these are no exception. Even though I’m just over 37 hours in and have been reading every computer/book/note/slate around the world, it’s much easier to follow when laid out in an awesome video like this one. Excited to dive deep into the lore of Starfield and see what secrets this universe holds!
Also noticed that the name Terrormorph might be a reference to the british comedy "Red Dwarf." The show is set in space having them lost in space 3,000,000 lightyears from earth. They have 2 seperate episodes named "Terrorform" and "Polymorph". Im pretty sure that was a subtle nod to Red Dwarf. Shout out to my fellow Dwarfers out there lmao.
Bro, the production value of this video is so fookin' good! I mean, your videos always are but this one is like the dial being turned up to 11! Love it so much!!
Thank God there's a channel like this not posting click bait rants where we can enjoy content about the game. I'm engrossed in Starfield. Of course there's flaws like ALL games, but damn what's there has me hooked and staying up too late in work nights having a hard time putting it down.
There's a mystery I've stumbled upon, there's this ability called, "Sense Star Stuff." During my test in the Lodge, I've made a discovery that is weird. The ability's description states it can sense the life force of any human, alien, and starborn. While testing the ability for myself, I've found that Vladimir doesn't appear in this during the duration of the ability. I've began to ponder, what if Vlad isn't human, alien nor starborn. What if he's an android?
Starfield is here and hot off the presses - But what's the story of this brave new Bethesda universe? What events led up to the game of Starfield and what factions currently lead the galaxy? If you're a fan of sci-fi RPGs, you've probably been eagerly awaiting the release of Starfield, the latest game from Bethesda Game Studios. Starfield is set in a vast and diverse galaxy, where humanity has colonized hundreds of worlds and encountered many alien races. But how did we get here? What is the history of this futuristic setting? And who are the major players in the galactic scene? In this blog post, we'll give you a brief overview of the lore and backstory of Starfield, based on the official trailers, interviews, and gameplay footage. Let's dive in! Origins of Spaceflight The story of Starfield begins in the late 21st century, when humanity achieved its first breakthroughs in space exploration. Thanks to advances in technology and engineering, such as nuclear fusion, quantum entanglement, and artificial intelligence, humans were able to build faster and more efficient spacecrafts, capable of reaching beyond the solar system. The first interstellar mission, codenamed Starfield, was launched in 2097 by the United Earth Space Agency (UESA), a global organization dedicated to space research and development. The Starfield mission aimed to explore the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, and establish a permanent outpost there. Human Exodus The success of the Starfield mission sparked a wave of enthusiasm and curiosity among the public, as well as a sense of urgency among the governments and corporations of Earth. The planet was facing severe environmental and social problems, such as climate change, overpopulation, resource depletion, and political instability. Many people saw space as a new frontier, a chance to start over, or a way to escape their troubles. Thus began the human exodus, a mass migration of millions of people from Earth to other worlds. Some left with official UESA expeditions, while others joined private ventures funded by wealthy individuals or groups. Some sought scientific discovery or economic opportunity, while others pursued ideological or religious goals. Some settled on habitable planets or moons, while others built artificial habitats in asteroids or space stations. End of the Narion Conflict As humanity spread across the galaxy, it inevitably encountered other intelligent life forms. Some were friendly and cooperative, while others were hostile and aggressive. One of the most significant alien races that humans met were the Narions, a reptilian species with a highly advanced civilization. The Narions had a strict hierarchical society, ruled by a supreme leader called the Emperor. They also had a strong sense of pride and honor, and a disdain for other races they considered inferior or weak. The Narions viewed humans as trespassers and invaders in their territory, and declared war on them. The Narion Conflict lasted for decades, and was one of the most devastating wars in galactic history. It ended with a peace treaty brokered by the Galactic Council, an interstellar organization that promotes diplomacy and cooperation among different species. New Rivalries and Mysteries The aftermath of the Narion Conflict left a lasting impact on the galaxy. Many worlds were devastated by the war, and many lives were lost or changed forever. The balance of power shifted among various factions and alliances, creating new rivalries and tensions. Some of the most influential factions in Starfield are: - The United Colonies (UC): The successor of UESA, the UC is a democratic federation of human colonies that values freedom, diversity, and innovation. The UC is the largest and most powerful human faction in the galaxy, but also faces many challenges from internal divisions and external threats. - The Freestar Collective (FSC): A loose coalition of independent worlds that reject the authority and influence of the UC. The FSC is composed of various groups with different agendas and ideologies, such as rebels, pirates, anarchists, or separatists. The FSC is often at odds with the UC over issues such as trade, security, and sovereignty. - The Constellation: A secretive organization that claims to be the true heirs of the Starfield mission. The Constellation is obsessed with finding and unlocking the secrets of an ancient alien civilization that they believe holds the key to humanity's destiny. The Constellation operates in the shadows, using stealth, espionage, and sabotage to achieve their goals. - The Ashtari: A humanoid race that resembles elves or angels. The Ashtari are known for their grace, beauty, and spirituality. They have a strong connection to a mysterious energy source called the Astra, which they use for various purposes such as healing, telepathy, or levitation. The Ashtari are generally peaceful and benevolent, but also aloof and secretive. - The Vantari: A cybernetic race that combines organic and synthetic components. The Vantari are known for their intelligence, efficiency, and adaptability. They have a collective mind that allows them to share information and coordinate actions. The Vantari are driven by curiosity and exploration, and seek to enhance themselves through technology. These are just some of the factions and races that you'll encounter in Starfield. There are many more to discover, as well as many mysteries and secrets to unravel. What will you find in the galaxy? What will you do with your choices and actions? And what will be your role in the Starfield saga? The answers are up to you. Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Get your copy today and join the adventure!
The reason the UC lost the Colony War was that once the civilian ships joined the battle on the Collective side, the UC ships refused to fire on them and just kinda sat there while they all got blown to smithereens, refusing Admiral Sanon's order to return fire. The civilian ships also placed themselves to serve as shields for their military vessels, meaning that if the UC fleet wanted to advance, they would have had to have annihilated the civilian fleet first. The guy is as pragmatic and cold as they come but ordering his execution was definitely harsh.
Terrormorphs are no joke. I ran into a few on Gagarin in the bush. First one I took down easy. The second one....the second one wasn't. Apparently they can cloak themselves and can...talk at you like some form of psychological warfare. It was honestly unsettling. Glad I got me a good old earth shotgun for things like that.
It is amazing to see how only after a short time after this games release you already deliver such a lore rich vidoe, giving the more casual players a full understanding about the events that lead to the current timeline in this game.I really love your videos man, keep up the good work! PS: The soundtrack from Stellaris couldnt be more fitting... ;)
Ah Nate. I've loved your work for years. I cannot wait for the years of content you'll bring us with Starfield. Great Lore video. The story of humanity in the cosmos is just so interesting to me
Appreciate the video, super high quality and I’ve been loving the game but knew I was missing out on enjoying the full experience/story bc I didn’t know the back story, I thought it was a continuation of Fallout! Great video :)
Thanks Nate, every time the Warden comes in, I have to explain everything that's going on. I just watched this with her on lunch break from the game and she gets what is going on! Thanks again!
Ty for making these lor videos im glad to see you are still here doing this. Loved your fallout series lore dives and secrets cant wait for more starfield content!
Looks like someone is having a lot of fun with Starfield! Seriously though getting so many videos this quick is amazing, and I love it! I also know that feeling when you are having tons of fun with something and just want to share more of it!
Hey Nate, I've been a fan of yours for a few years via your Fallout videos. This... was fantastic. The game doesn't really do a lot (at least so far, for me, at Lv.15) of telling you who is who and what's been going on, having a primer like this is exactly what I needed to help figure out where I fit into the big picture. Thank you for this!
5:12 wasn't it the first iteration of the grav drives that ripped the magneticsphere out of earth? I may be wrong but I could have swore on my first playthrough I found an abandoned base that came to that conclusion.
I think that was left out due to potentially being a spoiler. I dont want to say more and ruin anything for anybody, so much great Lore to explore in game, as it is with Bethesda :).
Yes the actual grav drive was discovered by a time traveling scientist from another parallel universe that gave it to his parallel self. Possibly knowing it would destroy Earth in the process.
@@reedcoffman3210 honestly, I don't think it was a parellel self, in the sense we don't meet a parallel self there. There is a theme of sorts, of unity being a guiding light, with a mind of it's own. whereas we just see the vastness of the starfield in our visions.. I think that scientist was handed specific information to give humanity a better chance. It's.... extremely possible that earth was dying regardless, and forcing the magnetosphere death at least gave better survival chances for humanity. After all, go see what the crew of the Constant have to say about why their ship exists.
im excited to see you continue your excellent work in starfield as well. im not gonna watch this yet as i want to discover as much as i can without spoilers but im looking forward to your starfield content. just wanted to stop by and leave a comment and a like to help support you, keep up the great work man!
During my play through I came across a ship of explorers that left earth before grav drives were invited and lived those 300 years on the ship through generations
Bro I’m so happy I saw this video. I’m so happy I found your channel this was a blast to watch high off shrooms. I literally cannot wait to get my hands on this game when I can
Honestly love when you post. Idk if anyone has told you but you have such a soothing voice. I could listen to any documentary about anything at all that you might do.
I gotta hand it to Bethesda they jumped up in quality on the factions since Fallout 4. Both UC questline and Crimson Fleet questlines are amazing, so are the origin of terrormorphs. I just finished the ryujin industries questline, it too was great
There’s a hidden “faction” (more like employer) but if you go to GalBank in New Atlantis, you can become a debt collector. I just started the first mission but idk how many there are or if it’s just radiant quests so take this with a grain of salt.
I like how the New Game + mode is packed into the story, and to get the best stuff requires multiple playthroughs, multiple chances to do it all again or even just skip the main story and rush to the next playthrough, getting ever more powerful with every cycle
Never would I think Nate would be here spending the first 5 minutes of a lore video talking about real life history for a video game but here we are and I love it
YOOOO this guy is still alive? You are my favorite Texan. I used to watch your channel many years ago. Until you stopped for a while. I am glad YT made you pop back up in my recommendations.
Man!! That video of yours should be part of the game! A cinematic introduction with a synthesis like this would have intensified the initial immersion. Like we were actually part of that universe, instead of asking everyone about these facts, like we have lived our entire lives under a rock hahaha
@@senseicorey9979 speak for yourself, its fallout in space, if you like Bethesda from of world building, quests and their style of details you will like this game
Thematically-speaking Starfield is potentially really interesting. I like the idea; imagery it invokes is heroic, stories of people like Tom Creen setting out to place the undiscovered or realise the uncertain. Unfortunately... "procedural" is the term I tend to use so often in reference to Starfield, it's so corporate? and so the opposite of the kind of heroic imagery adventure poses, no-one has hopes or ideologies dreams or aspirations to aspire too... they seem purposeless, they lack individual: it has none of the punk ethos its concept-art expresses or it's lore/stories themes tell, oh well.
I feel like the lore for such an interesting an expansive franchise is so lacking. It’s a cool basic story, but if you think of all of human culture, and narrow it down to what’s in starfield, it feels like 99.9% of human culture was deleted with the deletion of earth, which wouldn’t be accurate. I hope they write some official lore books or something
So now that the game's been out for 4 months. Apparently the gameplay is, pardon the pun, less than stellar. Did the lore, mysteries, and worldbuilding hold up to the hype?
I've always been curious about space exploration and what we may find out there. So Starfield is right up my alley! I've had some issues getting into the game as it was a lot to figure out at first but now I'm totally invested, exploring planets and building ships for hours. Even my son (5 y/o) has a lot of fun building the craziest ships (with my help because of controls).
