Ikr.. I'm an Oklahoma fan but I always played with Virginia Tech just because of Marcus Vick. Oklahoma was my #1 but Virginia Tech was my #2 on NCAA football 04
Anyone who watched football ever should know he had a brother. It would be like not knowing theres a 3rd manning brother. Or not knowing ray lewis lost his white suit
Right like he always exposing himself that he's just a casual fan, he has a good work ethic and consistently puts out videos with above average quality so I get why people watch his videos, even I do every now and then but very rarely because he clearly doesn't know shit about football he's as casual a fan as they come he just does this to pay his bills so of course he spends alot of time doing homework on his videos he makes. Who wouldn't though, let me see.. work 40+ hours a week breaking your back for barely any money.. or making youtube videos from your house that pay you very well based on the views of little kids who don't know any better. . Dude doesn't know shit about football you can tell by what he says in his videos that either he just started watching football or he just has been a casual fan his whole life and watched the game here and there but now he does his homework on websites reading articles, watching other youtubers speak on the game, etc.
Ahmad Brooks should be your next video. - one of the biggest athletic freaks ever - USA Today high school 2001 DPOY - did not get into college and had to go to prep school -went to uva and became a starter and had one of the best plays ever -top defensive player in college football - got kick out of college and had to go into supplement draft - drafted by bengels and did nothing - traded to the 49ers and became an all pro and super player

@@WhiteBeltG I had to stop and think for a minute, damn I must be getting old. How have you never heard of Marcus Vick . S*** threw me off so much I lost focus for a few minutes and had to catch back up to the video 😩😩😩😂😂😂😂
Shhhhhh He stole so much out of Atlanta Airport the police had his phone number and called him to bring stuff back... This I watched them do. Literally
Marcus had a lot of talent, but was plagued with immaturity. All he had to do was keep his nose clean and show up to class and play and he would have been a first round pick; likely in the top 10.

I do remember Marcus. I also was stationed at Norfolk in the service and drove through the bad part of Hampton one time and it was boarded up windows and crack houses. It was around 8 am or I may not be here. How Michael Vick and Allen Iverson got out of there is a miracle. You can take someone out of the hood but it's hard to get the hood out of them.
You drive me nuts sometimes with your commentary, but it's all worth it in the end. Great work. Every. Single. Time. You're a budding legend my friend.
I’m about to turn 28 and I didn’t know about him. I wasn’t really following College Football much until around 2006 though which is a year after his career ended.
Marcus Vick the football player could've been better than Mike. Excellent arm talent, great speed, agility snd toughness. Just couldn't stop f'n up. Entitlement was real.
No he NEVER could have been better than his brother. He never showed that capability. He had potential. Some great coach said something like potential means you haven’t done anything yet. Little Vick had lots of potential. It did NOTHING for him.
@@josebrown5961he easily could’ve been better than his brother wtf are you talking about. Marcus had way better accuracy as a passer and the same arm talent. All Vick was for the longest time was a glorified running back. His accuracy didnt even get good till after prison which i always wondered why. But Marcus had the better all around talent. He was just as good at scrambling to. Probably just a step slower but not by much. Marcus could’ve easily been better than mike just because of how much better accuracy he had

It pretty simple, the recruiting coordinator said it... when he recruited Michael they lived in a very modest household but when he recruited Marcus they were living it up.... Marcus was spoiled and knew no matter how bad he screwed up he had Michael's money to fall back on..

A lot of ppl knew Michael Vick had brother. Especially if you’re in your 30s and watched college football back in the day. Not to mention that viral video of Marcus Vick running from the cops 😂
It’s incredible how this story plays out the same hundreds of times for talented athletes every year. Low impulse control, high time preference, bad decision making.
@@nicklazzaro5055 if it were an age thing, we would expect to see behavioral changes as they age. You need look no further than his brother to see how he matured past his teens.
Growing up in Virginia, it's crazy to think people didn't know about Marcus Vick. We were ready for the Hokies to win a natty and we got a mess. great video

Another great job covering an athlete that I was curious as to whatever happened to them 👍🏻💯 I'd like to suggest a couple of players for you to, potentially, cover in your upcoming videos 👀 1st player: Ramonce Taylor; RB for the University of Texas in the mid 2000's 2nd player: Cierre Wood; RB for Notre Dame in the late 2000's/early 2010's Keep up the good work! I look forward to your next video 👏🏻 Hook Em! 🤘🏻
Do Ahmad Brooks next.. I went to C.D. Hylton High School and dude was a complete stud, all the way to the point of getting picked in the supplemental draft after getting kicked out of UVa ..

This was told admirably & humorously & in some exasperated moments, I had to laugh myself, just because I used to LIKE football, (& baseball & basketball) growing up in Vick’s old team’s hometown. Sportsmanship apparently means less than dirt in ‘24. But it’s NICE to hear a brief bio as narrated by someone who, somehow, still respects the game! What I cannot possibly laugh about, though, is the absolute obvious social imprisonment of anybody surnamed “Vick.” WHO, specifically, besides their stepdad, ever mentored these young men?? Has either of them ever been examined for CTE or for any other concussion-related conditions? NEITHER of them seems to have EVER MET an individual NOT using them both as cash cows, as wagons to hitch themselves onto & as “properties” to exploit, to rip-off, to abuse, in some manner or the other. I understand a little something about Sports as some hometown’s “industry,” as Entertainment, & as an actual vocation for (mostly, STILL) poor individuals with very little academic acumen-from which major franchises to THIS DAY, are still recruiting, scouting, & reeling-in “the talent” 100 years after Cy Young, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, & Satchel Paige got their starts. As comically-told as this story is, and as idiotically as both Vick men may conduct their lives & their business-dealings, when compared against Others of superior caste, who (almost) always have their lives “turned around” FOR them by some benevolent-minded “angelic savior” stepping-in to refuse to let THEM go down like that, where’s the Vicks’ saving superwoman or superman?? And WHAT on Earth are they waiting for?!? I’m not talking about individual “accountability & responsibility.” That’s just down to individuals & is NEVER a completed depiction of events over an arc of decades. There is NOTHING they’ve done to have “deserved” NO seriously conscientious intervention-not enabling & abetting dysfunction. Yet all they’ve ever experienced, according to their own accounts as read by me-not as has apparently occurred to EITHER of them-are sharks, circling all around them, in every quarter of their personal contact, with their hands/flipper-fins STUCK OUT for money!! Absurd! Almost impossible, in The NFL of today, with all of its majestical magnitude ruling over so many people’s lives & wallets. Never “just works-out this way” for managers, executives, owners. They’re NEVER without “respectability” & access to vetted, vaunted, highly-recommended support, help, advancements. YET, knowing the impoverishment from which they’ve culled their “ownerships,” KNOWING these men & in some cases, women in off-field roles, have specific disadvantages going-in, they have put NOTHING substantial in-place to prevent harmful and malicious-minded trolling swindlers from slipping in their talons & draining them DRY. It wouldn’t have cost them a DIME to have had mentorship (NOT just some coaches) already intact & ready to roll-out as soon as these young people sign some contract. Or within the colleges’ structured academics programs to PREVENT the insanity, the conning, the hustling & grifting they KNOW these kids are up against!! Paying a 17-yr-old $3M for marijuana & some WHAT “anytime she wanted it!!” This leads me to conclude what every “recruit” ought to be seriously truthfully-educated to suspect & to surmise: the grifters kick-back something TO the franchise owners OR they’re all in on the SCAM together, in silent partnership, in cahoots, in collusion. These local hoodlums & scammers, grifters & bloodsuckers aren’t “unknown” & “without record” within law enforcement. WHY aren’t any of these hangers-on & leeches who wind their ways into players’ pockets checked-out BY the teams, especially teams that are more like an army platoon?? BECAUSE these “communities” fundamentally resent the very idea of paying “those people” anything. It’s not that they want what they (THINK the athletes) “have,” it’s just that they don’t want THEM to have it. Obviously, in the Vick brothers’ case, it’s a very logical & reasonable conclusion. It SHOULD be codified into every player’s playbook & so should the Vicks’ results be-as object lessons on what should NEVER be done & who should NEVER be contacted by ANY Nonwhite & underprivileged athlete or entertainer-no matter “how entertaining” they are being misled to believe it is. Really, the only dynamic that ever existed between them & the NFL & VirginiaTech, the only arrangements made possible BY the NFL & VaTech, & in ALL systemic relationships, ultimately, were & are STILL all tacky, trashy, terroristic, & tragic in ‘24-by systemic design. ⚖️🌱🍀🌸🍀🌸🍀
Matt, love your takes.. I'll try Again. Would love hearing you do a video on the late great Derrick Thomas R.I.P. Never saw anyone faster off the line. Everyone says LT but me? No, no.. I'd take Derrick Thomas.
To the people out there Marcus could have been just as known as mick crazy part is he had better arm talent to he didn’t have the zip like Vick but he could make all the throws with better accuracy and placement while being slightly less dynamic on the ground than Mike , Marcus could have developed into a faster prime Russell Wilson 🤷🏽♂️ sad story man
I used to love playin with Virginia Tech on NCAA football 2004. Just because of Marcus Vick. Oklahoma Sooners was my #1 team to play with on dynasty mode. But if I'm tryin to beat my friends.... It was Virginia Tech. Marcus Vick just couldn't get out of his own way. I'm sure he was given every opportunity at Virginia Tech because of his last name and he did have talent. Not to mention he wasn't some struggling broke guy in college... From what I understand his brother took pretty good care of him financially. All he had to do was focus on school and football and stay out of trouble. I will always think about the talent that he could have been. Dude just couldn't stop stepping on his own pecker
You’re VERY young Matt, before your time buddy. But you’re correct, there’s people who don’t know. this was an excellent introduction and well made, you put the story together in a very informative, chronological way, but your passion comes through and you make the story entertaining. Nicely done young man.
Whoever looking at my text you didn't say anything about him calling Marcus stupid so don't say anything to me about what I wrote I don't care if you take me off this page ill just get another phone put in another name so y'all can't stop nothing
I remember when Marcus got kicked out of Virginia Tech the first time, and Michael paid the company I was working for to come and move the stuff out of Marcus’s room into a storage unit, and the only thing this dude had to his name was a California king size bed and a big screen TV… oh, and also the Escalade that was all shot up that his brother bought him, but we didn’t move that 😂

Marcus vick single handed beat Miami with one of the best Miami hurricanes team unfortunately he got drafted to the Miami dolphins bad place for a guy who came from a struggling life but i pray he can get life together and mentor young men with a similar past

Gotta agree with you. Calling him a loser? After what he at least accomplished in college and at least making it to the NFL playing a difficult position. As if he doesn't have a huge family anf friend base who embraces him
Marcus was a beast, played with him from the boys n girls club up to Warwick high. Bad decisions at the wrong time, that all. He still doing good for himself.
Man this story hurts my heart. As a kid in Newport News and just moved to Detroit seeing Marcus going off was dope. Until... it wasn't. But to be fair they come from a fucked up background. His dad was a loose cannon too. He ran in similar circles as my mother, hence why I had to move to Detroit. I still remember that cover photo.
In the early 2000’s…we called it stupid. Now we tag it as “mental illness”… The NFL would’ve made him a bigger version of who he is. He also felt untouchable off of his brothers money. He lost the hunger to work for his own!
