Build the datsun man it'd be fun with a LS for sure but you would want to spot weld the frame or reinforce it someway the older japanese cars like that are made of cheap metal and it would probably twist or even crack/break.

Youre gonna need to spot weld the datsun cuz the chassis wont be able to handle the power. The frame will twist or even crack. Japanese metal was really crappy back in the day. Cali blue plates were used in 70s-80s not sure if it was used in the 60s tho. Black plates are currently an option and i think also used in the 40s-50s but dont quote me on that one
Yeah I was worried about frame twist but was thinking maybe a full roll cage would help with that. I know someone who used to build them for dirt track cars that could help me out.
You should look into a 1UZ swap for the Datsun. It's Japanese, but also a V8, and it sounds insane. It's made by Lexus/Toyota. I'm sure you can get one relatively cheap as well. Just an idea.

Bobby, super happy to see you back! Anyhow here's my 2 cents, if you do the LS stuff with the Datsun that my #1, but if you turbo the stock engine or doing bodywork on it instead that would make my #1 the Challenger supercharger, hope this helps.

I vote for the Datsun. For one thing, once the datsun is done you can save up for the challenger then while the challenger is being worked on you can drive the datsun.
I think the most fun would be camming and supercharging the challenger but I think the datsun you should do first and then put some money to the side until you get enough money to get a supercharger/camshaft.
Start getting your engine ready for the supercharger? That would be like saving up, but still providing content while also working towards ultimately getting the actual supercharger.

Slap a cam that's designed for boost applications , then work on the Datsun then later on go down the blower path, that way you get the best of both worlds cammed + boost , cammed doesn't mean no boost lol.
IMO.....A Challenger R/T is not worth it...All the $$ he has already put into it with "Hellcat" replica hood & rims...and another $6-7K , you could be 392 range for that amount of money.

Even a very simple 2J that’s stock would work, better fit and longevity wise you can boost those easy. Balance cosmetics of the ricer truck and get that Datsun rolling, great content for spring. Still reasonable price wise and it’s doing two cars at a time for diverse videos. Keep up the great work Bob 💪

Challenger seems to be the most solid choice. Unless you plan on committing 100% to the Datsun and not just throw cheap eBay turbos on it. Seems like that’d just be a waste of time and money.

Bobby, just sell the Datsun, doing that swap is way over your skill set, and you would be relying on other people to help/do it for you, take the sale price from the Datsun, put headers/exhaust on the Daytona, save towards the Challenger build, that would be your best investment. I've offered to buy the datsun several times
Put a cd009 or cd09 behind their much better because only 6 gear is overdrive in the cd transmissions, the t56 is double overdrives so gears 5 and 6. Also cd transmissions are much cheaper

I think the datsun would be best cuz it will be more fun, sense you woulnt have daily drive nor ur wife, so u will be able to work on it on your free time also sense its cheaper it will be easier for u to upload videos more frequently
