I’m glad someone brought this up because I didn’t know about it until recently when someone mentioned it in a video. It always confused me as a kid, because the Master Emerald altar was clearly designed to resemble ancient South American architecture, and this location looks vaguely like it could be an altar, but it is clearly emulating ancient Egyptian architecture. But now that I know that this location was never meant to be a permanent home for the emerald, and I’ve finally had the pleasure of playing Sonic 3 and Knuckles thanks to Origins, I believe that this cutscene location, as well as Knuckles and Rouge’s first levels in the game, are meant to take place in Sandopolis. Not certain if that means Eggman’s base is also located in Sandopolis, though.

That makes sense, AND would be wild that Eggman is still working off of Angel Island. He must really like it there!

@@BenkelmonkeyGaming Yeah, it’s equal parts fun and annoying to try to piece together Sonic lore. I’m currently trying to see if there’s any logical explanation for Characters that flip flop between being from a different time period and being from another dimension. I think there is some way that everything connects.

Ya know, I don't have too many notes for Sonic Adventure 2 like I did for Sonic Adventure 1, I really like it honestly! I'll be thinking about what Sonic Adventure 3 could have looked like though.

@@BenkelmonkeyGaming ok well i think sonic adventure 3 needs gameplay style of sonic adventure 1 and give each character their own story and have a 2 player vs mode and no fishing stages so if Big gets added he should have action platformer stages where he plays similar to how he did in sonic heroes

@@Breakaway-ic5gj No, the few good levels are clunky, has Omochao everywhere, treasure hunting and mech levels are a thing. Don't waste your money on this, buy Heroes or Shadow.
