Just started to get in the car scene and I’m getting my first car soon, I’ve been saving up and I’m very excited to see what I can do with it! Like the vid!
im 9 months late loll, but Hope everything been Great! hope Your first car is somewhat everything you wanted for a first car (ik us human beings love to desire what we dont have yet) but remember take car of your car, it will take car of you!
While I agree with most of what is talked on the video, I still think they are some very shitty persons behind the "ricer" tag. Though it's pretty stupid to scream to another guy "RICERRR" in the streets, that's just worst than being a ricer. I don't own a car but I understand some of the hate about shitty tastes decals, mounts, shit, etc, but that isn't yours so why whine about it.
Well said, young man. It’s all about respecting another person’s work, tastes and effort for his or her car. Whether or not it appeals to us doesn’t matter. Being a little older, I could tell you story after story of other people telling me “what’s wrong” with my car, whether that was my 1967 Impala SS or my current 2015 Honda CrossTour. Keep up the good work.
JDM is about maintaining your car the closest to the original sold in Japan, simple as that. It has nothing to do with Ricer cars. Btw that skyline is really awsome with those JDM bodykit and tail ;) are the rims also JDM? :)
nah jdm literally just means a car that was sold for the Japanese domestic market. There are jdm German cars. It’s not a guideline to how you build, I think you missed the point of the video.
Cars are art it’s yours you can do anything you want to it express what you like I personally have a 2003 350z and I got a wing also you do anything you wanna do to your car respect everything it’s art and you can do anything you want if you like it do it it’s your car 🚗
Love this video! Shared it on the Facebook page for my car club. The UK could learn so much from the JDM scene! Myself & my 2 friends that run our club believe in the same principals as the JDM scene. There’s way to much hate here in the UK & it is killing the scene. Our club likes the different & normally shunned cars! In our eyes all cars are special & just like in Japan it’s all about personal taste. Most of the UK scene is, if you have this car then you must do this wheel, mod, kit or spoiler! Hate that! Or it’s people in clubs that hate everyone that isn’t in their club! This is so evident in the VAG world & it’s gotten so bad that I cannot go to VAG shows anymore! I have also seen on forums where someone has asked people for advise on picking a wheel for his Sierra RS500 Cosworth, he had 2 wheels he liked & then was a used by 100’s of comments telling him he must keep it original or only fit these certain wheels! I actually jumped on them saying wtf! It’s not your car, it’s not your taste he wants, he’s asked which is better, wheel A or B. If you don’t like either then say nothing! He doesn’t have to have anything he doesn’t want but his own personal taste! That’s what modding is about, making a car your own & not the same as all the rest! I have always loved Japanese cars, I’ve had a couple Nissan’s, Honda’s & that over the years & I love the culture even more! The rest of the world could learn a thing from Japan! Especially the shitty hateful scene in the UK! All mods, in whatever form, are good as long as it’s the owners personal taste! Sorry for the long ass post but had to say this!😂👍🏻😁
This is an interesting explanation of JDM.. Many people here in the states design their cars based on what they feel others will like. At that point, you may as well just have someone else draw up a design for you because it's not you own anyway. I'm working on my car right now. It's not the greatest, but I don't care because it's what I want. So I guess in a way, I live up to that culture by building and keeping to my own design. Well, once im done with the performance side of it, I will be moving on to the appearance aspect. lol. May take a little time for that though.. 😆
I had to look for the meaning of jdm, I thought it would be Japanese dream machine because they are so great looking compared to the United Kingdom!, your lucky and you deserve the success of the channel. Respect
I’m not even able to get a car yet but I think that jdm is very cool and the ppl seems hella chill n nice, your video was amaziiing I learned quite a lot!
JDM Culture - "Oh yeah, do your thing make it look good. Its a stock skyline I bought for 12k, so I added this xhaust can and these stickers. I like this wing to, so I put it on there." American Car Culture - "Yeah, its mostly primer and rust, but I put a this 30k dollar crate LS7 into my 88 Camaro. Had to cut and weld new motor mounts and move the transmission back so its no longer street legal in my state, but it does a 8 second quarter mile... nice wing f****t."
Got's da 🔰 15' Sylphy. Been in 🔰 culture for about 20 years, yup OLD school, I've seen most, wont say all because I don't live in Japan but though I've had a few Euro cars, I've stuck with Japanese. It's like Dom says: Família.
I personally like your wing but since its only function it "look at my wang" Id cary bar stools on the trunk to have drinks with people on it and have a good laugh over it.
b.t.w I'm on my wife's RU-vid lol I do like the video I just wanted to educate more to people what j.d.m means it's not color or anything like that it's just means things sold only in j.pan lol love the video not like love
I disagree with this. When you modify a car what you are doing in a sense is design. You are either making your own new parts by hand or buying things other people have designed to add on to your car. Now when someone studies any kind design weather it be automotive design, graphic design etc they learn about design. You don't just argue with the teacher going "yeah well it's what I want to do and I'm unique". A lot of people who are famous for customising cars are famous because of their understanding of design. A well done car where the colours and paint all work well together often will turn just asany if not more heads than a car with lots of money chucked at it. I guarantee that the people who designed your S15 had an understanding of design.
Yeah the states really needs to take note of that all the JDM as f people are the ones who hate on and bash on everybody else's car if it's not built to their specs yeah The stance is not my thing but I'm not going to go out of my way to talk smack about it
