I live in Queens, NYC. If I don't secure the bike with handlebar lock and a 10mm hardened steel chain with heavy high security padlock, my scootz will be gone by morning. If I don't secure the cover, it will be gone by morning. I've lost 2 already. I miss living in an area where people have respect for someone else's property.
Hi Alex I have watched all your videos that you have made and they are brilliant and have made me laugh can't wait to see your new sym show room. I'm 54 year old lol and when I see you on the sym adx 125 cc on your trips, it's made me think 🤔 to take my CBT in the next 2 months and get that bike 15 ltr fuel tank done that for me and I like the abs and traction control you sold that bike to me. Do sym make there own engines?? Did look at honda pcx but only has a small fuel tank. Can wait to see more of your videos keep up the brilliant work 👍
I used to ride in the snow in London, but if you ever need to pull off the clear strip of road to avoid something unexpected - which usually then involves braking, then you're screwed... the interlinking brakes then locks your front and it dips.
Not if you put bike studs on the tyres..alot of biker think it isn't legal in UK to have bike studs I can assure you tyre studs are legal in UK if temp is low enough for ice and snow...get yourself some tyre studs... I had to change tyres to winter and mud tyres to pop them on and I've a road bike..
I love your videos! I wonder why you chose this bike as your daily driver and I'd love to get your opinion on the symphony 125cc S.. it is way cheaper than st but is it good?
Hey Alex, thanks for your great content! On my Piaggio Beverly 400 I have the problem that the cables of the throttle are frozen for the first 5-10 minutes, so I can hardly accelerate. Some moisture must have gotten in there. What can I do? Replacement would be very expensive. Is it urgent, or can it wait (until next year)? THANK YOU!!!
To be honest I've never had that problem and don't know of any fix. What I would try is maybe go to workshop and blow some high pressure compressed air through the line, might just blow dry all the moisture. Don't know if it will work but it's worth a try 🤷
What would be your pick for the "softest" ride? I've got spine and pelvis issues and would need the suspension and seat to really absorb the road. I live where there are lots of bumps and potholes. Thank for any advice. Would something like the Honda Cub 125 be a better choice with the 17" rims?
I have a CT125 and a scooter. I've also had spinal fusion surgery a year ago and suffer from back issues. The Trail is better with potholes, as you said the 17" wheels do better for those. The seat on the Trail is okay for around town or short trips but for longer road trips you'll want to improve the seating somehow. I've added an air-pocket cover for mine but can't say it helped much. For me the bigger issue was lifing a leg over the seat. The scooter allows for me to just get on it without having to embarrass myself trying to hoist a leg over. Hope this helps with making a decision. Ride while you can, amigo, stay safe!
I am retired so don’t have anyplace to go on a regular basis. But my limit is 35F or above for me. Plus I have health problems so cold air not good for me. That said my SYM Fiddle 4 is ready to ride. I have 10W40 full synthetic oil in it. What oil do you run?
@@RideWithAlex Actually the owners manual says 10W30 full synthetic anode 0c/32f and 5W40 below those temperatures, after break in. But I had a quart of 10w40 motorcycle oil extra that I run in my 2006 Suzuki Burgman/Skywave 400 and just went with that oil.
@@RideWithAlexit will rust, but then again I'm coming from a manual bike. We all share the same risks two wheelers. I ride all year round too. I need to get a topbox.
