Have you ever tried any Micro Jigging? I really wanna work a 60gram jig all day on a light rod from the kayak. I see them catching lots of tuna in other places around the world on even 25gram jigs. Should work around your area right?

Thanks again for the video! I’m a kayaker that’s familiar with the gulf but no Atlantic experience. What’s the max conditions you would fish the Atlantic in a yak? Wind speed and direction - surf height- swell height, interval?

anything under 10mph and seas 2ft or under is the most enjoyable. You can push the limits a little bit depending on experience and how much you are whiling to get beat up out there.

Awesome video. Hopefully coming from Navarre to south fl to fish next year. Speed jig question: do you jig blind or are you marking fish and or structure and then dropping?

We blind jig the entire trip if conditions are right. But Ofcourse If we take a break and then mark a fish or structure it’s back on!

Did he mention the weight of the jig that he recommends on his charters?
@DeepbluekayakfishingLLC
@DeepbluekayakfishingLLC 5 лет назад
James Brumley 120gram-200gram. 150gram is the perfect size. 200 are tough but needed in a strong current

I got vertical jigs with treble hooks on the bottom. Should I remove these?
@DeepbluekayakfishingLLC

Christopher Wesnofske they work great in open water and if you want it to hit the bottom make sure it’s a sandy bottom.

Heading way south in 5 -6 weeks to fish with you guys and can’t wait! Curious what you do with the end of the wire that goes to your leader. Another loop with split ring or swivel or tie right to the loop?
@DeepbluekayakfishingLLC

No sir. We bend the wire and tie an Albright knot straight wire to leader. A lot of people do use swivels but for us, that’s just another piece of terminal tackle that could fail. I trust my knots way more.
