2:46 "Death would occur more quickly than our brains could register. We would all simply cease to be" That's not horrifying, that's comforting actually. Best way to go.
since the universe is expanding very quickly and this expansion is accelerating, the chances of a vacuum decay reaching us is shrinking every year because the volume of space it has to be in to reach us is shrinking (speed of light, you know). btw at the beginning there is a "surface tension" involved (like in water drops) that CAN reverse this "bubble" of true vacuum. So, it is absolutly possible that this happend all the time and everywhere (right next to you or in your guts) but the "tension" collapsing it every time. have a nice sleep ;)
This hair splinter is fascinating. My eyebrow hair isn't even thick but it somehow managed to penetrate thickest skin, which is on the heel. Also it penetrated my thumb once. Very weird. I have no clue how that happens.
Same with solar flares. Please stop fear mongering solar flares. We could detect them coming days in advance and then just turn everything off for a day
@@frosttheweavile461 It is concerning because we’re becoming a more sterile species. The birthrate is falling so far so quickly that later this century we’ll start running out of enough young people to maintain the infrastructure or lay the entitlements that the majority of the then elderly population will be dependent upon. And if we keep becoming more and more sterile then we won’t be able to replenish the species even if we wanted to.
0:48 that story is no longer true. I was affected by this myself and they lifted the restriction a few years ago. I was unable to give blood too. They found that after 30 years your risk of carrying the disease is negligible. But for awhile they kept saying ' oh 10' to 'oh 20' to 'oh 30' and finally they said 'okay you can give blood now damn.'
My doctor's have said if I need another hospitalization, that I would be sent to a state hospital and need electroconvulsive therapy. Instead of seeking treatment, I now make sure I never have to get hospitalized. I avoid treatment at all costs and don't even take the meds I need to ensure I don't get hospitalized. Catch 22, I guess.
I hope you never need another hospitalization. ❤️ I have bipolar 1 and OCD and my doctor talked through the possibility of ECT with me. It's not as scary as it sounds but from what I've heard the memory loss isn't worth it. I hope you're doing okay off meds.
Can't help but notice that some of these are repeated. I'm not even at the end and I've already heard the solar storm one and false vacuum one twice each.
1:02 Doesn't really sound terrifying, a lot of normal biological processes may seen scary or disgusting if taken at face value but given how harmless and beneficial they are there's no need to be concerned. It's actually quite wonderful how adaptable the mother's body is when it comes to taking care of her child.
I was once involved in a car crash, completely my fault and luckily nobody was hurt. But had I arrived at that junction just a second earlier or later; it wouldn't have happened. I'd have had a near miss and got beeped at angrily. Sometimes all the bad luck just aligns.
My doctor offered me ECT as an alternative if an increase in my mood stabilizers didn't work. My options for medication are limited though because I had a stroke so maybe it's not that common.
If a solar storm hits on that magnitude out of no where what would happen to the nuclear power stations. We’d all be in trouble if the cooling systems were out for long enough
The climate change bit is one of the funniest pieces of propoganda I’ve ever fucking heard 😂 there’s a scientific consensus that global warming is not even caused by humans
