You must question morals of others to break them into giving information that they may be hiding, basic journalist tactic, you see them getting cut off by someone everytime she doesm
Everyone is sinful in the eyes of GOD so none of us are good, not 1. However, jesus died to forgive us of our sins and made a way out of darkness to be able to come into his presence in the kingdom of heaven. It's our choice who we wanna be and what we truly believe in our hearts.
it merely points out the hypocrisy of America's self perceived moral superiority which is supposedly derived from its liberal values yet is all to happy to disregard such values if it benefits the USA.
Think this reporter should look at any American prison before she took this lovely tour of Guantanamo. For example any American prisoner in American prison will be force fed if they refuse to eat after a certain period.
x x no but before anyone complains about how a prisoner is treated you should at least have a basic understanding of how prisoners are treated elsewhere. This prison for example doesn’t differ to much from a vast majority of any American prison. While it is drastically better than some military prisons for American Military personal. So I’m just saying Guantanamo isn’t anything really special at end of the day for American standards. But I do believe the prison system as a whole should be changed on how it’s looked at and treatment of prisoners. But I must admit the guards should have proper and complete understanding of what their job is with the proper training. The only flaw I saw here was how the guards see the prisoners. They are being looked at as terrorist and not as a person locked up. So I would have liked a reporter that had the basic understanding of the prison system to have an interesting educational Vice reporting instead of a reporter asking all the wrong questions and just learning what a prison really is for the first time and seeing her amazement.
johnny123 , that's not true. There's lots of VICE DoCs that are not Liberal and reporting just on the facts. Agreed most the reporters are young. but plenty are not "Left-wing", or "Left-Leaning"... Also this DoC didn't address plenty of questions it should have (vice's fault probably-eventhow it was decent), & there were several lies told by some of the interviewees. All they need to do is say, no comment or "we came answer"...just like they did some a the time. Dont agree or SAY YOU WANT More news outlets to come check out your facility , then bulk shot everyone. Fucking stupid.
What happened here was and probably IS going on is utterly atrocious, but some of the comments from the reporter were just stupid. Of COURSE they aren’t going to indicate where high value inmates are being kept. She was non stop asking security compromising questions.

Killing Fields depends on what you say by legal. Using the local standards the Afghans or Iraqis would give these guys. This is very much legal and much better treatment than they would revive in prisons over there. By American standards then probably not, War laws and laws that apply to you and I are very different though. Look them up if you are curious.

Not being sexist here although every single person on the left will take it as such, but she’s just a typical, almost cliche female vice reporter. They’re literally all the same. It’s a shame because this had potential to be an awesome short documentary that was actually informational... But you nailed it on the head, very immature interviewer
@@deejayriney2031 I’m sure there are some good female journalists but they definitely don’t work at vice. As sexist as it is, I usually avoid any female vice journalists. Terrible journalism. You were allowed into GUANTANAMO BAY, allowed to film and ask questions and managed to ask all the wrong stuff. I feel like a lot of those questions were meant to get a rise out of the guards, "have you educated yourself on the religion?" "Where do you keep the high value detainees?" Geez. Try again, Vice.
she asked the right questions if u are going to any other country u should at least have some knowledge about them what to do and not to do and all the other stuff. So the guards should have some information prior to the camp
What questions you think she should have asked? And I am wondering what you meant when you say " If she has been educated on the religion? or you meant "about the religion"and what religion we are talking here? thanks
I personally felt like they should not have went at all. I don't think there were any "correct" questions to ask because it is such a top-secret site, a lot of the more interesting questions like where high-value detainees are kept and their crimes couldn't be disclosed. Although I did feel that, as a journalist, it was a great opportunity, maybe it was something they should have passed on.
And what part of the prison is with no Gard do to low staffing problem is the key room always with and officer even on Sunday’s? Are you sure ? And the step by step response for and escape inmates don’t worry I bleep the secret stuff out .
Less than 1% of the detainees have been charged, it means rest of the detainees were innocents, the action against terrorism is nothing but vengeance; justice should be delivered fairly.
It is worse then that, the actions against terror are terrorism themselves. Locking up random ppl serves only one purpose, being to scare others, in other words, to terrorise. I've said it before and i'll say it again, the us is the main purpetraitor of terror on this planet. It is the bully that punches ppl in the face over an over, and then claims victimhood when someone finaly slaps back. Land of the brave? More like land of the cowardly and easy to scare.
And then they are released. Theres 1000 people being wrongly detained for any number of petty crimes. I would say detaining someone for a period of time who has suspicion of being a terrorist or other dangerous force is beneficial. Think with your mind bud.

Those are National Security inquiries HVTs in this compound shouldn’t be disclosed. Yeah, I enjoy watching Vice but I was unimpressed with the way this report was undertaken. Very crass, as far as weighing in questions, lack of situational awareness for who and where and when to ask
most other detention centers and prisons run by the US government have no problem letting film crews and reporters in. then again, most other government detention centers don't hold people indefinitely without a trial using our tax dollars and doing it in our name. but yeah, let's criticize the reporter who's simply trying to document it instead. the shit americans get mad about is so weird.

She's not a journalist, she's just a super far left socialist millennial
So agree. If she has a problem with detainees being detained unconstitutionally she should interview someone else. Like a senator or congressman. The job of the guards is to keep the place secure.
@Anon nymous She said Enteral feeding. That is not rectal feeding. I don't agree with anyone being treated inhumanely - even if they are guilty of a crime. I also don't agree that anyone should be detained without due process. If there is no due process, they should be let go. But it is a prison. I'm just saying that if she really wants to do something about it, she should go where some real progress could be made. The guards are not where she will get anything done.

What some terrorists who had bring suffering and death to the lives of millions, and you think stepping on a couple hands and giving them a little scuff from some pissed off guards, Really? People shouldn't be even thinking about giving these guys any sympathy, remember these are the guys who kill thousands if they do not comply with their religion, or behead people for doing their job. Get a fucking grip and see who these people are.
Most of these detainees have never been trialed nor condemned for anything so what you are saying is pretty much a lie till prooven otherwise. Also, "terrorists who had bring suffering and death to the lives of millions", "these are the guys who kill thousands". You should send this quotes to Chuck Norris for another Delta Force movie.
TwoFistsOneHalleluja You know what the proof is? Special Forces go to villages they sit down with the local elders they ask who is who and what do they do who is taliban, Al-Qaeda ect. They go to the peoples house, If they comply for questioning in lets say Bagram, then its fine and they get questioned, and if they are found not guilty then they go back to the village, if they are found guilty for crimes, they go to Guantanamo or Prison
george phillips So basically if a village elder has a dispute with a neighbor over some sheeps he could simply call the US troops and tell them that his neighbor is a talib and the US troops would come by and arrest him... Do you see now why "the village elders told us so" is not a valid proof? A real investigation and a fair trial are needed, period.

Funny Americans accuse other countries of doing horrible things since they keep the things they do in the shade but when America does it "It's to protect the people working there" I don't care which side you take, just make sure to apply your standards to all countries and not be a hypocrite.

Masayuki Uokawa I agree with you it's a lot better compared to many other countries, but simply being "better" doesn't make it good. Simply excusing a country's actions because "at least it's not as bad as this other country" is the same logic Putin uses "America did worse things than us, so they have no right to judge what we do." i have the feeling they're trying not to show them the true guantanamo bay. they only show the happy sunny friendly side but not the dark and brutal side. also this reminds me of the vice documentary when they got into north korea- all colors, happiness and whatever but obviously acted out poorly trying to cover up the bad side. finally after editing this comment for the THIRD time it appears the united states government is no better than that of others such as nazi germany, soviet russia, or north korea. this video gives me another reason as to why im not a fan of the united states or its present, past, or future actions on the world.
Jesus christ VICE you sent a reporter that just about every question she stupidly asked broke OPSEC protocols. What in the hell do you think would happen? "so whos the HVTs?" Really? Come on now.
In any type of prison, these questions are normally asked. Go and watch the series "behind bars" you will find the reporter asking all sorts of questions. Stupid.
A real pity that the interviewer was unprepared and asked all of the wrong questions. I think the worst part about the whole video was the obvious bias and lack of impartial journalism.
The other reporter was just shitty at asking questions and when the other reporter asks a question which is always going over the boundary’s even in normal circumstances they would shut them down and I kind of understand why but the main reporter asked basic questions that were reasonable we’re mainly allowed which was nice.
I love vice, they are a great source for reliable journalism and I will continue to support them. BUT... ethics of gitmo aside.. some of the reporters questions and interactions would clearly violate operational security if they weren't stopped or redacted, and that can cause serious danger to the servicemembers working here. I understand people have a right to know what their government is doing. But sometimes it's just an issue of the safety of people working in and around the installation. There are extremely dangerous people here with dangerous connections in the world. And I think the journalist is plenty intelligent enough to realize that. Unfortunately some of these opsec-related interactions appear framed in a way that's misleading to the average viewer, which is distracting from what's otherwise an important discussion. And some of the questioning was extremely loaded. Again, there are problems here that should be addressed, but it would be more effective to get to the root of them rather than hope to catch someone saying something that sounds ignorant or intolerant in a soundbyte
Reporter: "Can you tell us where the high value detainees are?" **Gets kicked out for asking probably the most operationally sensitive questions you could ask** Reporter also: "We were trying to be careful but still trying to get the real story.. they're asking us to get out of here." 🤦♂️

How tf are people in the comments missing the fact that these people were not charged with anything, no trials, they were detained for nothing. What terrorism are you blabbing about? These were innocent people illegally detained.
How do you know that? None of us know the real stories and that guy from Bosnia could very well have been making himself out to be innocent. If we don't have real detailed non-speculatory information, then how can we make a rational judgement on whether which people are innocent or guilty and to what extent that guilt is?
Why does having understanding of islam matter? They are soldiers and just need to follow order from above. This lady has to be the worst vice reporter.
because it's important to understand your enemy? If you want to solve a problem it's important to understand what causes it. Fighting islamic terrorists without actually reading the book is kind of stupid. That's why the US failed in Afghanistan. Because it didn't bother to learn about their cultures.
Yeah because they are some of the most dangerous people in the world , and also a lot of powerful people that if they are left alone with an employees can corrupt them or treat them saying they are gonna kill their family and so on. The biggest lie he told was that he thinks they're held there justly and legally. Not sure how, seeing they're held there without trial and no evidence against them. Yea that's what I never understood. The bigger and more famous they got the shitter the journalists are it's like they just scrapped community college journalist students n just allow them to be "unique in their own way" instead of giving its audience 100% unbiased, true, real work, actual journalism with 100% authenticity behind every statement. It seems like the vice owners just said "just pursue your stories and be the best u can be" everyone is a winner I guess. It's a hit piece slanted to be critical of the guards and staff, who selflessly defend their nation while also protecting the enemies of USA. She is lying - acting shocked - because they would have told her she can't film certain things, and can't ask about operational procedures. She should know that most of the books and other items are most likely donated stuff. Harry Potter ? Really ?
