Tyler as you probably know, check your front wheel bearings regularly. For anyone that doesn't know how, get the wheel off the ground, 1 hand top of tyre, 1 hand bottom and use a push/pull technique to see if there's any bearing play. If so tighten bearings as Tyler's mechanic has shown.

A new option for 35s without excessive unsprung weight is a 255/85R17 (34.6" x 10.0"). Same diameter as a 315/75R16 or 315/70R17 and fit the factory GU 17 x 8 wheels.

Nice one Tyler.👍 Greasing bearings is definitely a messy job. Apart from what you already mentioned that you'll bring for parts and tools for any potential wheel hub bush repairs, I also highly recommend, getting the Gregory's or Haynes repair manual. That way you have a step by step reference on any repairs. Extremely handy when unfamiliar on what to remove or loosen etc.

Nothing new to me in the working on hubs and axles, because I've got a Navara lol ;) Changing cv's and halfshafts is a ticket to Navlife. But this is great learning experience stuff for a lot of your viewers and it's really great for them to be able to see and learn how this stuff works. Not everyone has been wheeling 4wd's for ages so there's always a new group who really doesn't know how all the stuff works under their car. Great of them to let you film and take the time to explain. There was nothing wrong with the rubber that was on it, but hey, if they're giving you a deal or you've got a use or a buyer for the old ones... Plus, yeah, content creator and sponsors and stuff. I'd be wearing that stuff down to 3mm. Stiff sidewalls are great for some reasons and utterly useless for others. Everything is a compromise which is why I don't run 10 ply LT stuff.

Most important feature of braided brake lines, is they stop the hoses from expanding when the booster is adding more pressure to the system, giving you more power at the caliper & more feel. Oh Tyler! You forgot the most important repair!! New Toyota badges to replace the Nissan ones!!!

Andy...the booster doesn't add more pressure to the hydraulic system : homework men
@MicahBell_1860
@MicahBell_1860 2 года назад
Really? When the pedal is pressed down, it activates the booster, to "boost" the pressure from 0 bars (atmospheric pressure). So it is "adding" pressure to the system. Hoses being rubber will expand from the increased pressure. Braided hoses have a steel braid sleeve around the hose to stop the hose expanding, letting all the pressure to be directed to the caliper. Satisfied?

Love the down to earth mechanic, I've just done my bearings and it's a messy job. If you get the chance to film the swivel hub being serviced that'd be great too. I broke some teeth off my free wheeling hub and it was due to the knob gradually turning from 'lock' to 'free' as driving. If the hub knob turns to easily (to much lube inside it) that may be the cause. I had to tape my hub in the lock position to finish track. Marty from Perth
