Something I love is that other influencers feel like they're trying to get us to buy everything on the planet where as it feels like Abbey is really always helping us to narrow it down to the best quality products that we really need or will actually really enjoy. Thank you Abbey!
I am prone to eczema on my hands, so I am so happy that brands have fragrance free options. Fragrance is one of the ingredients that will cause blistering and unbearable itching. I scent the room to enjoy the experience instead of my skin.
Same here. With hand dermatitis it’s also challenging to find shampoos & conditioners that don’t cause a skin reaction while also meeting my hair needs
@@AbbeyYungabbey can you make a video explaining why you like fragrance in your skincare products? I’m a bit surprised with the evidence out there that people often develop allergies/reactions to fragrance use overtime on the skin.
I agree 100% on the fragrance in body products. I don’t like fragrances facial products because I can be sensitive to them so I can see why others don’t like fragranced body products either. Would love if more brands came out with both fragranced and fragrance free versions of their products
LPR oil cleanser burner my eyes too and I found it a bit drying. I’m glad you mentioned your that as well! I was thinking I was a little crazy. When I needed to return a LRP product in the past they had AMAZING customer service and had someone from their product team call me to discuss the situation, my skin allergies, and the reaction I received from the product. Calling them with feedback may be something you want to consider. After that experience, I have so much more trust and respect for the company.
I like and appreciate that you do these types of videos. I feel like so many push to use the most expensive stuff, and while quality is usually equal to price they aren't exclusively linked. I also appreciate your videos because we seem to have similar skin tones and hair textures and like the same feel of products. I almost never use skin care products and as an agoraphobic struggle with what to even consider. Your videos at least give me a starting point and brands to consider so thank you.
The versed cleanser is something that I would love to try, the packaging is kinda cute too. Lovely video as always, Abbey. And like always, Elsie's wagging tail instantly makes me smile from ear to ear. I have a few haircare brands that I'd love your review on, virtue labs, kerastase conditioners and hair serums, fable and mane hair scalp mask and the whole range possibly, Aveda and loreal professional.
I've been on the fence about buying the L'Oréal Infallible blushes and your review confirmed my fears about the pigmentation. I have fair, very fair, skin and some blushes are just too much. Thank you.♥️
They're called barrier creams, hence why she went on to link a video of hers called "Barrier Creams". None of those products (Slug...) had ingredients used for slugging/found in barrier creams.
@@AbbeyYungThanks for trying this! I have looked at it several times and yeah it’s for “slugging” but haven’t heard really much about it until I heard your review. So…. guess it will be a past….Thanks for checking it out chicky!!!
The Tree Hut Sweet Cream body butter is one of the best smelling creams/lotions I've ever tried. The fragrance lasts a long time, too. My husband also loves it, which is a bonus. For the record, I'm more into clean, fresh scents, but this cream is just unbelievably delish smelling.
The Laroche Posay Oil cleanser I used to remove body Sunscreen in the shower only! I just put it on a shower pouf! And it really is good for getting off sunscreen! Otherwise I don't think I would have a use for it either 🤷♀️💗💗💗
Glad to hear about the infallible blushes. Every time I go in Rite Aid I look at that deep coral pink one, knew I was going to give in eventually….now I don’t have to. As for the matte liquid lip colors, you don’t have to use them as advertised. Sometimes I just take a little dab of lip products like that, and rub it into my lips for a touch of the color, it’s more like a stain, and usually very long lasting. The Elf lip oils, I wasn’t all that impressed. Still trying to understand what a “lip oil” is…because they all just feel like lip gloss to me.
You could put the naturium retinol on at night maybe the unscented wouldn’t bother you as much. Just a thought.💜 I love scented by day to layer w/ perfume but at night I personally go unscented.
I actually really like the La Roche Posay cleanser! I dont apply it directly to dry skin tho. Its also the only cleanser that gets my mascara (not waterproof) completely off without needing to go in with makeup remover to take off left over mascara residue.
I’ve been watching you for a good two years now and you have grown into your content… like you just seem so much more at ease in front of the camera and confident in a way that’s great to see, always love your reccs. Just a note: the L’Oréal blushes… some may not take this advice and I totally understand BUT if you’re not against using natural haired brushes I would suggest using those instead of a synthetic brush (like Abby used), while synthetic brushes apply blush well in general when it’s something as pigmented as those blushes a natural hair brush tends to work better. I’m an MUA not a rocket scientist but ya know… gotta throw in my two cents when I can 😂 (I also own two of the blushes and if you’re on the light/fair/translucent side they can be tricky).
I think with the rise in allegories (of all types), brands are choosing their ingredients wisely. Given the high incidence of fragrance related allergies alone, I see fewer skincare products with added fragrance, which is not good for those looking for the sensorial experience. If you’re into skincare and fragrance, I suggest reaching out to brands and voicing your opinion!!!
@@sharroon7574 Agreed. Also some of us have issues using fragranced products because a lot can trigger migraines. A pleasant smell (from synthetic fragrance or essential oils) to one person can mean headaches and dizziness to another person. It’s not easy to find excellent products that exclude fragrance for different hair needs. Those of us with sensitive noses want options too 😢
Abby you are a very unique influencer in all the ways we need! Firstly you try on every product for us not just describe a product, which is soooo time consuming for you, but so much more educational for us to make a decision. I have to applaud all your extra effort usually not found on other sites. Next you describe things so well that is so helpful. Please never cut out when you make mistakes that’s when you are the funniest and down to earth just like us being there with you gabbing with our gal pal, it’s not about perfection but being relatable which you are. Lastly since you were the one that helped me discover Saltair sandal bloom, the new body mist is just like the oil smells like sexy skin you must try it while in stock. I would also love for you to review some of their other scents especially the citrus orange one I am so curious as to your thoughts. Thanks so much for all you do as an unique influencer and the tale wag in the back is always the best lol so cute!!
Slugs and snails are not the same thing so I don't think there is anything wrong with using slug in the name. I think I would assume there are occlusives in the Futurist line. Speaking of snail though I got the Cosrx snail peptide eye "cream", which it is not, and I really like it!
Oooh I’m so glad you did the naturium glosses! I was really interested in those, but we have a similar skin tone in the same undertone, it seems anyways based on our bronzer preferences so I’ll pass. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your ingredient highlights! I’m allergic to shea butter and it’s in everything these days I feel, but I can easily skip past the ones you recommend that have it since you state those ingredients right off the bat! Thanks abbey
Your puppy's tail wagging in the background is absolute GOLD 🪙❤🐶 / Have you tried the La Roche Posey Toleriane line ( I typed that as you were mentioning a product from that very line which you didn't like 😅 ) - the Gentle Caring Wash Cleanser is fantastic....
The Cetaphil night cream is sooooo good! It's going to be amazing as it gets colder here. I had to stop using for a little bit because it got warm here again lol.
The la Roche posay cleansing oil it's more for the body than the face. Try the bioderma autoderm cleansing oil or Avene xeracalm cleansing oil. Maybe you'll like those better 😊
I live in Canada and my dry skin takes a toll in the winter months, and the Laroche Posey lip balm is the one thing that keeps my lips from cracking!! I wouldn’t say it’s « hydrating » but it’s so good for when you have super cracked dry lips!!
I bought the OGX Penetrating Coconut Oil and had difficulty washing it out. My hair was very greasy afterwards. I can use a few drops when it is dry on my hair, but only a very few.
my favorite you recommended in the Cereve Healing Ointment. I do believe it has peptides in it.. With my dry sensitive skin this has done wonders for me... I love it.. every night
I prefer fragrance free body lotion. Scented body lotion really bothers me if it's something that lingers and you can smell all day. Also, thank you for describing some of these scents. Vanilla is one I can't stand so I avoid all things vanilla scented.
Scented body care products are nice but they can cause some dermatitis issues according to Dr. Dray. I always look for unscented products and just spray in perfume later.
Thank you Abbey for all your hard work on every video. It is very appreciated. Have you tried the skincare line from No.7? Your thoughts on them would be wonderful.
Naturium just released their Glow Getter Body Butter. It’s supposed to feel and smell just like their Glow Getter body wash! I bought two of them and can’t wait to try them!
Hi Abbey, just wanted to comment on the Milani Lip oil. 27:14. I have the exact product in the exact shade and on me it is a mauvy pink. Im not sure why yours is so dark and more rosy and the formula feels thin. Maybe something went wrong with the coloring, I’m not too sure. However just wanted to let you know that maybe yours could be defective and to try and find another one in Ulta or target that hopefully won’t be as rosy. I really like that shade and I think if you are able to find another one you might like it too!! Thanks Abbey! ❤️😁
I’ve been looking for a good winter night cream, I’ll give the cetaphil a try. I also love lip balms, so the naturism is on my list, sure would make great stocking stuffers. Love your sweet pup. Is she a cavalier ruby? I have a cavapoo.
I love the la roche posay cicaplast levres, saved my lips,I did use it with some Vaseline, but during the day is really good and at night I layer with Vaseline or laneige lip sleeping mask.
Interesting, these LRP products have been available in EU for years, they must only be coming to the US now. None of these are my faves either tbh, they have better in the lineup.
My understanding is that “slugging” is actually a K beauty technique and maybe that’s why they called those products slugging, not referring to snail additives.
I had to start laughing when you pulled the hair out of the cream b/c it happens to me all the time. Usually in one of my hair products and yes, it is kinda Yuck! I got the Laneige lip mask on your recommendation and I am ruined for anything else. I LOVE love love it. I get really dry lips especially in the winter. I also love Tree Hut products.
Okay, you’re going to hate me for this, but you have to check out sugar works bath and body! They have amazing fragrances, lots of ones inspired but designer fragrances, BUT, they also have perfume oils! You can layer with your perfume, or, you can add the oil to unscented body lotion! Total game changer!! They have a lot of vanilla cake marshmallow scents, I know you’ll love them! They have body butters and other products too!
I really like the swatches of the naturium lip products because I was considering buying some of the cafe collection but I think most will be too dark for me
OMG, The Tree Hut cinnamon dulce is the best. It smells like a Biscoff cookie - and I can't find it at Target anymore :( Maybe more will come out as we get closer to the holidays. I'm tempted to try that Versed facial cleanser :) Thanks for the review.
Makeup on your waterline is not recommended, you cover the glands in the waterline that produce oil to lubricate the eye. Therefore if you use a lot of makeup you can clog the glands and Get dry eyes, worst case you can Get a stye or other infections due to clogging! (I am a certified optometrist/eye doctor)
My skin is light with an olive undertone. The Naturium ones will probably work for me!! Thank you for always being so honest, funny and you!!!! Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
Hey Abbey. I tried the Cetaphil Healthy Renew eye gel serum and it seems to cause me serious irritation. Red itchy patches under my eyes! Have you heard of this? I’m so sad that I can’t use it. I’ve used other Cetaphil products with no problem.
What do you recommend applying throughout the day for dry and chapped lips?? I use Vaseline at night and in the morning, but I don’t like carrying around the small tub. Also, winter skin care routine for your fellow Midwesterners???
I would buy the mini Vaseline or Aquaphor tubes…or repurpose a teeny tiny cream jar. Like those tiny Laneige lip mask sample jars! I use one to carry Advil lol
I love your makeup today. What lip oil do you recommend? My 10 and 12 year old granddaughters are into skincare. They keep talking about Bubble products. What do you think of them?
Hey Abbey, I'm curious if you can help me. I have very thick, shoulder-blade length wavy hair that is relatively healthy (I have regime that I've been sticking to and seems to keep it looking healthy: coconut oil preshower, clarifying shampoo, pureology hydrate shampoo/conditioner, hair mask, pureology leave in, maybe some light coconut oil for frizz, don't brush when wet, only air dry, washing 2 - 3 times weekly). I'm having a problem with detangling and was wondering if you could give me some advice. I use the pureology leave in conditioner (have tried other products) and nothing seems to help with detangling. When referring to detangling, I'm referring to being able to run my fingers through my dry hair without getting 'caught', if you see what I mean. I don't have damage or split ends, from what I can tell. Sincerely would love your recommendation.
If you don't mind I let you know what works for me and you can try if you want. I put hairmask on my hair length, but when my hair is soaking wet and I wait 5-0 minutes...I had this issue and this helped me.
I should have waited until the end to comment. I just take my favorite body lotion, Add rub some tretinoin in it with my hands and apply! I know we're not supposed to. And i'm sure I'm not getting an even application. But it's working really well on my age spots on my arms and chest 😉🤭😁💗💗
Do you have any suggestions of what to use in replacement for La Roche rosalic tinted moisturizer cc cream. It has been discontinued and i feel like my life is over 😭
I did just get an email that Naturium is releasing a body butter in the same fragrance as their Glow Getter body wash. It’s a VERY mild scent, but at least it’s something 😅
I think there is plenty of products such as body care with tons of fragrance in it. I think its great naturium didn't put fragrance in. It won't break me out 👍
I agree with Abbey not being an influencer that tried to give us a sales pitch selling us something. Although tbh I’m a dark and bold lip lady, even though I’m as pale as Abbey 😂. But please, Abbey, keep it up, I get so much information from you, and I know if you can, you give me science, which I greatly appreciate it.
