I've been streaming Session daily challenges for 3 years now and my main issue is that if a challenge involves a location, then it's 100% the first "Chatham/1PP/Banks" map, no Bridge, SF, China Banks, or Sewers challenges. You can imagine how bored I get re-doing the same ones year after year...
The bones are great but the game should've not been pushed to 1.0, it still feels like an early access title. Also i don't mind adding paid DLC, i happily purchased the park that came with the 1.0 launch, and i also bought the waterpark albeit a while after it was released. I did not by the mall yet simply because while i don't mind paid DLC, there's just way too many bugs and incomplete gameplay for them to throw out ANOTHER paid DLC like that. They need to show they're still trying to fix things like the weird auto manual, getting thrown out off kinked rails way too easy, that landing bounce, early access first pass implementation of vert, goofy animations, loads of late flip stuff etc before i'll buy another paid DLC. Franky i'm barely playing the game myself lately, which means currently i'm not playing any skate sim/game at all.
i want the animations fixed definitely, but i also really want grabs, boneless, and no complies so bad. but all these games seem super dead. I also find i can pretty consistently kill the board bounce by stomping the board (left stick down, right stick up in goofy on landing)
i play session since kickstarter but i dont buy the DLCs at this time (i think its a Problem that all Players buying this Stuff) the Main Game is to this Day not final ready (for what we all give them the Money already) so i think it goes the wrong direction with this Game (and i Love this game). After Creature give us the final Game (Bugs Fixes....), than its Okay to plan DLCs and the must People i think will buy this things (After a real v1) but in this situation its making no sense (i feels like they stealing from the Communtiy. in same way..)
I saw the shredders video and i really enjoy watching you play other games aswell. I suggest you try steep aka riders republics dad its kinda old now but the flow and scenery is so worth it
I can see both sides of this. On one hand, I am all for paid DLC. I dont expect every studio to put out everything for free. I am willing to help support them. And I do imagine they are working on something. I also dont need a daily update. I dont need to know which parts theyre fixing. As long as it gets updates... On the other hand, if youre gonna make an announcement, just say "Hey, heres whats going on with the game. We dont have a date yet, but we are working on it." Just something to keep people happy. Some are gonna want more than they can give, but over all just take 2 minutes to add some reassurance. There are obviously things we all want. Like I really want grabs and different bailing animations. But I will stick with the bug fixes for now. Just let people know its happening.
I have bought the game about a year ago, maybe more. I tried it. I tried it multiple times. I just can not take it seriously with the animations and physics. I hope that they will get it to a level that will make it feel like it's a sim, let's say, they would implement animations similar to riders republic. while in riders the gameplay is obviously arcade, full on, the animations are absolutely amazing.
@@Seditionzz i don't have any issues with how it is. i do not regret buying it wither :) i think those improvements will be implemented at some point in the future. it's just a slow process unfortunately. ✌️
@@Seditionzz it's more of a "passive hope" haha. we may not have the upmost best skate sim yet, but i am still quite grateful for xl and session. after skate 3 we didn't really have anything for many years. there's the new skate game in development, there's zellah games and there's another untitled one in the making. fingers crossed!
I was a die hard session fan but I've barely played it for the past year. I was sick of the updates breaking things and ruining the way I skated. Session was much better before 1.0 came out.
I have been playing since the Alpha and it still has lots of bugs that should be fixed. Session is a great game but It's been almost 4 years and I feel that when Skate 4 launches nobody will play session...I feel that after 4 years I lost hope in this game to reach a good not bugs experience.
Creature and lazy day need to work together and maybe they can actually make a game. Both of these games are basically demos. They both have good things but are so incomplete and far from an actual game.

@@derpderpin1568 Eh, I have fun in both. I also have immense amount of frustration with missing features and issues in both. My Skater XL is propped up by 8-10 mods, all of which have their own quirks and issues, as well as modded maps which are also oftentimes plagued with issues themselves. Session needs a tonne of bugfixes and animations updates. They had such a good vision for the game - while Nacon gave them the funding to keep going and actually release the game, it also took them heavily off-course.
I’ve been playing way more session bc I find skating switch in skater xl too unintuitive. I’d definitely love to see throwdown/magic broomstick animations implemented
I spent 50 bucks on that game and it. has been a buggy mess since I got it. like I get it. They're a small company, but they have to do better than that. And if you're not going to fix your game, then how dare you charge for DLC? fix the game or go out of business. That's what I say
I didn't even see you mention the wobbly legs. or like when you're riding up to a spot and suddenly the sidewalk will act like you hit a rock or something. LOL. It's way too unpredictable for a game that's based on very precise movement And if they can't even fix the basic game, **** the D L C
Things that Crea-ture should to fix: 1. Regular Switch / Goofy 360 Hard is over deeped after flip pitch update; 2. If you brake in Regular Switch / Goofy your skater leans forward; 3. Physical Animation broken ankles, this issue there's from release and they still not fixed it; 4. Yup trick landing bounce glitch too.
Improve vert- even just ollies across a bank-to-bank looks super bugged out and you're like rocket-ollieing through the ramp essentially. Grinding coping is a joke, you can't air out or anything. Remove some of the damned cop cars and jersey barriers that clog up the map and make it feel post-apocalyptic.
They did mocap way back in the day, they just need to adjust/polish the skater animations. Was supposed to happen before 1.0 but the animator dipped before it happened. Maybe one day it'll happen but not soon😢 there's even unused tricks and animations in game files just waiting . . .
the main reason I cant get into the game, doesnt matter how good you get or how many hours the game just looks scuffed af when it comes to literally every animation. this is coming from someone btw who TRULY wants it be good cause skaterxl is just straight up left for dead by its devs, even given all that SXL is my go to every single time. Should be clear tho that I play heavily modded SXL so if you on console session is really your only option if you want to do any "realistic" type gameplay.
If you have PC the new dlc might be irrelevant when you can get peaches's modded maps and we already have a hollywood 16 modded map idk just fix the animations and bounce glitch or i literally don't give a shit from here on out. Modded Session is still really fun tho!
Skater xl on pc with mods is where it’s at Session is to stiff for my liking maybe they fix that one day also I don’t like the flick to catch I’d rather have the option to click to catch
Nothing, they're doing nothing but releasing dlc. Been playing since beta, we get disrespected cause everyone is complaining about the same stuff the beta players complained about. I've been over it.
Session is by far the clunkiest and least enjoyable skateboarding game I've ever played. It's a thoroughly unenjoyable game to be good at, it just never goes away. SXL is drastically more enjoyable to skate 'realistically' in and often ends up looking better anyways. This game has literally nothing going for it. It's a severe content void with a horrible skeleton underneath. I really don't think there's anything redeemable about this mess. The core gameplay is just so insanely bad.
Exactly I have no problem with buying the dlcs I just hope the money gets put into a good animator. They hinted some good news recently in the comments and seeming to be more communicative.
I came from XL, when it launched on PS4 (and being the only skate sim in the platform) it was good enough. Then I patiently waited for Session to come out and when it did... I never installed XL again and probably won't. I know it has flaws and I want them to keep improving the game, obviously! But what all of that out of the way, I still enjoy session way more than XL. Also the reason why I even have a channel for edits and more than 10Gb of clips on my pc for more videos 😅 Still, just enjoy your games, my dudes and dudetes ❤
@@derpderpin1568 I don't feel that way at all. Especially when doing body varial tricks. Again this is on console. And I'll admit... skating and grinding quarter pipe coping isn't easy or as fluid as XL, but I don't mind having to "powerslide" into the grind position. I also enjoy the board set ups and such more in session, couple that with the games campaign and the skate shops and apartments. Session feels like Thrasher Skate and Destroy 2.0 where skater XL is literally skaterxl. Don't even get me started on all the versions of skatepark of Tampa. But I purchased both of these games day one. I just never play skate 3 or 2 anymore or xl because session is that good.

I don’t mind paying for dlc because I really enjoy the game and it’s an Indy game, only wish they’d drop multiple maps in a pack at once. More clothing and all that kind of stuff without mods but the game is super fun and I will continue to play it
I was quite annoyed when they announced they were going to stop making real life maps. When I first got the game, I was hoping for places like Japan or England at some point, but I guess it's just three cities in the US.
@@_SXUL_ I think they stopped making real life maps because the amount of work and research that goes into recreating real locations means their turnaround time was slower than making up their own locations. When you are recreating real spots, people have expectations around the dimensions and how it should look. I think I remember reading that their justification for it was that making fictional locations gave the team more creative freedom to just make cool spots without the slow turnaround time, and get new maps to players quicker.
It’s a shame we won’t see any more recreations of real life city’s but they are still recreating real life spots inside of their original maps. This new school map seems to feature most of the iconic school spots from the real world which is very exciting!
One thing you can do Pigeon for making more stuff : Make game of skate or 1min-1min30 line per entry on a map official. I will love to see what people can do rn, already saw a lot of crazy things but let see rn !
I still prefer Session over XL despite Session still having some animation issues, missing features and bugs etc, but it's just so much easier and better to play a game you can tweak out the box rather than having to play on PC and tank the game full of mods just to get a decent experience, which is nice for the console players. Wasn't the original concept meant to be a forever expanding maps? Hence why we have the fences and stuff on the NY map, or am I missremembering? Would be nice if they spend the time expanding the existing maps than releasing more paid ones, but I get they need money somehow.
No excuses they really dropped the ball fuck a story line I just want the basics get we get a drop down animations grabs finish transition fix the animations as a whole fix the horse hoofs glitch There’s a lot more I could complain about but if they fixed those core issues that would be awesome but I’m sure this game will not get any more major changes it’s a cash grab at this point they just wanna make as much as they can before skate 4 comes out cause they know the games dead after that

Being a goofy rider, I have completely abandoned this game and only play Skater XL I also would say that those stats on how many players are playing Skater XL are dead wrong because majority of the community that plays Skater XL use the XLGearModifier which is a mod that is only available on Skater XL 1.1 and 1.2 of the game… so the number you are seeing of current players are people playing the public branch, that does not have the most popular mod out right now. The public branch does have the XXL mod for stats, but it does not have XLGM- so I think a solid 95% of the community that are playing and making content playing Skater XL are playing a Non-Steam Game version that was backed up before the most recent update. Hope that makes sense
Great points PT! The things that keep bringing me back to Session are the statistics tracker (That progression is a big motivator) Freestyle tricks, and Object Dropper. As long as there are more maps and objects coming I'm still playing the game. Although I feel I have more variety of ways to play with Skater XL, it's frustrating with the lack of communication, and hearing that certain people have abandoned their map or mod creations because of it.
To be honest...new clothes,decks and cosmetics should be free...maps like you said depending on size and features should be worth money or maybe free like the turtle dlc...I enjoyed the water park map and the sewer map haven't played the mall yet but didn't really see the point in the fingerboard ramps and rails i mean they look cool but I think everyone would rather have a brand new place to explore with some new missions or an updated historical challenges or even Devs challenges...they have a great game here that if your not a real skater or into skateboarding you gonna have a hard time and it takes time to get good at the game i just hope they don't fall into the abyss...
If I drop objects and ramps my skater glitches and falls out of no where. Same with skating switch... If I push twice in switch my skater just crumbles to the ground. Kinda game breaking glitches no?
You can blame Activision for that . They came out with a seventy dollar DLC it's called Modern Warfare Iii . I'm afraid this is the new trend in video games where you should have an update, but you get a paid DLC..
I completely understand wanting to support a small studio by buying dlc, but I already paid for the game and if I wanted to support them I'd donate directly. It's disheartening to see everything they've released being paid dlc when the base game is nowhere near a finished product. I'm not saying to add a battle pass, but good God locking content behind a pay wall just isn't healthy for a dying community.
I haven't played Session long enough to complain, only reason I haven't played it recently. Is due to not being able to have custom clothing on console or the ability to mirror profiles from Pc to console. Literally they only reason I haven't played it. Though I can say as a player I enjoy session cause it's more challenging to make clips & it feels good to land them.
The fact that people think a small indie studio can add multiplayer to a game this buggy(but still fun as hell) and actually have it work is just laughable. Keep dreaming, guys.
Omg the switch I totally forgot switch skating is horrible skate 1 came out damn near 20 years ago and even they had proper switch animations u could instantly tell from ur shoulders u were skating switch skater xl the same thing u can clearly tell but session everything looks the same no matter what stance ur in its really annoying I don’t even skate switch cus it’s pointless it does not look any different
The only thing they should focus right now is mechanics, so much missing from a skateboarding sim and still they're still releasing paid dlc after all this time is disappointing...
i do play on PS5 and yea... i want to be able to put tattoos on my characters and different clothes... backwards hats... and all the maps that computers get......

Personaly i play session for chill i play on a lot of custom map but i have 100% the game all succes all historical challenge and the thing that ruined the game for me is the animation when the caracter fall off it ruined all
You can DEFINITELY work that little bump(when you land) out in your settings. I tend to only get in in lower gravity? I dunno it almost never happens to me anymore
Correction I think it’s in your landing. Like if you don’t land on all four wheels or are even slightly pitched forward. Obviously something that’s not your fault and should be fixed if possible
No comply mod is from game files and been adjusted look better than the first posting of it. Shout out to joshlav for that one🎉 theres decent amount of unsed & unfinished stuff in game files if ya know where to look😮
Its a Josh Kalis sim and I wanna be Jason Adams. My skate brain is very 80s, pools, off the wall kinda vibes. Session has none of that. Ramp skating is tedious just to look and feel bad. Every1 says "Its a sim. Its supposed to be hard" yet pumping in real life is easier and more intuitive than in game. Theres no momentum or flow. You cant even hit a bank to wall or ride up the barriers that are everywhere. There could be 100 maps and every ledge and rail feels exactly the same but thats all you have. You can only do so many flip in flip outs before it gets old. XL is the same but worse. I enjoy the pre pre pre alpha leak of skate 4 more than either of these simply because you can bomb a hill and slide and carve realistically.
Paying for DLC I don't mind at all, especially considering the small team, and the little amount of sales they had. It's not like this game sold millions of copies (I think its more like 371k), and with dev time over several years with multiple people that's hard to sustain. So paying for DLC not a huge issue in my eyes. BUT the lack of transparency (and it's been like that from the start) about the road map they put out a few times and what's up with that. The grabs, animations etc. Nothing. I bought all the DLC so far to support them, but kind of feeling I should stop, because there doesn't seem to be any incentive to do so.
I just bought the game yesterday haven't got into a bug yet but I'm very disappointed because 120hz doesn't work on ps5 I use 120hz on other games just fine but 120hz doesn't do anything very disappointing
ive been streaming and creating content on and off and my biggest pet peeves dont keep me away from the game, but the problem lies in the amount of mod content you can get on pc… truly feel like this keeps the player base divided into trick showcase vs mod showcase groups and excludes some in the conversations and overall experience. even the cosmetic and the appearence updates & content and even maps that creature produces usually falls so lightly with little to no hype because the mod community already makes it possible and already just pushes out everything they ever want… this would explain why everyone is cheesed with the lack of updates, i cant imagine pumping out content like they have and people just shit on it everytime and run back to nikes and a mod map thats well lit. needless to say ill have mods soon 😢😅😂
XL is beyond saving at this point. Session was doing good at first, but now they’re dropping the ball with the uncertainty of gameplay fixes after a year of release. The more time passes by, the more I’m convinced that Skate 4 will cause Session to get left behind like XL.
SXL is far far far better than Session even still right now. It's at least fun, which is the absolute most basic requirement of any video game. Session feels horrendously terrible even when you're playing it perfectly.
Creature studios is straight up destroying all of their good will with the community by clamming up like this and the “we don’t wanna tell you what we’re working on cuz you might actually expect us to follow through” defense is fucking wack. I used to think Session was gonna pull through the Skate. launch cuz the game was so niche and the community was so supportive but that theory is out the window at this point and it’s all creatures fault.
14:28 what's going on with your Map? After that Rail you are missing a entire section with Stairs up to a ledge??? But you are correct, the Rail was raised on their last Update with the "object dropper -cough- improvements"
This is the original layout, that extra section is an optional version of the Brooklyn Banks map. Think you can change it in the Experimental settings.

Well resume of my opinions for both games: skater XL is a great standard skate simulator with arcade vibes.just pick and play and a huge fan service for skaters places. Unfortely the hype of skater XL was just used for fight against the " broken" session skate sim and mke the rivarly. Session sim its just a new born baby for your dead father black box. With a ambicious goal but with almost zero recourses they was made of your own unnutred legs great steps but without the all force like your father, add fan service and new base mechanic. Both games can make more story in the pantheon of skategames if now the decisions make a change.
