I used the trial Logic Pro on iPad and am currently subscribed and will stay that way. I also finally bought Logic Pro for my Mac mini yesterday. I opened a project i started on the iPad and used Flex Pitch to mix some vocals and am now back on my couch still mixing the same song on my iPad. Beautiful..❤ Using the desktop to start the project and then editing on the iPad is a great workflow. I think its worth it.

Excited about Patrick’s new Logic Pro channel because while I use Logic on my iMac, I do enjoy creating music on an iPad sitting in my comfy chair. But I need guidance to fully embrace it - lol!

Not having MIDI out on a DAW is a big let down. However, on an IOS platform, and you depend on MIDI Out, then I see it as more of a workflow workaround. Meaning, you would have to port your work outside of Logic Pro for iPad to incorporate your MIDI gear and complete your project. It does hamper any Live MIDI gear needs though.

I'm loving Logic iPad. I don't have the experience of Logic Mac because I'm a PC guy. But being well into the learning curve, I love how quickly I can create backing tracks for my solo gig. Logic iPad is only at 1.0- looking forward to how it will grow and improve over time. And the subscription doesn't bother me. I feel like I'm getting A LOT for the cost

Great listen! I cannot believe how lucky i am, i started my music creating journey about 1 year ago and as soon as i felt I'm ready to upgrade they dropped logic (actually two days after i bought Cubasis, but i forgove them as it was on sale 😅). I am still just scratching the surface of Logic Pro but its way more than i ever imagined... combined with a few 3rd party apps the possibilities are limitless. 🧢 👍👍👍

Good to see an honest and realistic breakdown of the app. I focus on what the iPad version can do rather than what it can't, and it's a huge upgrade to GarageBand, which is a great free DAW. I've also used Logic on Mac for years, and really did not expect any iPad version would have all the features I'm used to. I love having a touch version to compose on, and then move to desktop. The subscription price is well worth it, and I prefer paying a small rental fee than $200 to "own" something that would probably require a major paid upgrade in several years anyway. I'm not concerned that the iPad version of Logic will remain the power DAW for me on the platform. I think the question is how many iPad users will want to pay for this Pro app.

I think people get typecast into GB is for novices and LP is for professionals.. Loads of us work with all manner of tools/DAW's, I use Logic Pro, Cubase Pro, GarageBand iOS, Cubasis iOS and I agree with the comment that GarageBand iOS is the more fun app out of the bunch.. it's so immediate and the sounds are awsome plus you have the Drummer track, retro drum machines, 8-bit sounds etc.. it's a ton of fun plus it's free with your Apple device !

Thanks, both, for a great discussion! I have picked up plenty of tips from both of your channels over the years and look forward to additional tips for Logic Pro on iPad! btw: My view on the subscription model is that the cost is very reasonable and the fact that I use or will use LPFI on a regular basis, and already have Logic Pro on Mac, means I don't have a problem paying it yearly rather than shelling out another large sum of money just to be able to have a more portable version of Logic Pro.

The only thing I’ve found about Logic Pro which I don’t like is not being able to use a lot of the soft synths I can use with GarageBand due to the lack of IAA. Just as a thought have either of you used Korg Gadget? as a DAW?

I haven’t gone down the Korg Gadget route personally. And I haven’t been using IAA since Apple announced it was going away.

Hi guys please could you both cover mastering in Logic Pro iPad I’ve used Logic Pro to master my dj mixes but I’d welcome some more insight and tutorial on Logic pro for iPad mastering. I’ve watched many of your videos before you’re both very good I’ve used GarageBand before to master definitely Logic Pro better. I’ve searched for mastering on Logic pro for ipad but I’ve not found it covered and it’s very important part of using the app. Thanks 😊

Needs flex pitch. Its the most important feature for song creation. Im working between GB on ipad and Logic on my mackbook. Attentive write in my daw and having the ability to pitch correct something that I make up on the Fly for a vocal track is really important and it is the one feature that's missing The one thing I couldn't get in GarageBand on the iPad and I still can't get it in Logic on the iPad either but it's still has its place and I do think it's very good it's just not doing everything what I personally wish it would do for my workflow. And I keep to move things back and forth between systems I still find it easier to work in sections on GarageBand and I like that for recording the best recording the verse in different instruments at the same time recording the chorus at the same time and I don't find an easy way to do this on logic and either version by the way

Maybe you need a headphone Amp. or a pair of headphones that use less power. Any headphones over 32ohms should probably have a dedicated amp to push the power.

Must admit, I tried Logic Pro on the iPad but I find the workflow needs some time to familiarise (not as easy as e.g. Cubasis). There are a couple of projects I did in GarageBand that I want to develop in the future. But for now I’m shelving Logic Pro with a view to returning to it at some point when I have time.

Bad things: subscription, no macro knobs, alchemy synth its just a preset player and not a complete synth...the sampler is just a sample player and not complete sampler....
