Students, usually young people, tend to explore. the fact there are nearby cities would be a "selling" point for Liverpool. I also agree with what the women said at the end, she would come across better (compared to the other interviewees) because she would fit in well with the demographic of "students". That man was to hung up over a technicality.
As every student knows, you must answer the question to what the examiner requires. If she was asked to write an essay titled "What is Great about Liverpool" but instead writes about the history and all about Manchester- do you think she would get any marks? In the end of the day, she haven't got a clue about Liverpool.
