What’s going on with old-growth forests? Check out this update from SCBC campaigner Jens Wieting as we quickly approach the three-year anniversary of the B.C. government’s big old-growth promises.
We are in another climate emergency summer but logging of some of the last old-growth areas big enough to keep temperatures cool, reduce the risk of droughts, flood, fires and landslides continues largely unchanged. Protecting these vital ecosystems is one of the best ways to help keep communities safe and healthy.
It’s not too late to turn things around. Together we can make sure future generations know these forests too.
Here are a few ways you can take action for old growth...
➡️ Send a letter to your MLA and Ministers: www.sierraclub.bc.ca/oldgrowth

➡️ Stay tuned for how to get involved this September in keeping the pressure up on the B.C. government to work with First Nations in implementing the promised paradigm shift for forest stewardship.
➡️ Help spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family.
