Thank you for sharing this brother, you are wise in your words. I believe the ego is zero part of who we are. It wants us to think it is who we are, it has hijacked who most think they are, that is often the issue in and of itself. There is only one mountain top, but there are many paths up to it. It is important to know the goal is to dissolve the ego, not train it. Everything he said is very true. The ego is desire, all of it, it is also expectations, all of them, it is when you use the past to project into the future, it is your opinions and often your beliefs. I think what helped me was to learn how fake the ego is, how made up out of thin air it really is. It also leads to suffering because it is a fear based thought system that has through self talk taken over who we think we are. You are not the persona and cutting free of it is enlightenment. No one will find any lasting peace or joy while they believe they are the ego, no matter how well trained they get it. It's path always leads to suffering as it knows nothing of love, it knows transaction, it knows attack, there will never be peace within its process. There are lots of known paths that can dissolve the ego, ACIM, Zen, Zazen, Kriya, Tantra, there is quite a list of paths and each have their own ways and processes, but they all end up at the same top of the mountain, enlightenment through the dissolving of ones ego. If one pays close attention they can see how life continues to steer them in this direction, it uses all the means it has, often suffering, to return us to the re-membering with source, which seems to require we are in our original form, egoless. It is a big step in life to pursue this path, but as best as I know it is the only way off the wheel of karma, Osho plainly says it is the only known way to stop reincarnating. it seems to break the cycle of creating more karma while at the same time it removes us from the karma of past ego's. Good luck my brothers, life is a challenge, often we are seeking truths that are elusive, it is hard to hold something that is transitory by nature.
