@Hidan Kirito It would have been a terrible shame to not spend your early 20's having fun while you are able to best enjoy it, without a job with real responsibilities. I will never be as young, strong and brash as I was when I was 20-25, and I will never again recover so quickly from hangovers and come-downs, so I can't find it in me to really regret living life fairly loose at the time, although that missed year or 2 cost me some career progression. I find growing up is about finding your own individual reasons for adopting responsibility, both personally and professionally, and that simply leaves less free time for goofing around. I am still fiercely against prohibition and I think all drugs should be legal, going after drugs when the addicts problem is depression and lack of meaningful resposibility, is attacking the symptom, not the disease. It increases the supply of bad drugs, massively increasing overdose deaths. It also lines the pockets of criminals to a huge extent and all but guaratees the spread of corruption. It also turns downtrodden areas against the police, which is a disaster, because they are the areas most vulnerable and most in need if police help.

True that, honestly I have the opinion that certain drugs like Acid, Mushrooms (DMT), and other virtually non-addictive substances should be legal and just highly regulated, that by itself would stop many of the deaths and accidents related to these drugs which are usually caused by people selling and buying shit thinking it's one thing and it turning out to be a completely different, yet usually similar, chemical. Like if things like acid were able to normally be obtained from a merchant that was forced to have their substances lab tested and authenticated instead of some random drug dealer it would make things soo much safer and I imagine would get rid of most incidents involving these non-addictive drugs. People are always gonna want to get "fucked up", all the government does by making substances like ecstasy or acid/mushroom illegal is force people to get them from shady sources and have zero clue if what they're buying is actually what they think it is. You literally can't get rid of the market for drugs, but you can regulate them to guarantee people buy what they think they're buying and to be able to put precautions in place to prevent people from recklessly consuming said substances just like they've done with things like alcohol and are slowly doing with marijuana in the states that have legalized it. Outside of obviously terribly drugs like crack or meth or whatever I think it's obvious that regulation is much better and more effective than prohibition on a substance ever will be. Not to mention the obvious benefit of taxing these substances and taking revenue away from drug dealers/manufactures.
