What's in my holiday makeup bag?
So it might suprise many of you that what I pack in my holiday makeup bag is quite minimal for a makeup artist. I love fuss free makeup on holiday with feel good textures and colours that compliment a tan. Hope this film has inspired you with some new ideas and perhaps made you think about different makeup to take with you.

For me, I rely firmly on Clarins SPF. I do use Beauty Pie too at home. My holiday treat is buying perfume at the airport.

I always pare my skincare and makeup down to the bare minimum when I go away because of the weight. I don't wear a lot on holiday anyway!

Does anyone else find they have a beach bag full of different spfs, one for my face, cheaper one for the kids, an old fashioned original cream one for my hubby, one for my body, etc., etc., weighs a tonne 😂

Big broad brimmed floppy hat is best thing for protecting face and chest I’ve found :) also stay out of the sun completely between 11-3 as that’s when you will get burned and skin damaged permanently

Greece has been home for 40+ years and it always makes me smile wryly at holiday makeup suggestions! If your holiday destination is hot (35 degrees +) then I wonder how any makeup stays for more than a few minutes 😂! I use 100spf as I have been having treatment for hyper keratosis but makeup is eyebrows, a little under eye concealer, eye pencil, bronzer and lip gloss/lipstick. On a ‘cooler’ day it might last a couple of hours outside! On other days I’m already dripping before I leave the house and it doesn’t even last before I get to the car!

I was in Greece two summers ago and it was so hot the only thing I could manage was to keep breathing. However I did see local waitresses and the likes who looked very much together and done up - much to my admiration!

One size setting spray keeps makeup on even in a water park where you’re getting soaked every 5 mins! I found even mascara that’s not waterproof stays too when sprayed with one size setting spray

Yes, this was me for years in Hong Kong. Dyed brows and lashes cos nothing stayed on. Tinted spf (Australian Gold is great) and a lip pencil as even lipstick doesn't stay put.

The newer M.A.C. Fix + stayover has 16 hours wear without alcohol, not too radiant. Could not believe it made my make up stay on during a day of plane travel and a hot destination. One size is good too but has alcohol and is drying for me.

Great content got me in the mood for my holiday in 3 weeks.I go bare faced during the day apart from spf which I re apply throughout the day and a light lip balm. Evenings I'll use my clarins bb cream or Studio 10 serum foundation , mascara, lippy , blush and I'm good to go ...to the bar 😊 x

Gorgeous 😘 Best tubing mascara for holidays is the new ELF LASH EXTNDR it’s 7 quid too , best premium hourglass and Lancome Lash idole is a good one , I’ve tried everyone on the market . I get transfer with the Beauty Pie one , I joined their membership again especially so I could try the mascara and I was disappointed, eyeliners are fantastic !

Good morning Caroline and everyone.. would love to try all these products and makeup but in intense heat they just slide off in the humidity😊- (in Turkiye) I just use Vitamin C, SPF, mascara and a bright lippy. Avene face mist just fresh and lovely🌸 and Clinique Happy spray X

The only products I use when on holiday is IT Cosmetics CC cream - moisturiser, concealer, anti redness. Beauty Pie waterproof mascara, Hello Sunday rose lip tint SPF50 😎

I like to tint/laminate eyebrows and tint eyelashes. I curl eyelashes in the day, hate all sorts of mascara. Put on Vichy spf 50 tinted sunscreen& maybe a bit of liquid blush for dimension. I have PMU shaded liner and on the lips usually spf as well, Kiko mermaid collection. In the evening I might put on Armani liquid eyeshadow & tubing mascara (Milani) and maybe a bit more liquid blush. I completely avoid powders. Those are a mess in the heat. And I love any kind of lipstick I have on hand. I really like lipstick in a summer’s evening 🌓

I know you’re always looking for suggestions so how about a Boots No 7 look or one with a purely supermarket-available brand such as Rimmel or Max Factor? It’s for those of us with only Boots/supermarket/maybe a Superdrug locally to shop at, and also for when you forget your make-up bag and need to do a supermarket or Boots dash for replacements! X

Mmmm, sundowners…🍸🍹 Yes, I usually take far too much makeup away with me and end up only wearing an orangey red lipstick or a few cream products, for the reasons you mentioned. This is a nice capsule collection. My fave tubing mascara at the moment is elf Lash Extender. It’s only about 5 quid so you can’t go wrong…. looking forward to raiding Superdrug tomorrow…xx

I'm always concerned about beach bag getting super hot, so I just carry one general spf in it. I'm sure stability is an issue if spf is at too high temps too long

My biggest hurdle with holiday make up is/used to be colour..the browner I get my base/ concealer looks chalky as it becomes too pale. I end up now taking numerous things in varying shades to try and get it right.

Love this look and just perfect for holidays, not overdone, just enough. The Armani Lip Powers are fab and a great selection of colours to choose from. Hello Caroline, great video - as usual! A few suggestions for a fresh summer fragrance: Versace Versense makes you feel like you're in an italian garden full of flowers and fruit; Hermes Eau d'Orange Vert, my dad's favourite but it is lovely on women too; Guerlain Aqua Allegoria has the widest range of different fragrances, it's impossibile not to find one's favourite in each season; last, the evergreen Ô de Lancôme, green and energizing. I don’t take a lot of makeup on holidays. Just lots of spf during the day. In the evening, bronzer, blush, mascara black and blue and several lipstick: in general very bright color: 1 pink, 1 red (velvet morning too), 1 gloss. I bright perfume from Yves Rocher (cheap french brand) Monoi. It smells holiday. and I also have the shimmering oil with the same fragrance. Highly recommended for summer

Love a perfume recommendation! (I’ll be getting a sample ASAP to see if it makes me sneeze). In the daytime, somewhere hot, I tend to wear Jones Road Balms as I sweat so much (hellooo perimenopause!) and a good old waterproof mascara. Plus a Bisou Balm lippie. In the evening I bring out the Estée Lauder Double Wear - just a bit where needed. Thanks for another fab video Caroline. X

Piz buin for my body and heliocare for my face. My favourite fragrance is Clarins eau de soleil, sadly now discontinued. Make up is minimal and easy - so eye creams or sticks. Anything that won’t spill or break.

I am can no longer abide a regular foundation, even the Dior ones that give you a "glow". No, from now on I think I will use a tinted moisturizer or something along those lines. No need to cake your face under cement:)

Hi Caroline, I just came back from Italy and it was so hot there. This is what I used everyday: Toty tinted moisturizer(the compact), SPF from Beauty Pie same as you, waterproof brow crayon from Laura Gellar, NYX gel bush, snail oil lip balm I got there and a pale pink Art Stick by Bobbi in Bare, Ilia mascara. When going out I just added a shimmer eyeshadow in a champagne color and navy liner with a bright lipgloss and finished wth a matte setting spray. Love from NYC xoxog

What a wonderful selection of products, I love it. I tend to take products that will double up in applications ie: bronzer cheeks and eye's or a cover stick that u can use as a base and concealer with powder and mascara oh and a lippie or moisturising lip balm with 2 different lip liners. My make up when I'm away generally 😊 ❤❤❤

The videos from the last few months have got so long. It’s not really speed beauty anymore. I like the chat but there’s often lots of waffle, and I end up switching off. I used to religiously watch your videos each week, and bought a lot of the recommendations, as the videos were useful, and interesting but also punchy. I just feel like they aren’t like that anymore, which is such a shame. 😢

It's so interesting to read this type of comment. Social media platform developers have successfully albeit insidiously shortened attention spans so that consumers don't have the opportunity to really understand a product and are forced into making snap purchasing decisions. It clearly works because creators are now presenting short form ads as honest reviews. What makes us lucky here is that Caroline clearly cares about her audience, and we get to see the product perform while she's speaking. This channel is such a breath of fresh air. I think tik tok and Instagram are where to find the snap snap, buy this buy this buy this. I personally love this style and hope Caroline never changes. 😊

@@KatherineJegede You clearly haven’t been a follower of Speed Beauty for that long. The whole premise of the channel was ‘speed’ beauty and videos lasted around 15 minutes. And it was brilliant. I’m quite able to watch longer videos, thank you, my mind hasn’t completely atrophied due to social media use, but these are full of content, not waffle. You are not getting longer videos from Caroline because she is giving you a more considered review of the product. It is the same as it was when the videos were shorter, except the editing is less judicious, the extra time is used on waffle, finding things etc. So maybe get off your high horse and let Caroline go back to her old style videos, if she wants to.

I’m really surprised that you don’t rate Clinique Lash Power tubing mascara. The brown (which I think is either dark chocolate or espresso) is fabulous and I’ve been using it in both black and brown for about 15 years. I always go back to it whenever I try others. I do love the BP Wrap Star but it’s only in black. ❤

It’s very strange that i haven’t mentioned this mascara as I do love it and rate it. It’s in my pro kit and I’m clueless as to why I left that out 😂
