I gathered up all of my socks and did some visible darning on all the holes and thin spots. Of course I did so while listening to books. Pulling a pair of darned socks out of the drawer to put on makes me smile. 😊
A bag Tuesday AND the books inside - the new video genre grows and develops. Tremendous. Portland Leather Company should pay you sponsorship, you're a great advocate. Delightful.
Heh heh! I just checked and they do actually have “ambassadors”-but I am much too small to qualify. But now I am thinking about the idea of people who really adore particular items because of their quality and then accept money from them. I think that might be common in certain circles, actually. (Imagine Steve becoming an LLBean ambassador…)
@@HannahsBooks Hannah, I look at it slightly differently: you're a Proverbs 31 type of woman, therefore your value is above jewels and no leather goods company can afford you in the current global market. (If you're not convinced, check for a second opinion with David). As for Steve as an ambassador, let me just say that one of my favourite titled videos of his (and he does very good titles) is "Old Man Yells at Booktube." !! Let us have one minute's silence for his career as ambassador.
Thank you so much, Lee! Calling it a "style" definitely makes it seem deliberate--although to be honest, my hair is just between the super-short haircut my son has been giving me whenever he's been home and potentially having it long enough to wear in a bun again. (And, of course, it is not currently underwraps...) Perhaps I should keep it this length!
@@HannahsBooks I think that is a GREAT idea, maybe through the summer? The color and style frames your face and makes your skin look so soft!! I am jealous !!
Hannah, while we enjoy bookish things…ultimately, what we care about is you and thus you can talk about anything you want and we will listen and enjoy- books or knitting or bags or …really…anything. :)
@@HannahsBooks 😂😂 I travel for work quite a bit, and even if it’s only for one day, I usually take at least 3 books with me! 🤓 Typical OCD booktube type… But thanks for asking, I’d like to do a brief video about this as well.
I love any "what's inside my bag" content! You can't go wrong with any of Kent Haruf's books. They range from very good to great. Plainsong is one of my favorite books. Drive Your Plow over the Bones of the Dead was one of my favorites last year, and Zorrie is on track to be one of my best reads for 2023. Happy reading!
You brought back a lovely memory for me, Hannah. My mother used to embroider lovely little flowers to disguise/enhance small holes in our clothing. And you made me laugh out loud at the thought of a book setting your hair on fire. Been there! Thank you for both the smile and the belly laugh. You have two of my very favorite books in your bag: Zorrie and Our Souls at Night. I hope you enjoy them. xo
Yay, more bags! Michael W. Twitty's books sound really good - they're probably not the kind of thing I'd read all that often, but something about them really caught my attention.
Perhaps borrow one from your wife? Or take us on a tour of your plastic grocery bag (which you might have to sit through when I go through my knitting bag)?
Ooh-I can imagine that you would love one of their bags. (I strongly suggest trying the “almost perfect” quality, which are less expensive but still beautiful, and still very sturdy.)
I enjoyed this video Hannah. I ate my dinner while you were showing what you brought home. You have inspired me and I just ordered Dinner With Edward and The Summer Friend from my library. I have read Our Souls at Night when it came out. And saw the film adaptation when it became available at the library to borrow. I am a great lover of my local library. I think of it as my bookcase away from home. haha
I am just back from the library myself. However my bag is much less interesting, just a cotton tote bag. Daffodils? I am envious. We are still in snow storm season where I am… ☃️
Why do you need to have a *leather* bag? You could instead use vegan or pu leather. It's far kinder and environmentally conscious. Leather is not only cruel, it results in deforestation and and vast damage to our natural world. BTW I'm reading Katherine's new book Enchantment. It's too early too early to form a judgement. I'll comment more when I've completed it.
