Great video! Isn't gear so subjective? 😀I like Nemo, but have already had to use the warranty on one pad and another is close behind it. Hike on!

I have the 900l Toaks as well and love it! It fits my whole cook kit and my fire starters.

@@SeagrasstoSassafras yepp! I tried to go smaller just to shave weight (750ml Pot) and IDK... just missed the 900ml. I also LOVE the handle on the 900ml. I use a UL alcohol set up with mine (Kojin Stove, DIY stand and Aluminum Foil windscreen)

I've tried using an alcohol stove a couple times, but haven't had much success with it. Any advice for avoiding user error with those setups?? 😅

@@SeagrasstoSassafras Ive been through a few different alcohol stoves. Ive settled on the Kojin stove. Its super UL, I think it weighs 1oz. It has this cotton like wicking material on the inside that soaks the alchohol and you just light it. Can also blow it out, put the cap back on and save the remaining fuel for later. You do need a stand and windscreen for it. All together for me (stove, stand and windscreen) weigh about 4oz. The stand I bought from Etsy, its a foldable stand. Fits inside the 900ml as well. Ive never had issues getting water boiled. I can get 2 cups of water boiled with about .5oz of alcohol.

That sounds way more effective than the repurposed beer can stove I was using. I'll look into the Kojin stove. I have a decent stand and windscreen already that should work with it. Thanks!

I know you mention a sleeping bag for colder weather but what about one for warmer weather weather?

In late Spring and Summertime I use the Aegismax. It's that neon green budget down bag everyone was raving about a couple years ago. It's great for low 50s and up. Any colder though and it's gonna be a bad time. Lol.
