Here's a tip I rarely seen anywhere. I get teeny tiny flashlights, that have a switch so you can lock them in the on position. I get the kind with a little clip. I put 1 in each of my bags so anytime I need to see inside my bag I can turn it on.
A couple of years ago, for Christmas, I gave several women in my office a motion detecting purse light. It comes on automatically when you open your bag. Very clever. Amazon has them.
Thank you for all your information! You are my go to for info. In October my 28 year old son ( who is Autistic) and I are flying from California to Missouri. We are moving there and my my oldest son and youngest son are driving our cars and moving van. I have been having my son watch you and the vlogs are helping him prepare and get calm about the trip. he has watched so many times he calls you Aunt Laurie. ;) thanks again.
EEEK Aunt Laurie says he is going to have a fun time. Is he taking a furry friend or item? Tsa.gov, scroll to Medical condition, click and then there's a drop down where you can find Autism. Sorry for the delayed response.
Welcome to Missouri! It’s a wonderful place. I was born and raised here and have lived 62 of my 77 years here. People are friendly, there are four distinct seasons, and the state is beautiful.
I keep a pen flashlight in one of those pen pockets. I can light up the inside of my bag to see what I want. When I can justify buying a new one I will get a light liner but in the meantime, this works well for me.
Same here, I always carry a nurses pen torch whenever I travel so that I don’t disturb the person beside me if I needed something in my carryon most specially if I’m travelling alone. 🌈😉
For pouches, I love the dollar tree pencil pouches with the clear front! I also color coded my family with primary colors when the kids were little - everything from toothbrushes, to backpacks! The pencil pouches come in these colors, too. Thanks, Laurie! Love your tips!
I use these clear pencil pouches to organize all the little things I want on the plane. Pen, gum, tissues, lip balm, wallet, anti-bac wipes, headphones, etc. I put it in the seat back pocket. At the end of the flight I wipe it to get the icky germs off and pack it back in personal item bag. I found large ones (11" x 8") on Amazon that even fit a paper back book or my e-reader. I find the seats so tight nowadays that it's hard to get things out of my bag once it's under the seat. I'm not a contortionist! I actually stow this bag in the big outside pocket of my wheeled suitcase and pull it out before putting the suitcase in the overhead bin.
After seeing this video, I followed the link for the backpack and ordered it. I absolutely LOVE it. I already have some backpacks, but none have the top opening like this or as many pockets. I also ordered compression cubes and other things you posted in your videos. I don't fly so much anymore but I take tour bus trips with groups, train trips and car trips. Your tips are just as appropriate for those, too. One item I always carry is a very large trash bag (33-gallon size) instead of an umbrella, to use as an emergency poncho in case of a heavy downpour. Since I carry small scissors, I can easily cut a face hole and slip it over my body, or split it down the side and wear it cape style. Love, love, love your videos & I'm guilty of binge watching the same ones over & over!!
So glad you finally did a review of the cute stripey backpack, thanks! When you first got it I thought it was adorable but now I'm convinced. I have way too many bags trying to find the perfect personal item 😂. I'm a backpack kind of person just to be hands free.
Totally agree! I went and bought my own after seeing Lauie’s! Love the light interior, the pocket placement and the backpack feature! Side note, even though it was described on Amazon as navy/white, mine is definitely navy/gray. Still really cute!
I bought this backpack a year ago for our trip to London and France after watching this video, and I LOVE it. I take it everywhere, weekend trips and day trips. It's my electronics bag and I love it so much.
I love how you use items that you like...not items some company gave .... I have seen too many “so called” travel gurus do that...you are just genuine....so I keep watching 😻👍
I have before, but in the contract I state that I can give my honest opinions. I do learn best by experience and want to be authentic. Being sponsored helps pay for these items and my production costs fyi. But I try not to sound salesy.
I love Lug’s Puddle Jumper Duffle for my personal item. It has a nice trolley sleeve (no backpack straps, though ). It has 18 pockets, and it slides under your seat without having to lay it on its side. I love this feature since i can easily disinfect the plastic protector on its bottom.
I love your terminology 🤓. I just recently got a Minkeeblue bag recommended by a fight attendant. It is split horizontally and I love that it’s not a bottomless pit. Easy to compartmentalize.
Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions. I fall into the upper age bracket and prefer not to carry bags, so I'm a backpack for my personal carryon. I have two, a lightweight Rick Steves Civita day pack or a RS Ravenna day pack which is a little larger. I have adopted your great ideas for using pouches. One thing I try to always do is be consistent where I put items, then I don't have to look in all three pockets wondering where I put something. It also is easier to pack. Starting to travel - train trips in US this fall, Greece next spring.
I have the same style backpack but mine is a diaper bag with tons of pockets. I love that thing for travel! Things that live in my backpack at all times: A huge battery pack, walking pharmacy, USB port, a pouch with all of my tech cords, lotion, an office pouch with pens and such, a little pouch with tea bags & chapstick for the airplane, spare glasses, eyeglass case for my regular glasses, a pouch with some cash (hidden) a pouch with a few emergency girl products and bathroom wipes, and a toothbrush and tooth paste, a pouch with spare undergarments, a little duct tape. On travel day I add my iPad and water bottle oh and a sweater. Even with all of this I can slip in my crossbody and or wallet depending on where I am going. I have a few diaper pins around the interior of my bag for securing zippers and such. It is amazing what a simple diaper pin will do to deter folks from getting in your bag.
I have the backpack in a gorgeous floral. If I still went into the office I would buy it in other prints too. I LOVE IT! I've used it several times for air travel and LOVE all the pockets.
I bought the personal item bag (the black and white backpack) for my trip to Hawaii. I LOVE it!! I had it loaded down for the flight and them emptied it in the hotel and used it as a purse for the tours we went on. Thanks for the tips!
Heading to France in September! If you are planning on using a backpack for your personal item and to carry during the day while on your trip, keep in mind many sites and attractions limit the size of backpacks. Museums in particular do this. The attraction’s website will most likely list this information so make sure to check. I’ve even seen museums list a size limit with no offer of a place store your oversized item. Just be prepared so you won’t miss out!
Yes, this has been my experience as well. I'm from Philadelphia & several museums have a "no backpack" policy. I'm also packing a small waist pouch for my trips.
@@lisamyers5824 The reason some (not necessarily all, but for sure some) places have a "no backpack" or "only small backpacks" policy is because people are less aware of how far they stick out when they have a backpack on as opposed to a purse (and thus are at greater risk of the backpack running into things on accident); if this is the case, putting a strap over one shoulder with the backpack hanging down at your side, like a purse, can sometimes circumvent the rule, since this type of rule is more for making sure people know where their bags are at all times and how far they stick out. Another reason some places have a "no backpack" policy is for security reasons - I don't actually understand this one myself (since a backpack can be tiny yet still forbidden, yet a purse or other crossbody bag can be huge yet still allowed), that's just what I was told when I asked about it for the Statue of Liberty (back when that trip was still supposed to happen last spring, 2020).
@@SnowySpiritRuby yes the museum explained that people generally have no idea how far those backpacks stick out ( I'm sometimes definitely guilty of that 😏) . Good point on the size thing as well. Thank you.
I use my travelon crossbody bucket purse. You can roll it to fit in your luggage or lay it flat. It also holds my water and dslr camera. Small wallet and other essentials like chapstick, phone, etc. Many museums want the item in front of you. A backpack can knock things down. Some places let you wear your backpack in front. My husband went with a messenger bag instead of a backpack.
I recently traveled with a Vera Bradley microfiber campus backpack as my personal item and it was great. Got the navy blue color on sale on Amazon but wish I had paid extra for the black. Very lightweight, lots of room, pockets, water bottle pockets, comfortable to carry. Used it a few times at my destination as well. It can be machine washed. Highly recommend!
Hi Laurie, I love watching your videos. I am flying to Japan in less than a month, my daughter is getting married there. You have been such a help to me. Thank you and keep up the fantastic videos!
I like to use a rolling backpack that has a small front removable pack on the front to use as a daypack (small) or leave it on if I wish. The inside of the pack is light green. Yes, I too love to use packing cubes PS I pack a black purse insert ... looks masculine...that folds flat in the pack to use on my night stand to hold my book I'm reading, glasses and a small travel flashlight/lantern combo.
Oooh, a flashlight travel lantern would be great for getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and not have to turn on the bright bathroom light!
I just got back from a 13 day trip to Iceland that involved daily hiking so 2 sets of clothes were required for most days. Plus moving hotels almost nightly. I wish I had seen your videos before I left as I felt so disorganized during the trip and too much luggage although I don't feel I over packed. Just didn't pack well.
I find it so hard not to over pack. I keep thinking: "What if we go here or there and I don't have the proper clothes? What if I don't feel like wearing what I packed? What if the weather changes? Etc... I do try though because I remember my Carnival cruise years ago when I was so miserable with such a large, heavy suitcase!
@@elissagreenstein8543 Hi Elissa! I always add my links to the description box below the videos for you. You click the upside down triangle or the Show More words. Here is this backpack: bit.ly/3rnqUmR
I use the LUG Ranger XL - love it! it has a trolley strap that velcro closes when you aren't using it. It always has beautiful lighter interior fabric to make it easy to see what you have inside it. Has 2 outer stretch pockets for water bottle or umbrella and a front RFID pocket for wallet, passport, credit cards etc. Its now a more plasticized fabric too which makes it easier to clean. Plus it comes in really cute colors. Lastly, when I'm not traveling I use it to keep my art supplies organized just for taking to another room, or to take them to the senior center (where I teach a class) or to friends homes to do projects together. It also makes a super weekend bag of course, when you aren't flying. I also have a few Samantha Brown pieces for small trips when I pack very frugally. Her underseater is nice, but in my experience her stuff doesn't last that long. Even though they claim to warranty it, those pieces are always sold out so they never do end up replacing them! Bummer Samantha. Otherwise I would love her products too.
Love this! I like bags that have structure too. Do the airlines lose your suitcases very often? Maybe you could you do a video on what to do if your bag is lost?
My go to travel bag is the Lug Pudddlejumper, I have tried so many bags. It this one just works for me. My husband now even carries one. Everything has a specific spot so I know right where everything is. I also use pouches to keep my little stuff contained.
Hi Laurie!!! I really like my Lug! i think the name is "Via". It has so many organizational pockets. Heading to Washington stste next week for a vacay!!! Can't wait 😁
I just got the backpack you show for my upcoming trip to Washington state! I don’t travel much and wanted a bag that would have great organization. I'm so excited to use it!
Your striped backpack is very similar in design to my Lug Via Tote. I bought one on sale several years ago and it has become my favourite bag to use as a personal item on both domestic and overseas flights. It fits everything I need for the flight as well as a packing cube containing an extra outfit. I love the organization. I find it very comfortable to wear in backpack mode. I also carry it a lot by the tote handles as well as utilizing the trolley sleeve to put it on top of my roller bag. I haven’t really used it in crossbody mode, but I like having that option in case I ever decide to use it.
Thank you again, Laurie. Having the right personal item bag makes or breaks the experience. I am ALWAYS looking for upgrading to the ones that are just that much lighter, or have just that much better pocket design. Love your selections.
I'm leaving tommorow and I can't wait. I've been watching these videos for 2 weeks. (Our country and the country we're going to allows it and we've had test done and we're being really careful)
great review. I love that you review affordable stuff, not crazy expensive. I am going on a two week tour of Europe next fall but am already strategizing how I will take all the essentials with a carryon. these personal bags are just as important for organizing and maximizing space!
I love my Lug Via bag! It's very similar to your striped bag. Wide mouth opening, tons of organization, lots of colors and patterns. It converts from tote, to backpack to crossbody. It's a great bag!
I just returned from a two week trip to Spain !!! What a blessing to be able to go while our son was there finishing up a year in Andalusia teaching English. I am SO GLAD I found your channel Lori ! You are darling and I love your accent! I purchased your striped carry-on duffel bag and used it as my personal item during a recent trip to Atlanta and Spain. This is a great inexpensive bag found on Amazon. Although it is black inside, it has tons of space and I love the pocket feature that allows it to hang on the handles of my roller bag. It fits easily under the seat in front of you. I hope it lasts a long time. It was not very expensive. I already had found the value of using packing cubes. I packed for two weeks and one roller board and this small duffel bag. I use lots of individual small bags like you suggested which really helped. I also loved your tip of using a contact lens case for medication or a small amount of eye cream or face cream. Love your content! Thank you so much! I just keep getting more and more efficient with my packing every trip I take. It is so freeing to pack light, especially in Europe When hopping on planes trains and automobiles! And walking up many steps to find your hidden hotel in Granada Spain!
I have tried going to regular bags after no longer “needing” a diaper bag, however, I can no longer go without the organization that is found in most diaper bags, especially higher end bags. Many diaper bags also have the stroller clips that I can attach to a grocery cart if needed and some have luggage sleeves too. I’m preferring ones that are also convertible to backpack, crossbody or shoulder carries. They’re so functional.
I travel lots for work and pleasure. I LOVE my Ameribags. There are all sizes that can be used for 'purses' or cross-body backpacks. Organization is the best and they last. There is a place for everything and unlike traditional backpacks, everything doesn't fall to the bottom. Packing cubes are a must. Thanks for all you tips!
I just got my backpack carry on from Amazon. Yippee. You are right, it is just perfect with the squared opening. So much easier to pack things and it does leave your hands free for your other luggage. You are the best, I just love all your tips and just added you to my instagram account. Thanks so much Laurie.
Hello. My requirements for a good carry on bag are that it be lightweight (empty) & have multiple ways to carry it. Shoulders & hands get tired. I'm like a scout when packing & carry lots of just in case items. Even the pouches i use for organization are very lightweight. Thanks!
I am learning so much from your videos. We are senior citizens and are hoping to go to France, Spain and Italy 3-4 weeks in October 2022. We are learning and buying early.
Hi Laurie. I just ordered a backpack like yours for my upcoming trip to England. Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly explain the benefits and why you like something or don’t. 😀
I fly next week and I totally forgot to pack a crossbody bag 😭 thank you for reminding me! By any chance can I bring a hair straightener on my carry on bag? I don’t even know if I can and I’m pretty sure I read through the entire TSA check list!
I bought the black personal item bag on your recommendation in an old video. I got it in navy blue and got it cheaper. I have used it twice so far and I LOVE IT!!!! It holds so much. Thank you for all the information. You are awesome.
@@mercedes4328 Yes it sure would. Are you the one on IG who told me you bought this backpack? It's very lightweight, and I forgot to mention in my video how easy it is to put on.
I have a bad back and just bought a spinner underseat bag. It is life-changing! I am a pouch person too and the underseat bag has plenty of room for my pouches, a sweater, my iPad, sunglasses, AirPods, water bottle, snacks, and the other assorted stuff I carry with me. I am not a minimalist packer, ha ha. It's small enough that I can wheel it up the aisle, it fit perfectly under my seat, and this was the first trip I didn't have a backache after travel!
I'm a Lugnut and love my Lug bags for travel. The organization is amazing and there are so many bags that you can find exactly what you are looking for.
For the past 5 or 6 years I have been carrying a relatively large backpack I received from work as my personal item. It is shocking the amount of stuff I can put in there! And I don't really mind shoving it under the seat in front me and if needed, putting my feet on it; it's solid black and very sturdy. For someone thinking of getting a backpack, make sure you won't mind possibly mistreating it a bit; sometimes you may have to. Really appreciate all your tips and tricks, Laurie!
I bought the black and white backpack after you got yours. I love it. For a cruise with a night before hotel, it help the compression cube of clothes worked very well.
Buying that backpack. Thanks for the info! I, too, don't like a bottomless pit, dark bag. I need feet, a firm bottom, zippered closure so everything doesn't fall out, and LOVE the tiered storage for all our devices, magazines, books, and the water bottles. That thing is amazing!
Going to be traveling by plane for the first time and we are going to Toronto Canada from Louisiana. Your channel is helping me so much with my anxiety about the whole trip.
Love your channel, thanks. I use paper towels on the bathroom counter & nightstand of hotel so my items don't make contact with counters. Just pack several sheets and you're set.
I love your ideas! As a retired airline employee, I never check luggage. I have discovered the Aloha Collection of all sizes of waterproof bags that are great for the beach and traveling. They are a bit pricy but they often have great sales and I just can't get enough!
Thank you Laurie for these awesome tips. The tip that has worked wonders are the lil pouches vs my previous toiletry bag. Visiting family in Metz and Lille, France next month. Depending on regulations we will cross into Belgium and/or Germany. For other viewers, you can do it! I’ve been carry on + personal for 5 years now. I’m a plus sized woman with large feet. I always pack 3 pairs of shoes, 2 pants, a skirt, a dress and at least 3 tops, cardigan, swim suit, undergarments and a large scarf and 1-2 small rfid purses and a few S hooks. BTW I traded my higher end 21” to the collapsible 19” ikea carry on. Loving it!
I absolutely love your tips and your lovely personality! I keep a compression cube containing a pair of black leggings, black shorts, underwear, bathing suit and t-shirt. I also keep a small pouch with a few cleansing wipes, sample moisturizer, small makeup pallet, travel toothbrush, travel toothpaste, a few safety pins (different sizes), ear plugs, small individual eyedrops, and a travel hairbrush. I keep a small first aid kit and a small pouch with sanitizer wipes, 2 disposable masks, OTC meds such as Tylenol, Benadryl, etc. These items stay in my personal item bag at all times.
Hi, Laurie. Thanks to you, I have gone with the Lilly and Drew Weekender. I think I will love it for our long flight later this year. We got the Travelpro Maxlite 5 for my husband’s personal item, and he really likes it. You are just a world of information. Thank you.
Agree with you a good backpack and pockets in that backpack. Light colored interior is a must. Have a lovely Tumi backpack that is awesome except for the dark interior.
I need a glossary: Personal item bag. Carry on bag. Backpack bag. Weekender bag. I'm (obviously) a novice with all this. But LOVE all your tips!! I'll get it all sorted out. I don't leave for 3.5 months.
I love your videos! We just got home from a road trip. While packing the car to come home, I told my husband to put whatever it was in the back corner because it will smoosh and squish. Lol. Thank you for helping the organizers like me feel more prepared!
Thank you for every single video you have made. I'm visiting my Oklahoma family this coming October after 3 years, and I'm panicking because of COVID still going on. My anxiety makes my life a little bit difficult. However, I have been starting watching your videos like a marathon, my fear of traveling is going down.
Fear can be so gripping. It is a liar too. There is a song called Fear is a Liar. Anyways I know that doesn't help. I hope your trip goes so well you are at peace while there.
@@cynthiarbd0712 Don't know whether you've watched it already or not, but if you haven't, Laurie also did a video with her husband last year (forget when exactly) about how the air gets filtered on a plane with regards to germs and such. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.
I just got that travel backpack, in gray, LOVE it! looks nice, durable, the 14 inch is the perfect size even fits my MacBook with lots of room to spare for everything. I have a travel tip! I need only a few liquid items (eye drops, etc) for in-flight but don't want to rifle through after TSA to pull the items out (or remember all that I need) so I have a snack size baggie inside my quart size baggie, then when I'm through I just pull out the snack size & put it in my personal item backpack. The quart size goes in my luggage.
I’m going abroad to Hungary next week to see my family, I can’t wait! Great video, and I totally agree about backpacks being really easy to use. Last time I flew, I used a shoulder bag and it got so heavy I could barely carry it! Backpacks are just a lot more comfortable to carry for a long time. Mine also has more compartments than my shoulder bag. :)
Good information on travel bags. One more thing I've been doing for awhile now is I have a thin, very flat fanny pack around my waist for my essentials like ID, money, cards, meds, tickets. It's flat against me, unnoticeable under a jacket or top shirt. If I ever had to exit the plane in an emergency, it would stay with me, ( men get to keep wallets in their pockets). Owl brand is the one I use. Only $10 on Amazon last time I bought one. I'm on my second one in 10 years. Actually, I use it for my all around town "purse" or personal bag. Hands free, safe, and convenient.
Got this backpack and love it! Like that I can hook up a charger pack and charge my phone, leaving it in the side unzipped pouch to hook it onto the outside USB port!! Best personal bag!!!
I love the suitcase with wheels that's in the background. I hate carrying a backpack, especially when I'm on a trip. It opens wide and can fit lots of clothing. It comes with enough compartments that I need.
I have the weekend bag with shoe compartment. I have been amazed at how much it can hold & love the tote strap. Going on a trip to Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Croatia & Montenegro Oct 23rd. My husband & I are taking my parents with us. Super Excited!
The backpack arrived yesterday and I absolutely love it. I am thinking I might get one for my daughter. It is just adorable and I can't wait to use it on my trip. Thanks.
Hi Laurie thanks for all the tips for a carry-on bag. I live in the UK and my husband and myself each travel with a backpack with a charging port as your hands are free for extra shopping or carrying a coffee!! My biggest tip would be to buy a bag with a light fabric interior rather than black as it’s much easier to see inside and find your item. I also use individual zip bags for my bag contents eg; a bag for headphones, charging leads etc, another bag for personal items; hand sanitiser, tissues, antibacterial wipes etc. Take care and travel safe everyone ✈️🛳🚗 xxx
Thank you so much for all these tips and “tricks”! I’ve tried many bags but I am now convinced that the ones you share with us are the best! We travel light (very light). We’ve used osprey bags to travel - they are excellent bags but can be bulky depending which ones you have.
My new bag arrived and it is awesome. I got the backpack one from this video (in black) . I love all the features. Even the little side pocket for tissues and especially the phone charger port. The straps are adjustable when wearing. I could go on and on. I hope to travel later this year and road test it. lol Great vids and thanks for the tips! Especially the one about packing an outfit in the personal bag.
I love my Lug Trolley bag to pack my makeup! I like using a wheeled under seater for my personal item. I can fit tons of stuff in it, without having the weight on my back, or shoulders.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie-I have the American Tourister 4Kix Underseater, but I just bought the Delsey luggage on Prime day, with the Hyperglide Underseater. I’ve traveled with the AT one, and it works great, but haven’t used the Delsey one, yet, so I can’t compare the two.
I'm glad you showed that style of backpack - I was on the fence deciding whether to get one just like it. But now I see it's s good size with lots of different storage pouches. :)
Yay! Many people get the 17 one but I love it. Just got their newest one in 15.6 size and it’s got the same striped interior: rstyle.me/cz-n/gz5z9bckgqp
I have the same backpack in grey. Love it! The stripes are great inside and make it easy to find everything. Lots of room. I was surprised. I used it and a carryon with compression bags for a 12 day trip to Scotland. Worked great!
Thank you for letting us know about the Lovevook, black and white bag. I ordered one for my teacher granddaughter who also travels a lot. Of course, I loved it so much, I ordered one for myself. This will solve the airline under the seat bag issue. All of your videos have been so helpful.
Hi. I’m going to Amsterdam & Iceland in Sept. sadly I need wheelchair assistance. I was a cop injured in line of duty. I check 1 bag. I have 2 carry ons. I love your idea of compression bag in my carry on. Great idea. Love your channel. Happy Travels🧳
Good for you for living life! Did you check wheelchair assistance when you bought the ticket? If not you can wave down someone right when you get into the airport. Just add time. So glad you get to go to these places. I have not been to either! Are you going to figure out how to do the blue lagoon, or have you not done pools yet?!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I can walk, it’s not pretty tho. I just can’t traverse airport terminals. I’m going to Blue Lagoon first thing when they open up. Can’t wait. I always ask for wheelchair when I book tickets.
Thank you from Hawaii! I just ordered the striped backpack from your list. :) Going to Switzerland, Austria, NYC, Azores, etc for a month this summer. For those loose inside pockets in this bag and my purses, I always throw a pair of sunglasses and reading glasses there. They usually fit perfectly. And it makes them easy to grab when you come out to the rental car or want to read on the plane. Turning 60 this month. Blind without my readers! LOL
Another wonderful video. Thank you. I loved how you explained which personal item you took for different trips. I have bought several of your travel items (crossbody bags, personal items, etc) and loved them all. You are my travel guru.
Hi, Laurie! Thanks for your advice. As a first time flyer, I actually don't know what will work best for me. I think I'm going to go with the backpack. It looks like it has all the essential space I need.
My Jansport backpack finally died after 15 years. I purchased the black backpack from your Amazon site. Thanks for the videos. They have been a big help!
Hi Laurie, I really enjoy your videos and your sense of humor☺️ Thank you for the great tips. I will be traveling soon to Pinehurst, North Carolina (from El Paso, TX) for the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship that my son will be participating in. I ordered the striped weekender bag from your link and I’m hoping it will arrive on time. God bless you as you continue to bless others through your channel🥰
Woohoo! I love NC! Our son wants to go to El Paso because of old Live PD shows lol. Have a fun time. Friends have had Amazon have a couple days delays but hopefully yours will arrive. It is a nice quality and I do love it!
I am not a seasoned traveler and was looking for a good personal item that was super functional. My trip in August, I'm flying back on Spirit and can only have the one personal item. I saw the backpack on your vid and I loved it!! The look of it and also, so many pockets for easy access to everything I need! I ordered it online and it arrives tomorrow. I also ordered the liquids bottles you suggested. Thank you for all the tips, especially for someone who isn't as well traveled. It makes flying with no worries much easier!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I got the bag and Holy cow I am so excited!! It's so deep!! And two of the pockets are the same depth as the bag! This baby is going to do the job.....PLUS ....it's pretty. Lol It doesn't look like luggage. Now I need all the small cute bags to go with! 😉 Thanks!
@@hollykinslow5193 I took it on my last trip and forgot how easy it is to travel with. I am so glad you like how much room it has for packing essentials. My amazon shop is www.amazon.com/shop/traveltipsbylaurie if you need other things lol. Have a fun trip!
I love all this info. thank you! I'm flying from Mass to Cali next month to finally see my family, and am getting super excited. I am buying that personal bag!!. I have been using pouches for a couple years ago, and just remembered it's because of your videos LOL. I was starting to get a little anxious because I know that there have been a lot of changes, however, I am now beginning to feel more confident and less anxious. Thanks again!
I totally agree with lighter colored bag liner fabric, and it it more important the older you get. I got a great Bagellini tote on discount about 60% off, a great find. Lots of organization, tan liner and different straps. It was medium size so I still have leg room and it fit the international requirements I needed. I just used it for an overnight and everything fit, BUT it did not have a luggage sleeve and I totally miss not having one. I had to get the Travelon bag bungee to attach to the carry on. Not as convenient and restricts getting into the tote. Another thing to mention is to make sure you have a zip top enclosure. So many totes now have a magnet button, but your things can fall out or get stolen. I have a great anti-theft Travelon crossbody bag/wristlet for travel. Locking main compartment has RFID protected passport and card slots, a zip wall pocket and a tethered key clip with LED light. Thanks for all your tips 🧳✈️
