Those Wilson’s are sweet. No way I could use a blade. Had the Mizuno Pro 223s this yr, but not forgiving enough for me. Went for a fitting this past wk end and went with the Calloway Paradyms. Had the best numbers, tried 5 other brands but decided on these. Close second was Srixon ZX 4. I’m 55 yrs old needed more distance and the Paradyms gave me this. I kept my Mizuno T22s .. 54 and 58, love them things. Thx for the video.
When I visit my parents often don’t bring my bag. I play an old set with Wilson gooseneck irons and I hit the 2 iron like 240. All his old drivers have weaker shafts so I basically just hit irons the whole round. Easy to hit fat with no rounding at all at the bottom but very solid. I haven’t hit anything newer Wilson has. I play different brands but call away apex 18 mb’s right now so I too am considering and likely will get some new irons this spring.
My wedge setup is almost identical. I have the 60 instead of the 58. That driver shaft is fire. So stable and smooth through impact. It was heavier than my evenflow shaft, but it was a solid 2-3 mph faster. I have it in a Tsi3 driver. I think it is an underrated shaft.
Nice bag. I‘m planning to get a set of vokeys and I also got the Wilson Staff Blades in the bag. So they blend really well with your setup. Do you only use youre 54 out of the Bunker or does the 58 in the S-Grind work asswell? Cheers from germany
At 6’5 and being a fan of the show I would have thought you would have 120 - 130 gram iron shafts. Are the 105x to help you get the ball up or do you prefer the feel? Your reviews are always 🤙🏽
@michaelnewtongolf Im curious to know how you ended up in the KBS 105 shafts? You would think a big guy at your speed, would be cruising in the 120-130 gram range. Is it because of swing weight issues with the added 0,5"? Cheers, love your vids!
Hi Michael love your videos simple succinct and to the point. Nice to see you not a complete club 'ho'; i remember when u reviewed the Wilson staff irons they were works of art and nice to see they still in the bag. What i find interesting is that you dont have any fairway woods, no 3, 5 or 7. What would you use to approach a par 5 or a long par 4..the 3 or 2 utility, thats scary options with those super unforgiving clubs? I play off a 10 and i have a 25 hybrid, a cobra 5 and 3 wood and a 3 zx utility iron. Whats your rationale, please advise?
always preferred long irons to hybrids or woods.....probably because ive always been a better iron player than wood player. Glad your enjoying the channel
@@MichaelNewtonGolf that titleist grid is squirrelly. nice there are so many options but i had to screenshot the grid from the website to know what the hell os going on
Great WITB Mike. If I didn’t get the limited edition, jailbird 380 putter over this past summer, I would’ve went for a A1 milled in the mallet style. Also playing TSR3. I initially had TSR2 driver since last December, got refit for TSR3 in September and got slightly more ball speed and about 5 more yards of carry compared to the 2. I also have the grooveIT cleaner brush and love it just picked up the mini last month too.
Mike I have 1 word to describe you as a golfer, Traditionalist! love it, no fuss, just go and play the way you've always played! just my 2 cents, Thanks Mike as always! Best reviewer on social! I'd love to see and hear you give more tips/ advice about how you think the golf swing works,, be safe, God bless.
Hi Michael, love your videos! I’m thinking about getting the new mizuno fli hi 2 iron with the hzrdus smoke black 6.5 shaft. How many grams is yours? I know you like lighter shafts, so just curious. Thanks!
I've been following your channel for several years. I still know the reviews that Mark Crossfield made 10 years ago. In my opinion, you now do the best reviews on YT. I'm looking forward to many more videos. Easy to compare clubs, even the review is one or two years old.
Glad to see you've come over to the shorter driver. I know you didnt like Mizuno at 45 inches, but I think once you try it, impossible to go back. And 45.25 at 6'5 sounds about perfect.
A4 is 1.5 up loft but not draw, A3 is. But your right it’s not 0.75”…..D4 is. Took the head for the flight over in the flight bag and whacked in A4 instead of D4 by mistake. Should have twigged at the time but didn’t 😬
