@tiagojoao1827 did yall not see that he was part of their release creator partnership program too? Dude advertised the game's launch and did a couple videos for them back then too along with potatowhiskey and a few other strategy game creators
I always hunger for more story realm, but the more special enemy realms is always welcome :D I just wish they had more special messages for game progress stuff
@@GerritTV187 just look at what each one offers and see what you like better. I think the new cultures are the biggest additions so I recommend looking at that first
There should be DLC that would improve basic cultures, they look quite bare bones when compared to those from DLC (reaver and primal). Also full chaos culture need to be a thing.
I hope that after the last DLC there will be other DLC to add other races, other lords and other cultures. To give an example of Lord: Titans specialize in construction, which can be mechanical or elemental depending on the element chosen. Behemoths specialize in military enlistment, and food, and the behemoth would have unique specialties. a natural behemoth will be a giant larva a chaos behemoth will be a kind of gorilla a materium behemoth will be a kind of buffalo/elephant an astral behemoth will be a kind of serpent a shadow behemoth will be a kind of bat a behemoth of order will be a birds which will evolve and change shape depending on the levels and element chosen, for example: the larva at level 5 will become an iron larva (materium), a fire larva (chaos), etc... then a level 10 cocoon with an aura in addition to darkness (shadow), luminous (order), and level 15, a butterfly if it's nature, a dragonfly if it's astral, etc... while retaining the effects of the previous levels, so a skeletal butterfly with metal skin if nature, materium, shadow and nature, or a hairy butterfly of ice if nature, nature, astral and nature
I thought the DLC was lacking in new features until I realized just how customisable the new culture is. Suddenly I'm not so sad about only 2 tombs being in this DLC lol
i feel more that this is actually DLC content with this new culture uniqueness then cut content that was sold as DLC which both DLC kinda had. so good to see this
For a $10 expansion it comes with quite a hefty amount of content. Looking forward to make my Nature dragon lord over Fey Goatment...or maybe I'll just make The Breyherd.
$41 for just a DLC with 2 races is a RIPOFF! For that kind of money you should be getting a hell of a lot more in the game. Wait until the price is 1/2 off or less.
Very much hoping that if the 4th and final expansion is the last content for the game, we also get a massive patch that revamps the base game culture's mechanics, adds more racial tier units and most importantly, adds a lot more options to realm generation. Those things I think are key to give AoW4 that lasting feeling, that it will be forever replayable. (Like AoW3 is for me)
There were. Both are Nature/Astral dual tomes. First one is Tome of the Fey Mists or something, that focuses on evasion and fey flavour spells and effects. Second is the Tome of the Stormborn, which is focused on AoE spells and costal developments, aquatic and marine themes, naga, etc.
@@sergersgerhersh6594 Oh, I know about the two new tomes. I was specifically talking about the three-spell tomes that come when you play the culture tho.
@@AgeOfWondersOfficial Thanks for the answer. But I was more looking for the three-spell tome that is given when you are playing the Primal Culture specifically. Didn't have much luck finding those. Might be buried somewhere in the livestreams i dunno.
@@RavenNestFriends One is the Combat Summon for your Primal Animal, one is the Enchantment that spread your Primal Boon to non-culture units and one is a Combat Heal.
As much as I LOVE the Age of Wonders series, and LOVE how AoW4 is setup in features and options, I completely stopped playing after the Dragon DLC because the AI was absolutely useless and did nothing but sit around and was never aggressive even in war on the hardest difficulty and it felt like I was playing by myself with the AI just waiting for me to meet my victory conditions. Admittedly I haven't tried the game since before Empires & Ashes came out, so maybe the AI is remotely competitive by now? I'm not alone on thinking the AI was atrocious on launch and wasn't fixed in the Dragon DLC... But I haven't really heard anyone talk about the AI recently. Anyone know the current state of the AI? If you agree it was terrible at launch but think it's much better now, let me know... if you think the AI was just fine at launch... don't bother... you and I see things very differently. I do love everything else about AoW4... I WANT DESPERATELY to love this game, but the AI was so atrocious at launch I just had to stop playing out of boredom. I felt like I was playing alone no matter how many AI opponents I put in a game. Tell me what the current state of the AI is... I haven't played since the Dragon DLC.
It's much better. Though if you're much stronger than them they're not going to just suicide their armies by invading, it needs to believe it can win for it to attack
@@bananatree2527 How about the AI just attacking your cities? One of the most frustrating things about the AI up to Dragon was that the AI just never seemed to ever attack your cities, even if they just had one or two guys defending it. The AI has just always seemed incredibly passive, even on the hardest settings (once again, I stopped after Dragon DLC, so hoping it's gotten better).
Above the Land of Gryphon, wild tribes lure. Order of wolfess within dense and hostile forests. Polar rigdes, where moles, sons and daughters of mammooth want to be alone. Silent plains, from where the tigers, sons of crow, were banished to beyond the sea. Screaming sands, where the distant cousins of rat gueen-mother bow to their serpent. Black ashen land, from where hordes of goats plan to burn the world. And mysterious swamps cut by rivers, where children of long dead dragons prepeare their own ascension.
This DOC looks cool and I’ve enjoyed AoW4 from what I’ve played, but I wish there had been a proper story campaign. Those story realms don’t really count because you don’t even get to carry the progress over to the next map! I remember spending hours and hours on AoW Shadow Magic with its story campaign.
It is said in the video (1:29) there will be 7 spirits to pair your Primal Culture with, how come there will be seven spirit options, if there is only 6 affinities? What affinity is the crocodile guy?
As Lupetto said, both Spider and Crocodile are double nature affinity. The difference is, while Crocodile starts in and prefers Swamp biome, the Spider starts in and prefers underground. Spider is dedicated for underground playthroughs :)
If you enjoyed the game with what you have so far, I can fully recommend you both DLCs. In my opinon cultures are the biggest additions to the game, as they bring their own units onto the table and their own mechanics. Empire and Ashes are great if you like gunpowder, pirates, and technology (it also adds avian form). Primal Fury will be great if you enjoy prehistoric or tribal estetics and if you like animals, shamanism and little bit of water magic, and it will also come with wolf and goat forms. :)
Once again Triumph, If the online play is as unstable as it has been in the past then this update will not change my opinion of the game. Neither the dragon nor the reaver dlc did anything to address this issue and I have yet to see any signs that you will address it in the future. Love your games but if i can't play it with my friends because of really bad servers/desyncs then this game will not get any more playtime.
