Yep, after being broken into last year, I learned the two most important things in home security. Delay and detect. You're not going to keep them out, but you can slow them down. Cameras and sensors to detect their presence. This gave enough time for me t call cops, get them here, have nothing stolen, and 2 of 3 perpetrators apprehended.

Life goals! If I owned that many guns, I’d lay them out in the table everyday and just look at them.

Adding to your statement towards the end, A safe should never be your first line of defense from theft. Camera system, good locks, alarm system and possibly a dog should always be your first line of defense before the safe. Thanks for the honest review!

FYI, if you want your safe in a reasonable amount of time go to a local dealer. Chances are they have one you want in stock. Unless you want it custom. I actually found one that wasn’t even on their website with a mural of the Iwo Jima monument.They have a huge warehouse to also draw from as well as their display items. Semper Fi! I've had a liberty safe for about 6 years and I love it no issues they must have started making them a little bit cheaper mine doesn't have any issues with the interior or the wood

I just ordered a safe from Costco ($699), delivery included. It’s a medium sized box. After watching this video, I have no idea what to expect.

I had my top shelves bow too, went to Lowe’s and got two pieces of 1/2 x 1/2 aluminum channel and mounted it underneath the shelf. Now have 30 AR mags fully loaded and all my other extended pistol mags stored on it and it’s still straight as an arrow.

That safe is awesome I bought a Harbor Freight safe which I thought was pretty big at the time 🤷‍♂️ At this point I feel that I’ve kind of outgrown the safe. I think a dream scenario would be a small walk in gun room with cool lighting if built right 🙂

A while ago I went to a store where they sell all the top brand gun safes. After looking at them all I came to the conclusion that they all are lacking quality control. And I believe they all use partial board shelves and poorly glued fabric on the interior walls.

I own a Liberty Fatboy Jr. and while I have not had any problems with the shelving like you've had, I would agree having solid wood shelving would be a bonus!. Can't wait for the next update.

I'd prefer a piston locking bar than those flat tabs. Cyliders are much more resistant to force than something flat like that. Also, it's usually not the door where you will have the most security problems when it comes to a safe. That is mostly the sides and how much material they have in them. If it's 13 guage steel, it has almost no real protection. You want at least 10 guage but also even consider getting something reinforced with like quarter inch plate steel.

White Glove delivery: just a fancy sounding term by delivery companies to mean they deliver it to the inside of your house or business and install and set it up for you. Well as much as they can set the safe up for you. But the reason they were more than willing to bolt it to the floor is because that's included in the price of delivery. Otherwise they drop it off in the driveway or garage on your responsible for moving it into your house and bolting it to the floor. That term gets used where I work when we get delivery of large server and storage equipment. I'm not sure price includes delivery. I loooked at safes a little while back at local stores and none of the stores included delivery in the price of the safe.

Was going to ask why so many guns then I remembered this is America and we are protected by 2nd amendment keep the collection going

I got one back in the late 90s believe it was the Washington Series. Mine has a car type carpet in it and have had no problems with it can see some difference between them

Beautiful collection brother! I’ve been considering a classic combination lock for my next safe due to the EMP concern. Most digital safes these days seem to claim they are EMP resistant, but I don’t know how that would be tested. Do you? Pretty scary to think if there is a SHTF situation involving EMP and you can’t get to a single gun…

Particle board has no place in a safe. They should've used plywood for the jewelery box application. Sweet looking safe though. Impressive collection!

All I can say is holly cow man.... I always wondered what your arsenal looked like and for some reason I missed this post... i am not disappointed but very jelly on the other hand .

Love the tour and the honest review. I have the same Liberty and mine has none of those issues, with the exception of the particle board and I couldn't agree more with that disappointment. The safe is amazing besides that. I have to lean towards the opinion of others that they sent you a floor model. Although, I too live in Arizona and my other safe has the headliner issue from the heat of the desert (not a Liberty). Really appreciate the channel and always look forward to your videos!!!

Wow. I’d be very upset with those issues at that price. I have the Browning Prosteel. I think it’s a 44 rifle safe. Bout the same width as yours but not quite as tall. It’s not quite as decked out as yours either, but I’ve had zero QC issues. The wall and ceiling liners are a very soft felt like material and it’s tight everywhere. Very nice safe. Think I paid $1800 and $500 to have it delivered 40 miles to my rural house. The problem that I do have is that I’m quickly getting to the point I need a second one. You know how that goes. Great video. Awesome of you to tell the truth even though the safe was “given” to you.

I have a 30 gun Winchester safe came with a dent in the top boy very big but I saw it 😂 I called them they gave me two choices 200$ back or a new one I took the 200 dollars since I loaded and unloaded myself and a family member didn’t want to go through that again ( weighs like 800lbs ) other than that no issues whatsoever. And very quick to rectify the situation.

All safes seem to use partial board. I use to have a liberty i sold it and got a larger safe from a different brand. 1st think i did was strip the interior, cut new shelves from plywood and put all new better fabric inside. Also look into rifle rods. No more guns falling over and you don't have to remove everything to get to the back. Way better set up and you can fit more rifles in the same space.

The slip clutch on the handle and the re-locker feature for punch protection are fantastic features on Liberty safes as well. You will have a hard time getting through the front of that thing! The weak points are the sides and the top (the bottom will be protected once it's bolted down). Liberty safes are 1 piece rolled making the sides/top much stronger than something welded together. Bolting it in the corner of a room so that the door swings open towards the center of that room also prevents pry bars from being used as it would hit the wall before any levarage is gained (that also protects a side of the safe meaning the only "weak" points left are the top and remaining side). I agree with you, the fact they are using loose particle board in a safe that costs 4 grand is the real issue there.

I recently got the Liberty Safe USA Series. Love the safe, only negative ... when I was taking my AR out it snagged against the stitched leather strip and pulled away from the partical board by the iron sights. It didn't tear it of but now I'm aware when I'm taking my AR or other rifles with iron sights.

Dude, thanks for the gun show🇺🇸😎. Not bad for 4K, but I would not be happy with particle board🤬. Safes need to be heavy duty, your putting heavy things on there that should last forever. No reason not to use stainless steel it at least a high quality wood that’s been treated. Appreciate the honest review, glad you got a free safe😬.

I'd be pretty pissed to spend $4k on a safe that had particle board shelves period. I thought Libertys were supposed to be top tier safes.

I bought a liberty safe and the combination they had written in the book was wrong. I called liberty and they were going to send out a lock smith. I didn’t want to wait. Luckily the safe was already open so I took the back door off and fixed it my self by simply turning the knob until I saw which number unlocked it.

When a particle board bends on its own it is usually a moisture problem. The board gets wet and swells or bends. I suspect this is a damp warehouse problem. U can't repair this board when it is already swell or bended.

Thanks for the "heads up" on the Liberty Gun Safe. I'm looking to buy another gun safe and was interested in the Liberty. Now I'm not sure based on your observation. Prices have been pushed sky high with the government demanding that firearms be stored in a gun safe so it's only understandable that manufactures are using cheaper materials to use on their safes so they make a profit. After watching videos on RU-vid I would recommend a S&G manual combination lock for all safes. This is a great video.......Thanks

I have an old York safe that I had to hire riggers to ship to me and put in my house . It was my grandfather's from around WW11. I still haven't seen anything that compares to it .

I bought a Winchester safe with a digital lock. It came with no lighting so I went to "super bright led's" I have enough light to land a chopper at night. As far as the bending of the top shelf? Mine did that as well but I have about 50 loaded mags on it. The fix was getting 1/2 X 1/2 angle iron and running 2 pieces from side to side on top of the shelf brackets. Fix was been perfect! I hope this helps ! you give a lot of good advice I hope you take mine and put it to good use.

Have a Liberty Safe as well. The battery for the key pad drained and wouldn't lock till it was replaced. Great feature to have in case of an EMP scenario but could be a bad thing when not around.

I have about 200 pounds of ammo on my top shelf and it doesn't bow mine is not a liberty, I need to get some of those pistol shelve hangers that would free up alot of space, I think my safe is a little bigger but I think I need to get a other so I can get all my ammo out . You have about as many ar pistols than I have full size ar's . Looks well organized. The lock bars are really stepping it up .the only thing I hate about buying safes is I always think man I could of bought a Ed Brown or a scar or something.

I do like the lighter colored upholstery compared to most safes being black or dark gray.... easier to see what's inside!!

I have two Liberty Colonial 50s. Both top shelves are bent like your top shelf. It probably would have never happened if I didn’t stack 300 lbs of loaded magazines on top of them.

I’ve owned 2 liberty safes. I’d give both a grade of C-. My 2 current safes are Browning’s. I’d grade both of them B+. For the same size safes, both Liberty and Browning’s are priced almost identical.

Gotta respect the honesty.

A sheet of cabinet grade birch plywood is like 55 bucks compared to particle board at 35 bucks. Its a difference of $20 to get a longer lasting quality finish

I have a Liberty Colonial D-23 and the particle board shelving is just about useless. I pulled all of it out and replaced it with a SecureIt brand steel 6 gun retrofit kit on the back wall and Im in the process of making a single top shelf from 80/20 frame extrusion. But yeah, the OEM shelving is junk. You can call Liberty for a replacement shelf but they'll just send you another particle board unit. There are better options out there.

They cheaped out on the interior :) Aad. I'd build or convert a small room into a gun room. Using a "hidden door" . Or do a combination of a hidden door with a "safe door" behind it. Theives can't steal what they can't see.

Thanks for a great video....saves me money and disappointment from buying a Liberty. Good thing there are a lot of other great safe makers on the market.

Hey Brother! Hope all is well. Couple things, I run Liberty Safe of Knoxville Store, and if they sent you a display version the QC on those do have some issues. Ive had a couple show up that the jewelry drawer did the exact same thing. Also whoever told you about the lock is wrong. There is no hardwire power going to any of the digital locks. They are battery operated 100% of the time. Definetly EMP proof, and external battery door like a smoke detector. But info is store in the back of the lock. So if you lock fails all you have to do is replace the front face of the lock and use old code to get in. Pretty cool. Hate to see the issues you're having. But hope to see ya and shoot some more with ya in the near future. Take care man!
