Crater Lake, is right in the middle of Crater Lake National Park, in Oregon, USA. What I expected to be "just another lake" turned out to be the most blue body of water I have ever seen. It was mesmerizing and incredible, and if you're ever in Oregon, it's worth a trip to go see Crater Lake.

This is in my home state. Haven't been to this natural wonder in decades. It's definitely worth stopping in on a road trip, though not exactly what I'd call an "ultimate destination." :-) I love mountains. Could not live without hilly terrain and lots of forest land.

The Lodge at Crater Lake was recently refurbished and re-opened after many years of neglect. It's pricey but, very nice.

If you ever get the chance to go again, head toward the Inn overlooking the lake and there are hiking trails that lead you about the sides of the mountains that bring you to some spectacular views.

LOL you were more excited about the bar than the lake. Can't say that I blame you.

that's the same hotel i stayed in when I took a road trip around Oregon and the redwoods. crescent city is..... a place. my buddy and I were playing slugbug but for crackheads when we drove around town. it's a little scary in some places. but its very close to the redwoods so... worth it.

It has no sediment. Only rain water and snow haved filled up the lake. Deepest in the States. No run offs from other streams or rivers. You can drink that water!!

I drove within a quarter mile of Crater Lake in September 1986 and didn’t get to see it - the end of the road was impassable due to a snowstorm. Unfortunately I’ve never gotten to go back.

Hi Mike! Great video. I'm writing about the time I was driving south on 97 from Kelowna to Tahoe and couldn't ignore the National Park sign I wasn't expecting. I got so excited running around taking pictures that I made myself altitude sick. Totally worth it!

@@DownieLive They did! The crazy thing is I hadn't done anything with them until now. I guess it takes a lockdown. A few of them are here with the story if you're interested lauratucker.com/dancing-with-crater-lake/

I much prefer the Oregon Coast. Crater lake is just a bit barren .. then there's a big blue hole in the ground. ..my husband loves Crater Lake. I actually prefer some other lakes I've seen. But to each their own.

I just found you about a month ago. I live in Crescent City and would have been happy to tell you about all the cool things here. Also, would have told you a much better place to stay and sent you to a great restaurant. Come back someday, there is so much to see!

At the deepest point at 1948 feet, if you sink the CN tower it would cover it with 150 feet to spare.

This video doesn't really show just how blue the water is. Check out these photos for what the water actually looks like. No digital editing, this is what it really looks like: www.flickr.com/photos/prajnadhyana/14376523121/in/dateposted-public/lightbox/

Ya think? Crater Lake is by far the coolest thing in Oregon. Unless you're an Antifa punk, then you'll love the homeless camps and slums of Portland. ;)
