A lot of times Dudley they act like that because they are envious and jealous, you intimidate them, Vegas have a lot of low lives out here so when you a black dude and you not a low life they get intimidated, you don't appear as a low life that's the reason why you have problems, it just shows you how they expect the worst from dark skin black men, some of them out here in Vegas well even want to fight you for no reason is because jealousy and envy these people are very insecure out here in Vegas
Check out jacob life in vegas ..he breaks down everything possible about vegas hes ber there for years and didcates hisbpage to it ...pretty cool white dude
Thank you for keeping it real, I once heard it was hard to find a Job, in Vegas. So I will take your word for it. But I am so ready to leave country A.. Ga!!
It's great to view a black mans perspective about moving/living in Las Vegas. I'm in Seattle, WA and waiting for the lease on my hair salon to end next year so I can relocate.
Why are you moving from Seattle? I'm a black female and I'm thinking about moving to Seattle. I work from home. I would love to get your take on Seattle.
I am excited at the sight of a black man giving his perspective about living in Las Vegas. This summer, I am relocating to Las Vegas with my sons. Thank you for uploading your informative video.
My girlfriend is from Vegas. One thing I did notice when I visit there is that the people are nice but they tend to be less friendly to strangers. I was used to being open and friendly to the waiters and waitresses in restaurants and I noticed my girlfriend was not comfortable speaking to them. I asked her why, and she said its just that she didn't like being too personable with strangers. I can understand being careful, but if you are not spreading kindness and treating others as being welcome, then I feel it just adds to bad vibes and tension in society.
Black male from Atlanta and recently moved here a month ago now… this video is spot on, me personally I got a job pretty quick due to me working in Automotive. But for my wife it’s tough, racism is more secretive than in the south so that’s a new thing, but overall good city. Still learning so we’ll see how this ages.
Most of the money here in Vegas is in the Casinos, Entertainment, Security, Law Enforcement and Medical any thing else is a waste of time. It's not that there's no jobs is just that the competition is high. When comes to entertainment don't be surprised if you're competing with people out of Hollywood, so polish that resume an act like you already work there.
Hey bro I move around a lot. I’m originally from St. Louis, went to college in New Orleans, and currently live in Philadelphia. Look to move to Vegas next spring March time. It’s great to see another bother on these threads giving these experiences, overall. Do you like it out there ? I know that’s subjective but for the average black male in today’s world do you think the city offers a nice vibe? I have my degree in communications and thinking of going to grad school at UNLV next fall.
I moved to Vegas from New Jersey and the racism is real . It’s 10x strange to receive it from Hispanic ppl out here ... being that they are also minorities. Also I think the job market is TERRIBLE you really have to finesse. It’s all about who you know here experience means nothing. A college degree means nothing. Been here for 2 years. Hate it wanna relocate ASAP
I really appreciate your take on it. As a Hispanic male, I wondered how it would be there; and that sucks to hear about how hard it might be to find / keep good work. Happy you found something man, keep up the videos and be good ✌ Thanks again for the perspective!
Thank you for your honest feedback! I appreciate your video. Ive had 2 experiences like the one you described at Sprouts (for me the cashier refused to ring me up for being Mexican) and I cant tell you how ultra sensitive I am to people being mistreated. I work in Human Resources and wish to God I worked in HR at Sprouts so I can fire both the manager and the security guard for their actions!! Id be all over this!!! Great video. Thanks again!
Omg spot on! Glad I found this video!! I'm in NY & want to move to FL, but Covid cases keep rising. Love Vegas when visiting, but the people are as you said, still trying to figure them out. I had a discriminatory encounter at hotel restaurant. In Orlando, the people were so friendly.
Thank you for sharing your honest experiences in moving to and living in Vegas. Can you please give an update since it's been 2 years and post pandemic? I hope you are and have been doing well, bro.
I've been living in Las Vegas for almost 10 years now. I'm originally from California but I'm really starting to consider las vegas my hometown. I went to middle school and high school out here now attending Community College. Vegas does have its issues. crazy drivers, drunk people, construction on roads that seem like their everywhere. As a black man I have encountered racism a couple times but in most areas there isn't really any. Vegas seems to be getting more diverse but slowly especially In the Summerlin area.
As a Mexican American who grew up in Vegas, there is a lot of racial tension here for some reason. And it is between all races and not just white and black. When i go to a black, Asian, or white neighborhood , I dont feel safe.
Bro, thank you so much for this video. It means a lot to hear your perspective as a black man. Hope these past few months have been alright. Stay blessed!
Thank you for this! I’m a social worker from Brooklyn, NY and want to move to Vegas. A job is the most sketchy thing about Vegas that holds me back. There is so much opportunity here in NYC for social work because it’s an inner city. But Vegas doesn’t seem to have a need for child welfare. If anyone has any insight, let me know!
Hey sis! I’m in the MSW program right now & when you find out anything, please @ me. I’m considering moving as well but if I can’t find a job, it’s a no go for me
I want to live on the Las Vegas strip in a highrise condo when I retire. I looked on Zillow and found a bunch of highrise condos on the strip going for between $200,000 and $300,000. I'm just a custodian working in a public school on longisland NY. Being that I'm buying $600 of stocks in the stock market every month I should be able to buy a highrise condo on the Las Vegas strip for all cash when I retire.
St. Louis native here ! I’m thinking about moving to Vegas too. I need to get out my comfort zone. I’ve lived in Atlanta for four years before but I think I need a new vibe. I can definitely relate to the the south hospitality as well as the “stay out the way so I won’t get hurt” mentality of our hometowns
I am so glad that I found your channel. I am moving to Vegas in June 2021. I am transitioning to plant based and I need to tone up. I will definitely look you up when I arrive!!
The weather in Vegas is dismal .....EXTREMELY HOT !! during the day and cold at night. The extreme heat during the day makes Vegas literally a living hell
Kind soul... 😌 I grew up in a culture where I litterally cannot understand racism. What's wrong with people?! ...and it saddens me so much when I even try to imagine what you are going through...
@@Proof77777 I am from Republic of Moldova. In Eastern Europe is different... We did not enslave people of colour. We were the ones who were opressed by Ottoman and Russian empires, then by the communism. 😁 That's why.
I just came from there yesterday and I loved it and I’m also plant based! I’m single no kids I’m tired of Michigan! Ready for a change thanks for the upload 😊
I just to moved to Vegas from Cali ! Love it so far , you need a career out here like Class A Driver , found a job in a week been there 3 months already , it’s hard to find something if your just looking for any ol job that’s true , love it so far
Hello :)- Thank you for putting out a very informational video as I have been a resident of Las Vegas for over 10 years and I am sorry that you have had some bad experiences as I do not really hear about these kinds of incidences. I hope that your opinions will change in your favor. Kudos to you for your efforts to your channel.
100% the WORST in job search. I am bilingual English/Spanish with a BA and also worked as a casino auditor for three years in San Diego and couldn't find a job for months when I first moved to Vegas and when I finally got job offers they were both part time. One part time for front desk at the hard Rock and another part time customer service calls for the cosmo and I denied both of them because I ended up moving to Boston, got a job on the spot for a major hotel when I flew in for the interview, I was fortunate for that but Vegas is NO JOKE when it comes to job searching. Been in Boston almost 4 years now but moving back to the west coast again ✌🏼 thinking of buying a home in Henderson one day cause SD is WAY too expensive. 😄
Thank you brother for this video please keep it up! I'm looking to move out to Vegas next year hopefully we can get to know each other you seem like such a genuine person to be friends with! Stay safe
Good video homie were moving to vegas at the end of this year we need all the advice we can get thanks main and sorry to hear a6out them raicest haterz keep doin ur thang 6ro much respect
Why did you move from Florida bro ? Why Vegas ? I was in Vegas last year and I could tell right away that Las Vegas is mostly a service , sales type of city. Not a banking business type of city like Newyork or Miami or San Francisco. Is a hospitality. City like Miami used to be but south Florida has a lot banking big jobs that have moved from nyc. Stay save and be blessed
Thank you for this video 🙌🏾😌 I’m from Detroit, currently In AZ and I’ve been STUCK on where I want to move next and Vegas has definitely been on my mind.
Hello, so a update lol I will not be moving to Vegas (at least not right now) I’ve considered staying and just moving to a new city. I current live in TUCSON, AZ in the process of moving to the Phoenix area now (Tempe). And yes, the housing is definitely cheap.
Shawny Love everyone keep telling me that lol that’s why I’m staying longer lol but MI is horrible smh I love my city (Detroit) but the crime rate makes me sick to my stomach.
@@lifewithvealela since you've been living in Tucson, how would you compare it to Phoenix? That's if you've made multiple trips to Phoenix to hangout. I'm from Arkansas and always wanted to check out Arizona but couldn't decide between Tucsin or Phoenix. I currently live in Memphis and I'm sick of the south. I'm a truck driver but my goal is to transfer back into the Heating & Air conditioning field.
Shawny Love Michigan isn’t really that bad. Yes inner city Detroit has its problems but what inner city doesn’t? I’m not sure how long she’s been away from Detroit but Detroit has been hit with gentrification so it’s completely different from 5 years ago and metro Detroit (royal oaks Troy etc) are beautiful.
I love this review, ty for sharing! It can be hard to find honest reviews because so many review videos are made from real estate agents and stuff like that. I liked hearing an opinion from just a normal person.
Expensive is relative. Not thinking of moving but The scenery and healthy way would be why I would move to the west coast. The north is to fast and hard for me. Thanks for the update.👍🏿
Gotta understand you shouldn’t expect white ppl to treat you like they treat there own people 🤷🏽♂️ we gotta treat they kind the same way they treat us
Thank you for the "insightful video". As a resident of Vegas for over 10 years, obviously I have seen enough to tell a lot of stories but I am always interested in the perspective of folks that have just moved to Vegas. Kudos and good luck to you and your endeavors!!!
I am from New York and is living in California now. I am thinking about moving to Henderson because I do not like living in California. Did you have a hard time finding an apartment? Also, I would not get upset with people leaving negative comments. Stay positive
We pay people well in Canada no lie. I’m in Calgary, Alberta I want to live in Vegas cause I lived there for a year and man did I love it! It’s way cheaper and the weather is nicer but other than that I’m supposed that Edmonton and Calgary is a bigger city.
Nice video. I am a physical therapist living in Las Vegas and I have to say that you are very uninformed about how much money we make. New grads don't even make $13 an hour. Perhaps you should do more research on other fields before you quote what salaries are. Other than that, good luck with your business and your stay.
Just moved out of Vegas about a month ago, but I think I ran into you at my job at one point. Small world. Great video and good luck growing your business!
Also, on another note, it’s all about who you know in Vegas. To get a pretty good job you usually need to know someone who can get your foot in the door.
I'm originally from NYC...moved to Cali and looked for a cheaper place in Vegas. My Vegas rent was 2k, Way cheaper than Cali. I am a black female and I noticed the black people in Vegas actually hate each other. They don't hesitate to flash their guns at you. I had a gun pulled on me at the ATM at 3:00 in the afternoon. The food in the supermarkets is the worst food you ever ate. Everybody that I talked to was trying to get out of there. The utilities are much more expensive than Cali. The heat is unbearable from June until October. It's 115 degrees every day and 100 at night. I was sick the entire time I was there. If it wasn't the food...it was the heat. I kissed the ground when I crossed the state line back into Cali. I've been back in Cali 2 months now and vow to never leave. This was the worst experience in Vegas and the most expensive costling thousands to move back and forth. I met people who were sorry they sold their homes to move there and now they just wanted to go back home. There are a lot of bad spirits there. You can feel them. It's actually quite scary.
Honey, when it comes to black ppl hating other blacks, Chicago and Detroit takes that crown. If you think blacks hate eachother in Vegas, then you clearly haven't lived in the Midwest before.
Thanks for the share. My professional endeavors will soon have me in Sparks Nevada near Reno no Blks. ughh... 6 hrs from Las Vegas. I am going but reluctant... if I don't like I will slide over to CA. EAST/mid EAST I am but we gon try summfin new
Thats the problem with places that have great weather they don’t want to pay at jobs. I left tx bc the jobs sucked and they didnt want to pay well. Came back to nyc.
The job pay out here is a disappointment. The only jobs you’ll be lucky to get that pays a “livable” wage is $18 but that’s if you’re willing to give up a lot of things you’re passionate for. Right now, I am blessed to just have a job that pays $18 but it isn’t even full time. I do freelance videography on the side so it weights it out.
Just know that now more than ever people know about racism and we stand by your side. Racism needs to be exterminated like the repulsive thing it is. Thanks for sharing
Genuine question... What exactly were you searching for as far as jobs go? If you’re in the fitness industry and own your own business, what was the industry you were applying for??
I'm an immigrant and l still wonder how so many americans who want to live and work in touristic areas are shocked when they find out that those areas have horrible job market?it's like that everywhere around the world. I would never relocate to a place like florida or Nevada unless my employer was transfering me there. Those states are ideal for people in military, aviation, hospitality, healthcare or IT. Before you relocate to a place, please reconsider the job market.l have one rule l live by,l will never relocate to another state unless if l lost my job l would still be able to secure another job that would afford me the lifestyle that l currently have or better. Relocate to DMV,Texas, Georgia, Iowa etc
Bro I thank you for this one! Soon as I saw a black face I was like bet. I’m from Washington DC and currently live in the Bay Area for a year and 1/2, I’m on the same vibe with you! My spot here like 3k and I was goin fool with Vegas for a year or so just to work more on my entrepreneurial stuff. Funny thing is I was choosing between LA and Vegas and just can’t decide and I wanna do this next month. Racism yea we use to that so it is what it is I’m 6’10 played pro ball and still get random looks that could go either way lol I wish I could get more info like what area you in I’m deciding between Summerlin or downtown.
Im looking at moving there myself. Im an entrepreneur myself as i write books, have a podcast and invest in stocks. I too have an Llc. Glad to hear your perspective
@@DavidWilliams-qm9qt to be honest I've meet a few successful writers. They all say online sales top all but yes lil book stores are everywhere. I'd suggest getting it in a Barnes and Nobles and places like that. Then here in vegas link with a casino and do a signing on the release date.
Thank you for this video from another black young black man. My girl and I are thinking about moving there from TX. So I am doing a lot of research on the city and jobs. So thanks I needed this video.
your girlfriend said "dont address the store clerk because you might get shot"? wtf. they shoot people over getting mad and asking a simple question? on a side note you look like kevin durant
im from oklahoma buh i lived in vegas for alomost 2 yrs working in the link at a pizza restraunt and taco bell across from the bloulvard mall.. i lived onn desert inn. i loved it.. buh it really was hard to get a job.. now im back in oklahoma and i have a great job buh damn its so boring..
A security guard is a wannabe cop. Think of the most messed up cop you can. This guy couldn't make it to that level. He's not to be taken seriously at all. He's a professional caller of the police. There are very professional security people well worth their salt. None of them work at the grocery store. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
I’m 29 and just moved to GA (Metro) ATL I love it so much more in GA! Just my opinion... You being a trainer is going to be good for you, you having clothing line and being in Vegas is great as far as, getting products made, and having amazing embroidery and silkscreening companies! A great place to have have your merchandise created... but a horrible place to push a brand possibly depending on what you’re trying and want to do. Vegas is not very supportive as far as, music, fashion, business, ect... the education system is horrible, it sucks if you want to ever be married someday because people are from everywhere, it’s hard to really have any true relatable culture, understanding, business agreements, or communication in general... The major tourism can be phenomenal and be a major asset towards running a business! At the same time I’d say for a person with an already established one though. There’s so many pros about Vegas but major cons... pretty much Vegas is amazing if completely settled in every way. Meaning Relationship, career, business, family, children who aren’t young or no children and having a already settled life goal and plan. If not... Vegas is a very depressing and difficult city to live in honestly. I lived their for 26 years and I’m now 29 years old. Just my personal opinion and advice. I know Vegas extremely well and have been and lived in almost every area!! (Just advice) Vegas can definitely be amazing! It’s just so different then any other city! Hope this can possibly help anyone considering moving there. It’s both good and bad! #(702)👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤️
I'm in Atlanta now and moving to Vegas next month. I moved here from Florida 3 years ago and it absolutely sucks. Traffic is horrible, crime is very high, and there really isn't any culture beyond the city limits. Customer service here is terrible and nobody is even from here, it's 75% New Yorkers and Chicago etc. Weed is illegal and not gonna be legal anytime soon. I'm done with this place. I can't wait to move to Vegas and be 15min from the stip in my suburban style house with a pool and go to the dispensary up the street. You can't get that in ATL... you're driving a hour plus...good luck in ATL lol
THIS MAN IS NOT LYING ABOUT A THING. I am here currently.. 😡😡😡😡😡 .. the BLACK EXPERIENCE IS TERRIBLE and people are WEIRD ALMOST zombie like..as far as the scenery I always say that about the mountains I feel like I’m living in a post card…. I love the DRY HEAT as well.
I had a run in w someone to on friemont. He was yelling racial slurs at two black men by the casino slots. I'm not for any of it. I snapped n stuck up for them! I have no desire to come back!! The drugs n homeless is Terrible there!!
I’m in school for dental hygiene; I’m considering leaving Chicago when I graduate. Since I’ll have a degree would it be easier for me to access employment?
I 💜 Vegas 💋💞 I from the Westcoast Cali 💞 I want to move back to Vegas💋 to start My Own Business. Cali has become way too Expensive! I 💜 your Channel!♡♡♡ Thank you for your Great Advice! I didn't know getting job out there was Bad like that😯 Damn!!!!!
Great video. Straight talk !! Sadly Las Vegas doesn't have much to offer if not related to Casino. My friemd was a dental hygienist in Los Angeles moved to Las Vegas and 6 months into nothing. Now she working as a Security guard just to get some income. 😏😏
