Roshaante Andersen was born intersex.
Intersex is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male.
Roshaante was born with a vagina and internal testicles. He did not find out he was intersex until he was 11 years old.
In this interview he takes us through growing up as intersex, why he chose to live as a man, and what sex feels like with both genders.

I agree all the way. The LGBT community doesn't get that people in general jus don't understand. Doesn't excuse their behavior but in the same breath I really feel if ur different in a kind of way that strangers are going to bother u about it, then u should have something quick lined up to say. Stick and move. I am extremely heavy chested and have been that way since the age of 12. I had to learn how to stick and move. No woman in my family could explain to me where these things came from, I went through lonely nights but when it came to strangers... This can be 100% taken from his experience just by listening to his story. He lived the first part of his life as a female in which NO ONE saw him as a female and questioned it all the time. I appreciate how supportive his parents were and especially is his mother. They had him in therapy early on and supported his identity and choices along the way. Their unconditional love is what anchored his confidence. I love that for him. I love that he got to find himself.

So straightforward and honest, if anyone asks about your sexuality just say intersex, no more it is up to them to be bothered to find out and understand ,you have helped a lot of intersex people putting this out it is appreciated.

This was AMAZING! I think there needs to be a whole lot more discussion on this topic because not many intersexed persons are comfortable with themselves as this 'man' is. Not only is he someone who is at ease with himself but CONFIDENT as well, quite a wonderful human being.

Mad respect for the courage and unabashed self-acceptance of this man. He doesn't mess around with the terminology, he doesn't shy away - he is direct and authentic and unapologetic. Being authentic with yourself and others takes a special kind of courage when you don't fit into the classic idea of "normal". What a great episode.
