We take a 410rwhp (rear wheel horse power) Fox Saleen Mustang for a drive. This particular Saleen was brought to us to get the final details together so that the owner could enjoy it. There were many things we had to fix and replace to get the car sorted out.
The car is a blast to drive and enjoy now. We do have some final details to get done before returning it to the owner. This is the last time this car will be featured on the RU-vid channel. You'll see snippets of its final condition on our other social media channels. Check us out on Facebook and Instagram under Purist Motorsports.
We put 1993 Saleen #33 on the rollers. The car has a .030 over 302 (306 cubic inches) with forged internals, a pair of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, a mild Comp Cams grind camshaft, and a Vortech Supercharger putting out 8.5 lbs of boost through a Saleen intake. How much power does that combo make with old school FMU and fuel pressure management?
1993 Saleen #33 has a unique story. This car rose from the ashes thanks to the help of Jamie Hammonds in helping us rescue it. We purchased this car many years ago when the owner passed and the family had to liquidate his cars.
The short story is that the car was driven in the Boston area most of its life and somehow made it down south only to be parked outside for a decade or more. The current owner went to great lengths to make the car look factory. The details are stunning. It also has a bunch of very valuable period correct Saleen Foxbody parts.
Stay tuned to the channel as we bring you more progress on this car as we put the finishing touches on it for the current owner.
