What I often find all over the world, but especially in these conversations regarding Asian culture, "Black people" are often painted with a broad brush. My family is Caribbean, and we don't precisely fit in with African Americans. Depending on how you're brought up, you could be more bold or more reserved. All of this is to say it's very interesting to see how sometimes Japanese men may be intimidated by Black women when, in my experience, the ordinary Black woman isn't that outlandish or sexually aggressive. There is so much range in personality. Of course, this happens all over the world, so it's nothing new.

You're describing the exported "image" of blacks via media and colonialism. So regardless of what country the black person is from, the other groups have received about blacks. The diversity you speak of also exist in American black women. But the reality is if you are a Westerner (regardless of race), the perception is we are more aggressive -- fair or not. It's just a reality we need to be aware of and navigate when engaging with others.
All African American women don’t fit that stereotype either. We are very diverse. The image western media disseminates to the world is a minority of black American women…we are not a monolith despite being raised in the same country. Black Americans are diverse because 🇺🇸 has different cultures in different regions and different states.
@@Tee-kc3pn most of us weren’t raised like that. What you see in the media (news, movies, etc) is “inner city poverty life”. Only 25% of Black Americans live in poverty and we all don’t live in inner city ghettos

According to my JP bf & I; 1. Japanese preferred nationalities. As he mentioned, white nationalities; europeans, white skin, big blue eyes are "exotic" and rare to them, but this is more fetishized and many guys who go for girls like this aren't looking for long term partners (of course not all guys are like this tho). But otherwise most go for other asian nationalities where the cultures and beauty standards are more similar (ie east Asia, SE Asia). 2. Opinions of interracial couples. Yes, there are language barriers, but it's part of the beauty of it! We speak in both Japanese and English. We used to speak exclusively in Japanese, but now that he is more comfortable speaking English we speak both (and his English is better than my Japanese now haha). My bf does tend to say "I love you/aishteru" though so I guess it's a younger generation thing(?). Or just a him thing. He's kind of a weird guy, and def not the typical Japanese. Personally I think these kind of relationships work best when the foreign counterpart understands/respects Japanese (knowing the language helps too), and when the Japanese counterpart is very open-minded. Especially because Japan has such heavily rooted culture it's really nice when they're open-minded about things like marriage, work, kids, other expectations, etc. 3. Challenges. Culture differences as mentioned above. Language barriers. 4. It's funny, I think the best thing is also the culture differences and language barriers. Just being able to embrace each other's cultures and trying our best to communicate in each other's languages is really nice. The rest I'm going to take a pass on HAHAHAH 💀💀💀💀

I applaud you to keep your ethnic beauty despite the seeming pressure of society to blend in. When I first came here, I arrived with my hair pressed by a professional back in US, but upon arriving at the airport it fluffed up! I tried straightening it again the next week but it fluffed to Afro three days later. It’s hard to keep straight hair in Japan in the summer. My self esteem feels low when I look in the mirror sometimes, but I should believe in this country of millions there should be some cute Japanese guys that would like to date a shy brown/black girl.
White women have been pushed down the neck of Japanese culture after the War, remember the USA brainwashed the Japanese. However the Japanese will not admit it. I met Japanese people that were direct and very forward. Maybe it is the generation that is different.

black men are a stereotype just like anyone else stereotype lol there a lot of small black men as well as there is big to any other race and there are different sizes with Asians big, small etc. I wish this be explained more that it's not a race thing it is a person thing your born with what your born with.
