@@suestephan3255, and you can prove that, how, exactly? Prove that Betty White went to Hell, how? I am an agnostic and I cannot disprove that or prove it. And, if its faith-based proof, where is your proof that faith is more important as a proving tool, than concrete evidence is? Let's see it. @@robertsprouse9282 woah I said you can’t be sure. As an agnostic you doubt the Bible but those who believe what God says know what He says. And, you need to learn that agnostics question yes or no, any religion= belief in a God/god(s). You just seem to say WELL, THE CHRISTIAN GOD AND THE BIBLE are the ONLY ONES that you are questioning because THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES ATTACHED TO A GOD(S).. Yeah, what proof do you have? I think you like categorizing people and then hiding behind convenient institutions so you can feel better about yourself, although you say you're a sinner but you're a redeeeeeemed sinner lol, by putting other people in a box and putting them down not with your ego BUT GAWD ALMIGHTY, JEEEESUS- although, its your ego doing it- but hiding behind a God delivering your desired putdown IS SO MUCH SNEAKIER. @@markie909 My TV aerial antenna got destroyed by wind over 5 years ago, and I realized there was nothing on TV that I missed, so I never replaced it. I live off-grid on a mountain, so no cable available. I've never seen any of those shows because I only watched PBS and reruns of "Star Trek" and Westerns anyway. RU-vid is WAY better, because I can watch really wonderful shows like this one, any time I want! My Mom loved this show, but I didn't watch it when I was a kid because it would have been "boring" to small children. The other night I was watching WML? and Arlene wore a dress that was IDENTICAL to my Mom's "little black dress" with rhinestones and a silk chiffon cape that I loved so much as a child that I still have it! I know she bought it at Neiman Marcus, I still remember going shopping there with her and she dressed to the nines; hat, gloves, silk stockings, and Estee Lauder perfume. There was a salon where models would show the new dresses to customers as they sat and sipped coffee. I was a quiet child, so I was allowed to be there and it's such a fun memory! I got to dress up too, though I hated the white gloves. I wish I could tell Mom that she was every bit as elegant and lovely in that dress as Arlene was. Mom would be 100 this year if she was still with us.

No. They were OF their time. Likely born in the 20s, came of age during the want of the dirty 30s (when most had to roll up their sleeves and do any job that they could find just to eat) and then likely worked at traditionally male-dominated jobs during WW2. The 50s were full of these fabulous, smart and self-sufficient ladies but today, we constantly have Marilyn Monroe shoved in our faces - we don't see the full picture. Ironically, it was during the 60s that women were depicted as weak and silly (when feminism was making its big comeback), not the 50s. Watch 50s episodes of WML and see how many women judges, ditch diggers, Doctors, electricians, politicians etc they present.

@@rosepearl7092, Bingo!!..They always want to say that women would just let men run all over them back then. That aint the household I grew up in. Both my late stepmom and still alive half sister had big, harpy mouths. My late Grandma, EVA SPROUSE raised me from 2 and a half to 5 and would on foot if she couldn't get a cab, walk three miles into town every day and sometimes back, to work at the bus station in Pittsburg, TX., at first full-time in her 60's, and then part-time all the way up into her 80's so she wouldn't lose her Social Security. She lived to be 95. My biological mother who abandoned me to her friend out in California where I was born in the '50's, was a feisty old person who I did not see from 2.5 to 53 and worked in a casino as a waitress for decades. These so-called feminists post-1970, think they invented the strong, independent woman the female who would not take guff from a man, or anyone. Lol, what a bunch of crap.

The 93-year-old actress told Oprah that if she could do anything differently in life, she would have married her husband Allen Ludden sooner. White said she put Allen off for a year before finally giving in, marrying him in 1963. When Oprah asked White if she had “any big regrets,” White responded: “That I spent a whole year, wasted a whole year, that Allen and I could have had together, saying no, I wouldn’t marry him. No, I won’t. No, I won’t leave California. No, I won’t move to New York. I wasted a whole year we could have had together. But we made it. We finally did.” Oddly enough, Betty White’s biggest regret had nothing to do with her first two failed marriages. She married U.S. Army pilot Dick Barker in 1945 and Hollywood agent Lane Allen in 1947, but White said they were just not right for her. “I had lovely relationships, but not anything in the league of Allen,” she told the Mail Online last year. Betty White met Allen Ludden when she appeared on his game show, and they dated for two years before White finally accepted his proposal. They remained together until Allen’s death in 1981. Betty White would never marry again, saying that no other man could compare to Allen.

When Betty showed up at the pearly gates, Peter was standing there. He asked her "what is the password?". She didn't know. But there was Allen standing behind Peter providing clues. After he said "unending", Betty said "love". Peter said, "congratulations, love is the password". All of a sudden Gene Rayburn showed up and said "what is going on here? we should be matching Peter, not giving passwords".

The last guest, Bobby Moore, was one of the all time greats of English football, probably the best Center Back (defensive) ever to play for the Three Lions as the English team is called. Sadly he passed away in 1993 from cancer. He was just 51 years old.

With Allan Ludden and Betty White, It’s a shame they were only married 18 years until he passed away in 1981. That marriage was his second, her third. Given that she had two marriages before him, it is rather a tribute to him that he died in 1981 and she has not married since. I hope she makes it to at least January 2022 to celebrate her 100 birthday.

A few months after this episode aired, I would begin attending a new school (6th grade). It was where I was introduced to soccer for the first time. Those of us in grades 6-8 attended gym class together. We were divided into 3 teams that would play matches during class (the third team would practice while the other two squared off). The teams were given names of famous teams in different countries. I was arbitrarily assigned to the West Ham team. Bobby Moore's appearance on WML and it being downloaded to RU-vid for all to enjoy brought back a warm memory of something I hadn't thought of for a long time.

Lois, Tom Teriffic passed away today . Roberto Clemente once said that they should insist Tom Seaver Pitch from 2nd base...
@loissimmons6558
@loissimmons6558 3 года назад
@@dcasper8514 I know that we had been talking baseball, but it is interesting that you would bring up Seaver's death in reply to a soccer comment. Here's the connection. Long time NYC sportswriter Dick Young was regularly writing about how greedy Seaver was for wanting more money. Seaver was on the verge of signing a contract extension when an unattributed article (but clearly with Young's style and fingerprints on it) claimed that it was Nancy Seaver who was pushing her husband to push for more money because she was jealous of Ruth Ryan (Nolan's wife) because Nolan making more than Tom. That article got Seaver so disgusted with NY that he pulled back from the new contract and demanded to be traded. Young was a great sportswriter for much of his career, but he grew more and more hypocritical over the years. He claimed to be for the American Way, free enterprise, etc., but somehow didn't think it was the right of players to partake of that same system. He also hated soccer because it wasn't an American game. He would poke fun at soccer's lack of popularity and importance whenever he got the chance. There is a story about Pele being signed by the Cosmos and being introduced during a baseball game in NYC (I am pretty sure it was at Shea) to a thunderous ovation. Young was livid that he was shown up. Regarding Seaver and Clemente, I found an article on Mets blog written 10 years ago on the 38th anniversary of Clemente's death. It mentioned that the Mets and Pirates played a double header with Clemente needing just one more hit to reach 3000. Seaver held him hitless in the opener, pitching a two-hitter against the Pirates. Clemente got #3000, the final hit of his career, in game two against Jon Matlack. (I was a junior at Cornell at the time and I don't recall watching either of those games.) The article also gave Clemente's slash line against Seaver: .242/.277/.355 line in 65 PA. Certainly those are not typical numbers for Clemente, but it was HOF vs HOF so that would be expected. I was listening to both the Yankee and Mets broadcast of the Subway Series game between the two teams this afternoon. The Mets announcers mentioned that Rick Monday had the most homers against Seaver of any player (11). He also hit .349 (30 hits in 86 at bats) against Seaver. Apparently Monday and Seaver were teammates in an Alaskan summer league for collegiate player. They encountered each other for the first time in the majors at the 1968 All Star Game, specifically in the hotel lobby prior to the game. Seaver promised Monday and his mother that if he faced Rick during the game, he would throw him one fast ball down the middle. As it turned out, Monday faced Seaver in the 8th inning with Seaver protecting a 1-0 lead and a runner on second. Seaver broke off a wicked curve ball on the first pitch with Monday expecting a room service fast ball. Monday ended up striking out to end the inning and the NL went on to hold onto that 1-0 lead the rest of the way. Monday left the field after his at bat yelling at Seaver that he lied to his mother. Seaver just laughed in response. And do you remember the rather average player who for some reason hit way above his normal stats against Seaver? I'm thinking of Phillies first baseman Tommy Hutton. Hutton had come out of the Dodger organization, an excellent fielder and average hitter. The Dodgers already had Wes Parker with similar credentials so they traded him to Philadelphia. Against Seaver in 62 PA, Hutton hit .320 with 11 walks and 3 of his 22 career major league home runs (1919 career PA).
