Regarding the free meals, we probably could get some if we wanted to go that route, but we never ask for them or even announce we are coming. We prefer it this way, as we want to make sure we don't receive "special treatment" and are able to share a similar experience to what our viewers are likely to have. We try to focus on the positive, and almost every place we visit has plenty of them, and if they don't we just don't put them in our video!

Because you inspire us so much we tried new places on our coast. First was newly opened Rock and Brew. I ordered the Demon Chicken sandwich which comes with a pretty stern warning. It was hotter than a Florida sidewalk in July. I ate one of the jalapeno chips in front of the waiter and told him I needed it to cool down my mouth. Today we went to the Fat Stork and I had the best shrimp tacos Ive had in my life. I would follow you guys anywhere but hot yoga.

Yeah I (Skylar) never really enjoyed raw fish either until fairly recently. It was a very slowly acquired taste. That said, that vegan roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've ever tried (vegan or not). And yeah, I think you'll love Mutts & Martinis.

Great updates for the area. Although I probably wouldn't be doing the hot yoga, it's a nice free activity. There was so much great food in this episode. That latte was massive, I'd definitely try that biscuit sandwich, and the retro diner seemed awesome as well. Plus drinks with dogs... I better book a ticket to St. Pete's.

I had been contemplating a move to St. Petersburg for a while and six weeks ago I finally pulled the trigger! Your positive and informative videos were an inspiration and very helpful. It's funny watching them as a resident. That Publix you mentioned in the beginning? I WORK there! All the things in Grand Central?. I LIVE there now! We copied your order with the jackfruit sushi rolls and the dumplings. We also split the ramen bowl and the guava "cheesecake"which were also on point. Cool! Yeah, I’m a Tampa Bay Rays(2nd year) baseball fan, so I’ll be going to a couple games this summer, so I’ll definitely check out some of those places from the St. Pete list. That Shrimp 🍤 Po Boy looked amazing. I used to be a Cubs’ Fan from childhood, but it was time to switch to a homestate team from my traditional team after the Cubs core broke up in 2021. The 2016 World Series was a fan dream, so I was able to make the switch. Now hoping the Rays can win one

@@Explorcation I’m on old millennial, so when I became a baseball fan as a little kid, there were no Florida teams. The Braves and Cubs were on all the time, and I was a Cubs fan because of my DAD and the WGN station with Harry Caray and Steve Stone. So, that’s a true statement with the exception of the youngest of generations. Marlins came about in 1993(two titles) and Rays came about in 1998(Two WS appearances)

Woohoo, glad you guys loved House of Vegano! Golden Dinosaurs has a vegan Cuban sandwich that includes jackfruit, and it's only $7 on Thursdays! There's also a new Plant Love Ice Cream location right across the street now. The vegan coconut ice cream is delicious! 🥥

We definitely need to try that sandwich! While the vegan spots here in the downtown St. Pete area have all been good, they have also been a bit pricey... so $7 for a sandwich sounds like a steal! Can't wait to try that ice cream as well.... we've had some really good vegan ice cream (cashew based) in the past, and would love to give coconut ice cream a try.

Your "what's new" series are definitely one of my favs. My husband and i finally made it to AMI (yippeee!!) and have rewatched many of your past episodes of the area to get some ideas. I wish you would make more content, I think the algorithm prefers that too. I think the sub count would start to go up again. Think daily shorts, and minimum once a week a long form video. Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately our video style is pretty time-intensive when it comes to editing, so until Jamie is able to also start working on the channel full time, we'll probably stick to one episode per week. Alternatively we could make more, but much shorter videos, but the RU-vid algorithm seems to like our longer videos more than our shorter ones. Some day we do hope to find more time to make some shorts. I know a lot of creators are getting a lot of views and subs from shorts, although it's hard to make much money on them.

Thanks so much, guys! Visiting St. Pete Beach by boat is a great way to do it. We love the rooftop at Hotel Zamora for drinks and views... we also really like Sea Dogs in Treasure island for food and beers. If you make it a bit further north to Madeira Beach, we really enjoy the Angry Pepper, Harbor Master Tiki Bar, and Crabby's on the Pass. We hope you guys have a great time!

Thanks, Trang. As of now there is still no toll to enter Treasure Island via the Treasure Island Causeway, although there have been rumors that one may be coming for quite a while.

Is it a good time to be out there in first 2 weeks of September? (2 weeks from now) We are planning on staying at the Hilton on the st.pete beach. How is the weather usually around that time? Thanks!!

Hello, Carolyn. The first two weeks of September are the height of hurricane season, and it is also typically still quite hot and humid during that time of year. Typical high temperature will be around 90, with an afternoon thunderstorm on many days. Good news is that the beaches normally aren't too crowded, and the gulf waters are very warm (if you like that).

Awwwwww love the hot yoga review, I teach hot yoga, don't do it if you're not used to it ...espeically in studios that JAM PACKED ...people can be RUDE, yes I teach yoga, so trust me, and they can will drip sweat on you, ewww. LOL thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share your wisdom on hot yoga! Thankfully no one dripped sweat on us.... and hopefully we didn't drip sweat on anyone else! We have not gone back to hot Yoga, but we have both been doing regular yoga. We just moved and plan to start doing yoga outdoors on our patio... which in Florida in the summertime will basically be hot yoga!

Since you are tracking a budget, can a RU-vid channel be considered a business? You might be able to write off mileage and vehicle expenses. Mayrb even meals...that would be awesome.

Great question, and yes, it absolutely can. We do have an LLC and are able to write off many of the expenses associated with making these videos!

I've heard that Saint Pete's has a decent concentration of African-Americans. I don't feel like I saw much diversity in this video at all. Those considerations could increase viewership! Great video!

We're glad you enjoyed the video and really appreciate you taking the time to comment, Justin. When filming these episodes, we always try to focus on the food and drinks (or the product/service being offered)... not so much the people. We actually try to keep people out of our videos as much as possible, although that can be nearly impossible in a crowded place. But you did hear right, St. Pete is a pretty diverse place overall. That said, the diversity doesn't always seem to be well represented in most of these new establishments located downtown. If you know of any new businesses around downtown St. Pete that are a bit more diverse, please do let us know, and we will certainly look into including them in future content.
