You're absoloutely right. See my comment above. They are updating existing Kontakt libraries for no other reason than to remove compatability with older versions of Kontakt and therefore, forcing people to upgrade if they want to keep using their NI Kontakt libraries. Extremely dishonest.
Can't believe they didn't add a resizable UI in rack view. This should be priority number one. At the very least add support for higher resolution screens. Some 3rd party libraries UI's are almost unreadable.
Hey! Currently our Factory Library 2 is resizable, and we'll implement this feature in more products soon. Feel free to read more about that here: bit.ly/3E1sqDZ
@@NativeInstruments That's good. but I don't use the factory library too much. Text is pixelated everywhere, the rack view browser, the libraries UI, even the Kontakt logo and icons on the top menu bar are so grainy on my MacBook. Other VST's I have look so sharp and crisp on my high resolution screen but when I'm putting on Kontakt I'm immediately in a bad mood, squinting and frowning.
@@NativeInstruments It’s almost 2023, all VST instrument GUI’s should be resizable as standard. I want to see my Grandeur or Playbox etc etc nice snd big on my screen. I’m sure you can do it NI 👍🏼👍🏼
this should be available as a free update for all contact 6 users, nothing more then a ui makeover and some new patches for a high upgrade price speaking of UI updates, when if ever we get a well overdue vectorial Ui's for massive, absynth 5 and fm8?
@@schragemusik but then new libraries coming out will only run on Kontakt 7. I guess Kontakt player will come out soon enough for the people hit with inflation.
I've not yet updated to Kontakt 7 as it dropped quite soon after I paid for the Kontakt 6 update which was annoying. I wasn't keen on shelling out another £100 for an update that didn't seem to offer very much. Anyway, I purchased a couple of new Kontakt libraries from Native Instruments over the weekend which ran in Kontakt 6 just fine. Today those libraries updated and in the release notes I find that they have now removed compatability for those libraries with Kontakt 6. I've had them for three days and now I have to pay another £100 if I want to be able to use them properly. Another issue I have with Native Instruments products right now is the fact that Battery and Kontakt interfaces do not scale which makes them very difficult to use on a 4k screen. I've fixed this problem however, by switching to Togu Audio Line's Drum and Sampler, both of which have scalable interfaces and use less CPU and RAM than Battery and Kontakt.
Yes the new browser is beautiful, but why the other parts of the UI are still blurry with low DPI...... The words on it is not only ugly but also hard to read for me
Fabulous! But we need 'Load and Replace"! Adding/stacking instruments with omni or icremental midi channels into the same instance of Kontakt is fine and all, but hardly the most common use case. Am i right ppl? :D
Hi ConfuZen, simply highlight the pin on the right of the searchbar, and make sure that this is the small square that is highlight after the panels icon, and there you have it, you can double-click any sound, it will replace the previous one. Hope that helps.
Can we have a definitive reason as to why the Kontakt VST interface still is not scaleable? The interface doesn't seem to have improved in any meaningful way in many many years. Have you even tried using it in a 2K+ environment?
New libraries like Choir:Omnia and the Factory Library 2 are HiDPI. Converting older libraries to high resolution interface requires a significant amount of resource and we cannot commit to any timeline on this yet.
@@Henry_Crun - Exactly. They always give the same canned answer, they deflect and ignore the criticism of their Win98 VST UI under the hood and pretend we’re asking about individual library skins. edit for sp
@@NativeInstruments - He wasn’t asking about any “Library Interface” and you know it. He’s asking about the actual Kontakt sampler interface. You know, the one that hasn’t been updated like…ever in its near 20 years of existence... 🤧
I have Kontakt 6 full now. So aside from the factory library, adding back third party NKS support (after removing it in 6), and some kind of competing browser that users of Kontakt 6 have now when running Kontakt instruments in Komplete Kontrol - what exactly is new? ARM support? Scalable window? Light guide, arp, chord support for KK S series keyboards maybe? I’m just not seeing why I’d spend $99 to update this to be honest. Great sampler for anyone who doesn’t have it yet, but I can’t see why I’d move from 6 for this.
Hey, Kontakt 7 already offers a native M1 support, and rest assured we're working on scalable window. For a full feature set, feel free to check out our online community here: bit.ly/3ru3GNR
@@NativeInstruments thanks - sorry, I misread the specs on the site where it refers to Rosetta 2. Quick question - did NI and Izotope look and compare accounts to see whether owners of Ultimate and CE already own Ozone with them? Pretty sure most owners of Ultimate and CE already have Ozone 9 Advanced (and RX for that matter), and so 10 standard wouldn’t be that much of a selling point to upgrade. Is any thought being made to make 10 Advanced part of Ultimate and CE and Ozone 10 Standard part of Komplete Standard?
Not interested. A new browser isn't enough to warrant a new version. NI need to stop concentrating so much on the sound libraries and redvelop the whole program from scratch. Users have been requesting a total overhaul since v4. 🤷♂️
@@wavgxwd I don't care about commercial libraries or a fancy browser. Neither add any benefit to my music making as I don't use them. I would just prefer a more modern and user friendly interface and features for the actual Kontakt program.
Please oh please give MIDI drag and drop for the various "guitar player / strummer" library patterns! I really need to be able to fine-tune edit the strum patterns, not just use them out of the box.
I‘m used to Kontakt 6 and before and can‘t tell you how much I hate to use the Kontakt 7 Player User Interface whenever I have to use Libraries that require version 7.
Can someone clarify: So now Kontakt 7 has a searchable database like Komplete? Would it search all (full or free Player) Kontakt libraries or only free player ones?
How hard is it to sort the ui scaling size? Making the browser scalable but not the actual ui of the instrument is why I've never bought Kontakt full. Font size changing is also a must, this is not 2013.
I have been auditioning my sounds already using the komplete kontrol software. All my favorites are stored there, is it possible to migrate those favorites to Kontakt if I decide to go this route?
Almost bit on the Cyber Season sale, but do not want to get burned when the new version of Kontact appears. This previously happened when mistakenly purchasing Studio One 5 right before 6 was announced, with Presonus determining I was not eligible for the upgrade. While Native Instruments and Presonus might make good software, both have very much to learn in how to respectfully treat customers.
can you resize the window? I have a 4k laptop screen and Kontakt 6 comes up super small on my laptop. Do they have the option to expand the size of the plug-in to make it bigger on the screen now?
Still no MPE!! Kontakt is about five years behind UVI Falcon in this area and so many other areas. Yes, they have the critical mass of third-party sample developers, but, other than that, they are inferior in every way to UVI falcon. Their lack of MPE support is especially notable because of the eminent release of new MPE controllers from Expressive E (yes, Osmose is finally coming!) and Roli. lack of MPE support is holding back the entire industry of 3rd party sampled instruments. Consider the potential of orchestral libraries or guitar (e.g. orange tree samples) libraries, played from an Osmose. I think the major sample library providers will start going their own way, like Spitfire has recently done. Sadly, it appears that NI is not even trying to compete. 😢
@@phelper4554 I disagree. I’ve communicated with at least one major Kontakt sample library developer (orange tree samples) and they told me that until NI supports MPE, they can’t do anything to implement it. I see no evidence that Kontakt supports MPE. If you have it, then please provide it. There are some “workarounds“ such as adding multiple instances of a instrument inside Kontakt, each with its own unique midi channel… I tried this and found it completely impractical… Not worth the effort. Ableton and most other DAWs support full MPE… That does not mean that every VST used within the DAW can support MPE.
@@jmcoffin1 To me, it looks like MPE, like MIDI 2.0., is going to take a while to be adopted and widely used. For some reason, most of the big guns are in slow motion, or probably focusing on other stuff, so MPE is somewhere on that list, just not top.
@@phelper4554 I stand corrected! thank you!…based on your info, looks like MPE is supported. I just reached out to orange tree samples to see if they will now add MPE to their libraries.
Hmmm. Komplete Kontrol already has a pretty good browsing experience, including Tags and custom Presets. i think i d be more willing to pay 25$ for a scaleable Komplete Kontrol GUI, then paying 100 for Kontakt.
Too bad that we don't have access to Factory Library 1 from new Kontakt, or Komplete Kontrol. Many orchestral sounds are missing from it. Yes, we got new replacement, but not everything is covered. To be able to use it I need to load Kontakt 6. That's suck to be honest.
Mmh, I’m not sure I understand… Are you saying you don’t see the „old“ Kontakt Factory Library (that comes with Kontakt 6) from within Kontakt 7? Or does it give you some error when trying to load patches from it? Because for me, this just works fine (the factory libraries are both visible / are installed as separate instruments.)
@@OneShortMoment I think he is talking about opening an older DAW session and kontakt 7 not automatically replacing kontakt 6 (even if you have the older factory library installed inside version 7). So, you will still need Kontakt 6 installed to open an older session without problems.
Native instruments, you need to make an oriental bank, just like the korg pa & Yamaha keyboards, Turkish /balkan/oriental/arabic sets. Why? You will open doors to whole new world of customers, and will stop people from wasting 5k on a keyboard just to get access to its sounds from a 250$ usb stick. Until then, you dont deserve to brag about kontakt and how its the number 1 sampler in the world.
@@JoeSteelOfficial no it needs to be a whole separate thing. But simple. Sounds, scales and microtuning easily accessible. Thats it. I have the spot light pack, even though it was only 50$ or what ever i spent on it. Its very disappointing. They spent the whole budget on graphics instead of the instrument its self.
I'm really unsure about the new browser... right now I have everything nicely grouped together which makes it very easy for me to find the instruments I want to work with; the instrument is my starting point and not necessarily a preset or sound. This seems impossible in the new browser; can you still apply manual sequence of instruments?
Does the 55 GB of sound library that ship with it include sax and brass? I do big-band cues and I’ve heard the sounds are fantastic but I can’t get a clear answer on if they are included with the purchase of the program. Thank you
What is different about the same old instruments in Kontakt 7 that were in earlier versions? What is new in the new factory content samples? Are the older effects redone or are they about the same? I see there are new effects.
Native Instruments, Could you please make an update for kontakt factory library 2 (please add palm muted guitar to the band collection) P.s. This library is amazing! Gonna buy it around Nov/Dec of 2022!
I'm having problem, with all the Bass modules when I use the sustain pedal for slides, My DAW crashes, it was fine with Kontakt 5 but all the other latest versions has this problem, Please fix it. thanks.
I'm really confused. Why is it that you have a mixer button and i don't. Also, you have a menu button in the lower left corner that i don't have. I'm stumped.
Meanwhile, it’s been over a year and MacOS 12 is STILL not yet fully supported by existing products. MacOS 13 is around the corner. Please stop making us wait so long for this support. Native Instrument products are now the only reason I still haven’t been able to update. 😢
@@musiccreation1198 That's probably because you're under the impression that this only involves NI but ... fact of the matter is that this goes much wider than just audio alone. Within the (3D) graphics industry you also have several high end environments which still struggle, _heavily_. Some developers are even considering to drop support for Apple entirely, which is a pretty wild decision if you keep Apples origin in mind.
I noticed when loading this new browser in FL Studio the top section of the plugin displays a corrupt image until the plugin loads. Not sure if thats FL Studio or the plugin but thought it was worth mentioning.
Why do you put advertisments into the player and why are you forcing your customers to the new Kontakt version why can't i just work in my preferred Kontakt player ?
Hi Team, just a quick question, I noticed that the vst is called "Kontakt 7.vst", so what if Kontakt 8 or 9 comes out (maybe called 8.vst or 9.vst... ), do I need to keep kontakt 7 ? because my projects are based on "Kontakt 7.vst"
Can you install East west plugins too? In Kontakt 7 ? Now i use 4 players for my VSTs But i want update from Komplete 13 ultimate colors to the 14 ultimate collectors👍 I was happy if i can use only one player!!
I am having an issue all of a sudden opening up kontakt in my daw. Every time I open it back up, it shows all my instruments using kontakt none of them will play without me unloading and loading back in the instrument which means it doesn’t save any of the changes I made on the instrument. Any reason it won’t load up ready to play? It even shows it’s playing on the meter but the sound isn’t playing until I load and unload it. A big hassle to do every time I open up my project to have to reload every single instrument.
Is there a complete list of how many new factory samples there are? The Orchestral Tools stuff, the choirs, some new guitar patches, some new synths and drum machines and a few other things scattered around elsewhere?
Is Kontakt 7 compatible with Mac OS Ventura? What are differencies between Kontakt 7 and Komplete Select 14, which one should be first to buy for a new user of Native instruments vst software?
Kontakt 7 is not yet compatible with Ventura. Kontakt 7 is just a sampler and comes with a little factory library. You will probably find more value in Komplete Select, you will also get Kontakt 7 Player, which is the free version of Kontakt, and a few libraries and instruments more.
At 2:00 minute when opening the patch "AVENGER BASS" shouldn't we listen to it on top of the previous patch loaded "Abeyance"? When I try this it opens all the patches I click on the background... it's a mess!
I have this installed but it says "no libraries" how do you get libraries in it? If I go to options there's a button that says "Launch Native Access" which it does, then it shows all my applications and instruments. Then I see Kontakt 7 in the list and its installed. Now what????
If you bought a Komplete bundle, you should then install the Kontakt libraries found in Native Access, including Kontakt 7 Factory Library, if it's the free Kontakt 7 Player, install the Kontakt Factory Selection.
@@NativeInstruments When ever I double click sounds in either Komplete Control, Kontakt, Kontakt6 , or another like Guitar Rig it crashes and closes. If I load Kontact in Cakewalk as an imported instrument I can get the sounds selected and play them but the sounds drop out if I try to record with them or rewind. These don't seem to work very well at all on Windows 10. I have no problems with any other software on this system.

why no komplete kontrol midi controllers support? seriously, I was expecting it when I got mine with kontakt 6 but understood it was complicated back then. But NOW? I see no excuse for it - apart from NI keep trying to push KK software
Hello everyone, I have complicated Two questions, 1- Kontakt 5 full Kontakt 6 full Kontakt 7 full The RU-vid videos But only Kontakt 7 on the marker to buy And 5 and 6 do not exist, so what happened, did they mix them? 2- I try to buy a few libraries. Plugins, synthesizer, some of it say only works with Kontakt 5, others say only Kontakt 6, others say 7 So what happens now what if I purchased software that works with 6 or 5 but it does not exist in the market? I need real help please 😢
Hi! Kontakt 7 is a separate product and Kontakt 6 is unfortunately not available in our webshop anymore. You can however purchase it in a second-hand market, or check out a buy/sell/trade thread in our online community here: bit.ly/ni-community
Komplete 13 Standard users have to purchase? Have installed Kontakt 7, but it still shows the old interface of the plugins/presets when using Kontakt 7. However, the little thumbnail on top of the plugin shows the newer version of the plugins/presets interface.
Factory Library and Choir: Omnia are the only products with the new HiDPI interface at the moment, but we'll roll this out to more products soon. Feel free to read more about that here: bit.ly/3ehnr8j

well pinning the browser doesn't work as I would expect. if I load an instrument and then select and load a new one as your doing in the video it just stacks them. then I need to close the browser and delete the previous instrument. what am I missing? (besides the database tab)
Hi, I have a problem. Can you add an Ok/Cancel option in Native Access when I enter a new serial number? Sometimes I do not want to register a number, because I make a mistake, etc. and I see that it is not an instrument that I wanted to have on my account, but it is immediately already in my account and I can not delete it. Can you add this option in Native Access? Simply confirm the registration of the Yes or No new serial number. So there is not really a true functionallity update here, just a pretty browser and a bunch of new libraries (which I heard half are not worth installing), but Kontak itsfelf does not do anything new or that can be creatively useful for the user, really dont see the point on upgrading besides the idea that a bunch of new 3rd party libraries will soon wont work with previous versions which is not an asset but a liability, will upgrade when upgrading to the new Komplete on a half price offer.

The thing is, will there be an upgrade path from Kontakt 6 to Kontakt 8 in the future, or is the Kontakt 7 a mandatory version to be able to upgrade to future versions...
Do you have to have just bought the standalone version of Kontakt 6 to get the upgrade option on the website? I have Komplete ultimate but it’s only giving me a crossgrade option from one of the other NI packages within ultimate. Is that right? Seems a bit mad if so!
