I personally loved the navy wide leg trousers on you, but I think if you’re really not sure (and time doesn’t make the decision easier) then they’re likely to languish in your wardrobe, unworn. But I do think they’re fab.

Lovely blog as always! Lovely ideas on styling, I tend to purchase blinkered to what I like and not think what items will actually go with. I will take your sensible advice away either way me for my next shopping trip. LOVE the trousers too

Oh these are some lovely pieces & you’ve made me think about wearing dressier but inexpensive pieces for everyday rather than just t shirts. I don’t love enough of my clothes so maybe I need to pigeonhole things less. Heading to the Aurélie & Lilou sites! Personally I much prefer the Zara trousers to the navy pair but that’s just my preference as I would feel self-conscious in them & wouldn’t wear them with confidence. The hats will be so useful, the elegant one would be perfect for a hot day at Goodwood. xx

Love seeing all the clothes - giave me some ideas. I have yet to try a wider- leg trouser. I'm 5ft 2ins so I'm not sure they would suit or flatter me. I was in London last week and lots of women were wearing them and they all looked gorgeous. I think the light coloured trousers you showed us looked great because even though they were loose legged, they fitted very well on the behind. I think if I can find a pair like that I'll give thema go. Not sure about the navy ones - I think you may have to be very tall to carry t offhat look. You're certainly slim enough, but even so they may be tricky. Great to be able to compare the two styles. Hats look stunning on you.

Hi Charlie, loved the pieces, they looked great on you, especially the beige trousers. The wide leg, navy pants are artsy & fun.…I’m retired, 64 years and keep myself fit so I can enjoy life with Family and Friends, including quite a few artsy & fun times. I love wearing classic & cool / fun gear from decades ago…🌻😊

If I’m honest I wasn’t sure about the navy trousers but that’s probably because I’m a creature of habit in skinny jeans 😂 but on you they looked amazing . Absolutely love the hats! I'm also a huge fan of Hicks and Brown - the quality is great. As for the navy trousers... honestly, no. I have to pull the 'I'm much younger than you and I agree with your daughter' card. They are really cool and I love the idea of them, but you would need to wear them with a much tighter top tucked in, a crop top or an oversized top/shirt/jumper (or a combination) - I think they might be a little too trendy for you. I hate sounding harsh, especially in comments online when it's so difficult to convey tone, but the beige trousers from Zara are so much more flattering on you.😊❤

My only but are the blue trousers I think your other trousers are much more flattering. Love the Salthouse loafers, I invested in the tan ones when they came back in stock, thank you again as would not have found this company as with so many without your help.😊

I really loved the Zara trousers. I think that length is very trendy at the moment and looked great with the crisp white shirt. I’m not sure on the navy trousers. I like a wide leg, but I think they’d be perfect if they were probably half the width of what they are x

Lovely clothes. I love them all on you except for the wide trousers which i think they drown you a little. Maybe if they were shorter it’d be better.

I thought everything looked great - with the exception of the blue trousers that didn’t work but I could be wrong because I couldn’t see the whole look. To be honest, I thought they looked a bit frumpy unlike everything else you tried on! Sorry 🤭! Doing something with Kate would be lovely - and given enough of a warning maybe I could go - I live in France!
