@@CarmenandBriando you think most of the shops and the skywheel and boardwalk will be open to the public again next week? By just looking at the shops status right now and buisness open as of now, does it look like everything will be back to normal next week?
Dorian came in the middle of my vacation 1 year and it was the best vacation ever because everybody left early and didnt come back right away! The actual hurricane was only 1 day. 10 glorious days of zero crowds with 1 really bad day lol.
So many memories as i look at your videos on the grand strand. Wish my dad was alive so we could make that drive down ocean blvd. Last time we went to north myrtlebeach we took the old route of 301 rather than the quick i95. I would pay real money to do that drive again with him. Our words outnumber the turns of the wheel. So many memories. He loved the seafood places on the little river
@CarmenandBrian Sure did. You guys should do a ride around the calabash little river area. Perhaps you have and I have not found them as of yet. Hit a seafood restaurant up there.
Hi, Thank you for driving around before the big storm. My husband and I live in Western N. Carolina. We spent a week last May in Myrtle Beach. I guess the address of our Airbnb was Surfside Beach. We love the area and hope that everyone plays it safe, and I also hope you both get through this safely.
We love North Myrtle. We did get evacuated before the pandemic. Then we were on the hurricane route inland, and it took us over 14 hrs to get back north. I can't remember which one it was, about 4 or 5 years ago. I can't wait to come again this year. I hope y'all are safe.
I have a condo in Surfside, but live in TN. Thank you so much for doing all of your posts! I have gotten so much info from your posts when researching to buy there. I continue to watch to get all of your updates in and around the Myrtle Beach area! :)
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been worried about my home away from home all week! Been watching the Earth Cam live stream all day. Praying you, Brian, and everyone else there stay safe!!!
I’m in Conway and so so far not as much flooding as we were expecting at this point. We also know that the next week will be the time to watch for more flooding as is run “downhill” toward the ocean. We are grateful for you all showing downtown as you can safely. Be careful as this gets worse before better!
It’s Friday morning. Just getting ready to leave Wytheville VA. Headed to North Myrtle Beach. Rained all day last evening here. Now it’s starting out sunny and beautiful. Hopefully Myrtle will be the same when we arrive later.
Back in the early 70's, we left the beach in the middle of the night. Garden City. The water was ankle deep getting into the vehicle. At that time, we only had radio. No TV or AC....
Yikes that's scary. Glad you made it out safely. Before we had a place here we had to leave our oceanfront hotel due to a mandatory evacuation. This was many years ago. I can't remember which hurricane it was.
Great Job you 2!!!!,Thanks for updates hope everything ok with your home,we will be staying at The Avista in North Myrtle Beach in mid October how do you feel about that area, this will be our 2nd time there and saw alot of places thanks to you guys, appreciate your time and space 🙏🏻👍😊
Well thank you for the weather and beach update. stay safe!!! im surprised the garden city area was as above water as you showed and you drove over the atlantic ave cause way so the inlet has not started to rise yet but it will and then garden city will be flooded. thats for the update. look forward to update after for sure.
We are coming on Saturday to rent a house in Surfside Beach. We bought the insurance but i doubt if they would let us use it. We were there a few years ago during Hurricane Isaias and we had some beautiful weather after. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Hi Carmen and Brian! My family and I are coming down to Myrtle beach this Sunday from MD. Stay safe! Praying there isn’t major flooding. When you can, could you keep us updated.
Myrtle Beach proper seems OK so far but we are expected to get a bit more rain today. But inland there is quite a bit of flooding so be careful on the road if you are driving.
We rent a house very close to River City Cafe in Surfside. We have been in 3 tropical storms over the years and missed Hugo by just a couple of weeks. Stay safe.
So sorry about your trip! We feel your pain since most of our Disney World trip got canceled so we could get home before the storm. Hopefully you can replan a trip soon!
I am heartbroken 💔, I were leaving at the crack of dawn this morning arriving in Myrtle Beach late tonight for a horribly needed vacation visiting my friends there and had to cancel the trip. My thoughts and prayers are for everyone there to stay safe and hopefully little to no damage. Making plans for later so I'll be back to Myrtle Beach soon enough.
We’re supposed to be coming in to Myrtle beach, hotel blue on Sunday… we were supposed to come in today, but rescheduled for Sunday.. we’re debating on cancelling altogether
We have some videos of North Myrtle Beach but if you mean since the storm, no we have not been by there since the storm. Hope you have a great trip in October!
Yes it has been so much rain! Good for you making the best of it! Here's our video of things to do when it's raining. Hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bQwKKKIeyJs.html
@CarmenandBrian BTW: Love your videos! Very helpful when we come down. We live in NY, not far from Albany. We're going to get some of the storm here by Saturday, apparently.
I laughed watching the weather as they said this is the worst ever. How quickly they forgot about the last two real floods we had. Drive thru Conway to work 22 to 544. No roads closed. No detours. It's now Thursday morning and this isn't nothing. Enjoyed the video. Wish we could get out, but we are essential workers with mandatory reporting to work.
I like to stay at the Courtyard when I come. You will see its sign at about 10:58 in the video. This is a perfect place to watch a tropical storm or low end hurricane from. They have a parking garage that is 5 stories nigh- tall enough to defeat any storm surge. I saw Hugo in 1989 from Fort Mill, SC. Very interesting experience. Went right through what's left of the eye.
So far not much flooding and I'm glad to see that! Looks like its stalled around Myrtle but losing some steam. We will be there soon and stay at the Breakers Resort. Just checked, Dead Dog and Drunken Jacks are closed in Murrells Inlet (Wednesday).
Where coming August. 31 st! Through the 7th! We’re hoping the weather will be beautiful ! Where coming from Pennsylvania! We get a lot of crappy weather! I’m not looking forward for our snow! The older I’m getting the more I hate snow!
hi carmen just wondering how Shore Dr was at North Mrytle beach we stay in a condo there occassionally a place at the beach 3 if you could let me know thanks
I think there was some minor street flooding in the cherry grove area of North Myrtle Beach. We have not been there since the storm but I haven't heard of anything serious.
We drive the speed limit which is 25 mph on Ocean Blvd. We can't hold up traffic to film. If you want a slower tour we have several Ocean Blvd videos filmed while on our bicycles.
