I don't kno why people compare A1 with A-class mercedes or Serie1 bmw, they are not in the same category. The A3 is in the same category. A1 is alone on the premium segment ( with Mini but it's not with the BMW logo )

I have to say, I love your reviewing style. Was waiting for your answer on "what's a kW" hahaha. Great work As far as the A1, I like the exterior much more than the Polo. I also like the A1 more than a Mini Cooper because of the more mature interior. Personally I only buy a RWD luxury car but I can see this as a city commuter

VW interior might appear similar but the Audi with the centre console pointing towards the driver and better seats is a much nicer place to be.

I have the new Polo SEL 116hp DSG with a huge list of options. I like the Polo. My Digital dash (active Info Screen) is really good. I like the park assist and the heated seats. Adaptive cruise control I would not now be without. You can keep the A1 it looks like my Polo.

I like it because it's snappy. When I press the accelerator it goes. I always have the power I expect. On the motorway it struggles above 130 km/h. Well attached to the asphalt. - Unsympathetic at first sight, you get attached over time. - I made room for this car in the box, it deserves to be protected. 😜

A class and 1 series are a class above cars. Of course they are more expensive. And for the car, you have to be mental to pay more than 20000€ on a non sport version city car.

That's right. I do not believe he was not aware of it when making this comparison. This car is really overpriced, it starts from above 22K Euro and decent specs will cost you over 40K. Insane.

I often had the previous A1 as a courtesy car while my A3 was in for servicing. The build quality of the new A1 is generally better for sure. I notice the reviewers focus a lot on the door; the old one only had a very thin Matt coat finish which admittedly doesn’t make them feel as plastics, but that’s it. The carpets and seats are better in the new A1 and the paint finish would look good on a £60,000 car, and the new one is quieter.

Horray! Someone has used the correct word for the plastic trim, namely 'hard'. The plastic in this car, and a lot of others, is NOT scratchy. It is smooth but has a grainy finish. That is not the same as scratchy.

Honest and good review. A1 is a stylish overpriced Polo. There is no reason to choose this over Polo other than the logo

Better design, tech and handling characteristics may also be reasons to pay ~2.000€ more for the A1 (basis).

Too much of a hefty price premium to own an A1 compared to its competition.The VW Polo offers much more for your buck! Basically, it’s hard to see what, other than the four rings badge, you’re getting for your extra cash!💰 However, the A1 has dramatically higher resale values and has the lowest depreciation than is rivals... So you can't go much wrong here.

The a1 1.0 version is not great on motorways from the you tube reviews I seen . The upcoming 1.5 version should be better with a better bhp

I have driven and brought one and 1.0L has a top speed of a 126 mph, and when u match it with the 7 speed gearbox it's actually a brilliant all round motorway and city car... Except the low mpg in the city's 😂

I drove the 1.0 the other day on fast dual carriageways and it has a much better engine than my current 1.6 TD.

gary haste it’s just not powerful. If you drive slowly on the motorway then it’s fine. But don’t act like it’s pulling hard after 60 lol🤧

It's not that nobody wants one, it's just that not enough people wanted them for Audi to keep making them... Unfortunately they've done the same with the A3 as well... which is a shame as I rather liked my 3 door A3, and I don't really want a 5 door if I ever get another...

It's amazing what people will pay for an Audi badge .The Seat Ibiza is so much better looking and the same car ,why would you buy this other than you really wanted the badge . Also to me it looks remarkably like a Kia Rio .I suppose the Kia would be more reliable though and you wouldn't have that trouble with the seatbelts lol

Steve Jewiss What do you mean about the seat belts? Is there a problem with the A1 seat belts? I want to get one of these cars but I’m on the large size & a bit worried that the drivers seat belt might not be long enough. Do you know if they make these cars to order so they might be able to put a longer belt in? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I decided “NOT to buy any car since 2017! This new era is suck as money pit plastic suck idiot that complex to handle so they design something wrong than the basic “ Simple is best beautiful”. Now i’m on the middle of my life, i’m happy to have 2 audi’s n 1 BMW on my garage , the lastest was 2016 S1, the oldest quattro sport 240 TT n 2004 Mini cooper S ! Both are well running great cuz’ i know to service those 3 by myself than the DEALER. Simple! I love all basic design than this days n their complexity electro blah blah ! Damn future is
