Pierre staying at Alpha for 22' I think is great. He will prove himself consistently once again, probably sneak a win or two, and have the rest of the teams eating of his hand...I hope. And more videos on the underrated driver's 🤩
Sticking with Alpha for 2022 was definitely the right move. Long term we hope he's able to move up to an even better team, we'd love to see him fighting at the front more consistently!
Gasly is too good of a driver to stay with Red Bull's B team, and yes there is no going back to Red Bull as long as Horner's Golden Child aka Verstappen is there. We all thought he would go to Alpine but not as long as his arch enemy Ocon is there.
F1 needs more teams. There are so many talented drivers that will never get the chance. Also I hope AlphaTauri can compete with Red Bull. I mean in MotoGP you have satellite teams like Pramac outscoring the factory team of Ducati and Ducati would let the win the championship because in the end of the day its still Ducati. Same for AlphaTauri its still Red Bull.
After this season Gasly only gets a seat at Mercedes if they aren’t able to tempt Lando away from McLaren. That being said I don’t think Gasly in underrated, I think he is fairly rated. He’s really good and consistent, but I don’t know if I’ve seen him be elite. I do think Pierre going to a new team or Aston Martin and helping to build them into contenders would really help his stock in the driver market.
Hamilton's seat at Merc after he retires is up for grabs. You've got Ocon who Toto manages, Vesti who is their academy driver in F2. Those seem like logical choices on the surface. They're even still pretty keen on getting De Vries an F1 seat. But maybe they'd pull a more unpredictable choice like Gasly or Ricciardo, but they won't put someone like Leclerc, Norris or Verstappen alongside Russell, it would just be Hamilton vs Rosberg all over again and we know how much Merc don't want that again.
There's so many options once Hamilton does eventually move on! I'm really curious to see how he does next year with all the new regs, perhaps whoever performs really well on the other teams may help Mercedes with their choice! - Chris
How about this? Ocon to Merc considering how much Toto loves him, and Alonso retired, Piastri get promoted to the seat and Gasly move for alpine to be their new leader A Frenchman lead a French team
Ocon is contracted to stay at Alpine until 2024, so if Lewis retires in 2023 I don't see it happening unless Toto is willing to buy Ocon out of his contract. I can definitely see Pierre making a move to Mercedes or maybe even McLaren if Daniel decides to move on.

I think if either Gasly or Ocon were to make the move to Mercedes, it'd be on a 1 year contract to see the dynamic; as they would be putting all their focus into George and see what happens from there. Gasly to Mclaren would be interesting as well! - Chris
We didn't touch on it in this video because it didn't feel super necessary to the topic, but it also sounds like there were some disagreements internally with Gasly and the team 😬 So not sure he'll ever be given another crack at it. Hoping for a switch to Mercedes!
I would personally have to say that Gasly to Merc is unlikely. Helmet Marko has firmly stated that Gasly Will Be out of the Alpha after 2022. That means 2023 Gasly Has to find somewhere else to go. Hamilton will still be driving in 2023. The only chance I can see is if Sebastian retires Gasly will have to replace him. Or Latiffi will be out of Contract and Gasly could have an opportunity there however I think Williams has their sights already in mind For Logan Sargent to soon partner Alex. McLaren Has both drivers signed for 2023 so that’s not an option either.

Well my thought process was that Merc might be looking more for a solid second driver a la Bottas or Perez than one who might challenge for team dominance, especially if sparks fly between Hamilton and Russell. And with Ocon being one of Toto's boys, he seems like a logical contender for such a role.
Can you guys do what would happen if Hamilton retired this season (pulls a nico bc he got his 8th WDC)? I think this is also highly likely because he won’t have to stick around and see if George is better than him and he will have undoubtedly made himself the greatest F1 driver ever. Would also be interesting to see who takes the seat
We think Lewis will want to stick around for the new regulations and see how much he can accomplish before leaving the sport. And he'll likely want to be a mentor for George too and leave the team in a good place
@@CCF1channel in my opinion, there’s no way Hamilton will become a mentor to George, he’s never exactly been good friends with his teammates besides possibly Bottas (but that’s only bc he’s far slower than Hamilton).
I think Gasly would likely go to McLaren, but he will replace Ricciardo who could go the other way to AlphaTauri, Aston Martin or to a different team in 2023. But anything can happen.

so here's the thing when lewis retires i think max will make the jump to merc to become a 1a 1b situation with george that will then lead charles jumping over to red bull to become top kid there because when ferrari bring up mick i see them pushing for him to become top kid right from the get go due to his heritage and that wont sit well with charles which is why he will make the red bull jump so where will gasly end up well for me one of two places ether he will slot in as the number 2 to mic at ferrari or he will become the number 2 to lance once seb leaves i was not the bigest lance fan for a long time but ive seen him grow and really become a worthy driver so ya he'll take the spot as top kid at aston so yeah there ya go i ultimitly see gastly ending up at ferrari but would not be shocked ether to see him don the green of aston
We personally don't see Max joining Mercedes after all the drama between Toto and Christian 😅 But we also never thought Nico Rosberg would retire after winning a WDC so anything can happen in a sport like F1!
U dont looked any recent f1 weekend or ?? He is pushing his car (which is still a miedfield contender car) constently p3-p4-p5 in free practice and quali. Surely not just a « midfield » driver
We'd like to see him get a second chance, but preferably with another team. The Red Bull is notoriously one of the more challenging setups to drive so maybe he'd mesh well with another team entirely! Who knows what the future holds 👀
